Ok, this problem doesn't require too much explanation. Has anyone been able to get the app GMD gesture control to work on MiUI global 8.0.5.0? It doesn't recognize any of my gestures whatsoever. I tried a couple different options available under "Override Touch Device" yet none of them seem to work. I also enabled all permissions for the app. If you were able to get it working, then please do inform what Touch Device & Touch Event Parser configuration makes it work. Thanks.
it's also not working on redmi note 3 SD cm13.
if anyone have solution for this issue please help us.
I made it. At the begining, GMD gestures not work on my RMN3 ( SD version, just like you). Even I install the latest version (10.0 - which release on November), It still doesn't recognize any gesture that I create, it acts like my touch screen was not exist. ##. But, I found out the way. Here it is.
I try to turn on some setting in Privacy Guard for this GMD app, "draw on top", "run in background", "start on boot",...etc. all of it allowed in Privacy Guard of android setting for GMD.
Then, it seems nothing change, and I try some setting inside GMD

Touch Device & Touch Event Parser, must be "Atmel_maXTouch_Touchscreen" and "Modern(ICS, Kitkat, Lollipop".
Please note that I had an issue, after I choose those settings, and save it, It autochanged to "mt_wrapper" or sthing, you have to try twice or couple times, and make sure it saved at "Atmel_maXTouch_Touchscreen" and "Modern(ICS, Kitkat, Lollipop)", then execute Border calibration, it will work.
The point is, i don't remember how to save it exactly, but when I saved it successfully at "Atmel_maXTouch_Touchscreen" and "Modern(ICS, Kitkat, Lollipop)",100% it work fine.
Good luck.

Yup, works. But I didn't face any 'auto changing to mt_wrapper' issue. What I did was first went to device setup--> Set the touch device & touch event parser as you've instructed --> Back --> Again to device setup --> Manual calibration. Thanks a lot, I had installed like 2 other apps to mimic the functionality of GMD, but now I can finally uninstall them.

My rooted device is shared. I already set-up multi-user profiles for each of us:
1-Family mode
2-My mode
How is possible to switch profile based on lockscreen pattern??
example: "pattern1" triggers My mode while entering "pattern2" triggers Family mode
So I will have certain apps automatically blocked when in family mode (hides some applications, sms, calls, and/or maybe starts a blacklist?)
but unlocked in My mode
Is there a way to do this? or is there an app/hack that can closely do some of it?
I don't need exactly the multiuser feature.
but at least a way to start an app or two (maybe a blacklist, lock gallery/other app) with the pattern2 of the lockscreen.

You might want to try Hive Launcher. In theory, it claims to allow you to switch profiles based on unlock patterns, hide apps, etc.
That said... do a Nandroid backup first. I tried it with my AT&T GS3(*), but I couldn't get it to work. I think I might have just had invalid default settings "upstream" from it somewhere, but as far as I can tell, Hive Launcher has almost no meaningful documentation to speak of (I found a single blog page), and I was mostly reduced to blindly trying sane-looking values in the hope they might work.
The really bad thing is that it *totally* smoked the "Settings" app after I uninstalled it (I now get, "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." when I try to launch Settings->Sounds, and it looks like I'm going to have to blow everything away and reflash again to fix it). I have a hunch that it works by overwriting the official control panel settings app, that app changed for 4.2, and when I uninstalled Hive Launcher, it either just deleted it, or restored an old version that crashes under 4.2.2.
Android phones *definitely* need effective "parental controls" (as in, the ability to discreetly control what your parents can see if you have to let them use your phone to make a call).
(*) Samsung SGH-i747, I747UCDMG2 radio, [email protected]#1 kernel, Android 4.2.2, Illusion-4.2.2.2.1_beta-20130716-0058 ROM.
Just a quick note to add that the mod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342370 )to add the missing mobiledata toggle back into the notification panel works for the Galaxy S5 once rooted. The older version of sqllite editor in the original thread is not compatible with Android 4.42 however, you can use the new version available in the Playstore ($2.99) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.sqleditor
T-Mobile has the annoying tenancy to remove the mobile data toggle from the notification panel and the latest GS5 and 4.4.2 is no different. Not a huge issue for those that are on the current T-Mobile plans that allow data roaming internationally, but if you are on one of the older T-Mobile plans that don't allow that, or if you are like me planning to use my unlocked T-Mobile GS5 on another network, having that toggle is handy to avoid pricy data overages.
-------------------
As per the original thread, the same instructions apply;
1) Download sqlite editor app from the Playstore. (Older free versions force close on 4.4.2)
2) Open the app and give it root permissions. It should populate a list.
3) Scroll and Tap the "Settings Storage"
4) Tap "Settings.db"
5) Tap "System"
6) Scroll down until you find "notification_panel_active_app_list", tap to highlight it. I noticed its a little hard to get it highlighted because it seems to want to highlight the one under it. So you might have to tap the one right above it to get it highlighted. Make sure its the notification_panel_active_app_list, and NOT the notification_panel_default_active_app_list. I picked the wrong one the first time and it didnt work.
7) Once it is highlighted tap the phones menu button.
8) Tap "Edit Record"
9) You'll see a list of all the toggles that are currently enabled to show in notification area.
10) At the bottom of the list add ; and the words MobileData then another ;. So it will look like this at the end. ;AirplaneMode;MobileData; Then press Save.
11) Reboot and you should have a data toggle now. You can now use the edit feature and move it anywhere you want in the list of toggles.
Note: After I edited it and rebooted the "notification_panel_active_app_list" moved closer to the bottom of the list. So if you go back in and dont see it scroll further down

I downloaded TB Restore Fixer, but SQL still crashed. Can you tell me how you did it to get the older SQL version to work? Really want to add the Data toggle in the notification bar.
Just a related comment I had about turning off Data:
On my AT&T S4, I would frequently use the data toggle for saving the last ~10% of battery after a long day or two of use. I found that simply switching data (and wifi) off saved a ton of battery, keeping my phone alive for emergencies on that last few percent for much longer than it would if I were to allow apps like Facebook to constantly fish for updates.
The power-save icon seems like it "might" do the trick, but I wish it had the option to just fully turn off mobile data instead of "limiting" it.
Once I finally root my device, this will probably be one of the first things I do. Thanks!

Yeah, I just want to be able to turn the data on and off through the notification bar instead of going to the settings.
Got it to work using SQlite Editor version 2.0.1. I now have my mobile data toggle on the notification bar.
Does anyone know the wording to add the hotspot (wifi tether) toggle?
Just an fyi, all the toggles will be baked into the new version of my Project Infinity rom later today.

;WiFiHotspot;
Caps sensitive
SQLite Editor not saving tether settings
I've tried changing my tethering settings but every time I reboot SQLite will revert to previous settings which is preventing use of tethering.
With Samsung Galaxy S5 it looks like some of the values have been changed to some extent. Going through some of the id's values I notice not all the values are consistent, I've notice with some id's 1 will represent disable while 0 represent enabled while with other id's 1 is enabled and 0 represent disabled values.
Im a little confused as to the reason behind such confusion maybe other devs can shed some light as to what is going on here.
Some settings seem to work like changing and adding MobileData and WiFiHotspot values worked with no problem.
Thanks. It worked on my SM GS5.
Thank you so much! Worked on my GS5.
Wish this method would work for adding the flashlight toggle.
Does this work for the AT&T variant of the S5?

Using: EnSec Enhanced Security + Operative w TWRP. WP8 Launcher
I checked the "Always show statusbar" option in Swipe Status Bar. It works, shows the status bar constantly, BUT... Now I can't launch any applications except for the ones that are linked in the main launcher screen. When I swipe right to the drawer, tapping any app has no effect. It seems like it's blocking applications from either detecting screen taps or opening at all.
Even in the few I can launch, like Settings, it doesn't detect when I tap any of the menu options. I can scroll up and down, and pull down the status bar, but I cant make the SSB control panel open again to disable the option.
I tried booting into safe mode, but it still launches SSB so the problem persists. I tried changing to Smart Launcher, same problem.
Is there any way to prevent Swipe Status Bar from starting up?

Same problem here, except I stayed in the SSB settings long enough to discover that unchecking that check box again is one of the things that having it checked prevents you from doing. Long story short, I think this has probably made the decision for me whether or not to switch from EnSec+Operative to Loki's new ROM...because I am not sure there's any way out of this without flashing.
I had the same issue,
Only thing I could do was open up play store and uninstall.
It took forever to figure it out and took many tries till it finally registered my clicking.
If all else fails, you may need to wipe the watch via recovery and start over.
I have since stopped using the app as I never want to go through that nightmare again.

Found another way!
...For those who are remotely comfortable with adb, anyhow.
adb shell 'pm clear cz.chladek.swipe_status_bar'
This is essentially a force-stop and clear app data on Swipe Status Bar. Only works if you already had usb debugging enabled or find a way to enable it, of course.
Thanks for the tip Kilroo, but it was too late for me. I went TWRP and wiped it. Yeah, it cost me a lot of customizations gone, but at least I didnt hand anything there that wasn't backed to the cloud.
One silver lining: Now I get to rebuild the launcher, icons, widgets etc in a bit more usable form. AND I'm staying away from that SWB setting until is out of beta! Thanks for the help, all!

Hello guys.
on all my devices I have (and had) GMD Gesture Control, it's sort of indispensable for me. And it always worked.
Now I have upgraded my SGP511 to Lollipop, and I don't manage GMD to work!
Have already tried - in "Device Setup" - all "touch devices" and all "touch event parsers", with no success.
On Kitkat, one had to choose another touch events parser (HC_*something*), and then it worked. Now this seems gone from the choosing list...
Did someone manage to get it working? If yes, how?
Best Wishes,
Hasenbein
EDIT: Until there is a solution, I now have installed the Xposed module "Gesture navigation", which, although less flexible than GMD, at least works.
GMD Gesture Control works now without any problems.
Since version 8.1.0 beta 2.
Hi
After update MIUI to 12.5, I normally use an application (screen off and lock) to lock the screen, since double tap doesn't work.
Turns out that after the update when I lock the screen through the app, I can't unlock with fingerprint saying that "device locked by admin" and I have to use the pin to unlock.
Anyone knows how to overcome this?
Thanks in advance.

Same here on mi 10T
I have learned not to update MiUI, as the updates rarely fix old bugs and ALWAYS introduce new bugs. Best just sticking with what it came with until a custom ROM comes along and then leave the MiUI crap in the past.
Problem is 3rd app lock method.

So easy but still so difficult to figure out...
This was really good to learn about i have to say, thank you very much for your help!
I solved this issue after updating my Mi Note 10 to MIUI 12.5.1 by switching from 3rd party screen lock / turn off app to an official built-in widget simply called "Lock" (go look for it, it should be near the top in Widgets section when you press and hold empty home screen area).
To remove unofficial screen lock app you must first revoke admin rights, of course, otherwise its ghost will keep reappearing after each uninstall attempt.
I simply like stock MIUI Launcher, so using 3rd party ones to solve this was unacceptable for me.
if u guys are just talking about turn off screen without using side button, then there are some options present in miui...
1) [if u r using button navigation] setting> additional setting> button shortcut> turn off screen> choose as ur choice
2) You can also use the quick ball, 'setting> additional setting> quick ball' with quick ball u can use 5 shortcuts like home, menu, lock, clear cache, ss etc
3) the widget option... Just like d789 said
And 'double tap to wake or turn off screen' option is present in the "setting> always on display & lock screen"...
Thanks, I overlooked that buttons shortcuts in Settings can be configured to lock the screen as well (e.g. long hold Back or Home on-screen button).
Yeah, double-tap to wake or turn off screen is also very useful feature I use since day 1.

For me this doesn't work.
I use Nova and always have.
In Nova I go to "Gesture and Inputs" change the "double tap" to "screen lock".
I then choose "Accessibility" and add Nova.
After that if I double click nothing happens. If I remove Nova from accessibility and then double tap it asks me to use device admin or accessibility. I use this way on every single mobile I use but on 12.5.3 I can't pick accessibility as it refuses to do anything when Nova is added.

To everyone who's still facing this issue. This fix helped me and a lot of others as well. Try it out.
It's a rare but annoying glitch in MIUI, you can easily solve it:
1. Go to TWRP -> File Manager
2. Browse to: /data/system
3. Delete file "locksettings.db"
4. Reboot.
You will need to set the lock screen password/pattern again, if you had any before.

Dear friend, my phone is Redmi Note 7 Pro. I had no issues after doing this. It worked perfectly for me. So, as I saw this forum thread before fixing my phone, I just shared the information I knew. Not everyone will get the same result from this, because not everyone has the same phone. So, whether or not you didn't get the expected outcome, you shouldn't tell others to not follow this. It's their choice, not yours. Maybe atleast some of them will find it useful than you did.

Thank you very much.
This works for my RN10Pro using MIUI13.0.6, change the lockscreen setting in Nova, from admin to accessibility.
I can't double tap to close home screen anymore, but there's still home button in the lowest middle to do that.
The most important thing is, I can directly go to home screen just by touch the fingerprint button.
Thanks for your advice.
If you guys are talking about the fingerprint button then i suggest you just use the gestures that are provided by default of the settings since there nust be a spatial consisting of failure of recognizing the algorithm of identifying user by fingerprint method or they just didn't implement the algorithm that is stored inside the operating system of the phone.
So gestures is the only way to go you can apply gestures by using monetary apps that may give access to other gestures like slide down to view user statistics or usage and slide up to reveal system settings but i couldn't blame the operating system though for having not enough gestures but I'm also. Thankful that they have custom gestures so i wouldn't imply to an app that can be placebo or popular in playstore who knows it can be money cashgrab(just stating the fact that i had to cancel so many subscription on a gesture app)
