[HELP] Problem installing MIUI EU rom. - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Installed Xiomi EU MIUI8 MM rom with full wipe (including sdcard). But I cannot open settings app. Settings always force closes. Previously I'm in MIUI MM 8 globaldeveloper. Again flashed fastboot MIUI 7 global rom with flash all option. Again installed MIUI EU MM rom with full wipe. But no luck :crying:. Again settings force closing. Guys plese help me to install EU rom.

Needed more info i think..about condition of your phone..
Is it bootloader already unlocked..?
What recovery or TWRP version you're using it..?, is it official twrp, alka, or.. ?
What's settings that you mean is always force closed..?, is it settings from recovery or inside android home..?

Try flashing through Mi Flasher Tool. The updater app from MiUi is glitch-y.
Hit Thanks if I Helped You!

I have the same problem. Did anything worked for you tell me. I have unlocked bootloader unofficially

try this :
reboot into twrp,
wipe : system, data, cache, dalvik
reboot again into recovery just ignore the no os warning
flash the rom again
had the same issue but no more, hope it helps

Please unlock the device officially if u dont want to brick it prematurely. Its not that hard. Needs some patience.

Help needed with Miui8

My phone has following
1. Unofficially unlocked bootloader
2. Stwrp v2 installed as permanent recovery
3. Rooted running on miui 7 global beta LP
I want to upgrade to miui 8 global beta marshmallow with unlocked bootloader
What I have tried so far
1. Tried replacing emmc_appsboot.mbn and then EDL,FASTBOOT flashing miui 8
Problem with above method:
(a) Firstly when I was using old (LP) patched/unlocked emmc_appsboot file I was getting infinite bootloop or can't verify find device info error with various combination
(b) when I used patched bootloader for marshmallow ( I was not even aware there is such a thing) I was able to boot into miui 8 and was even able to unlock it and flash twrp but IN THIS CASE TWRP DOES NOT MOUNT /DATA PARTION AS WRITE no matter what I do so I am not able to flash anything, internal memory is shown as 0 MB.
2.To solve this I used Android kitchen to modify boot.img to disable encryption and verity check( I guess ... something like that there is a thread for it on miui forums)and flashed miui8 with this custom boot.img
Problem with this approach
(a) TWRP mounts all partition as write however MIUI SETTINGS APP KEEPS CRASHING ON UNLOCKING THE PHONE , ALSO ON LAUNCHING IT DIRECTLY. what I mean is if I launch settings app from icon or from pulldown quicksettings it crashes but if I access specific settings like wifi settings from quick pulldown there is no issue
(b) every time I try uninstalling any app PHONE SOFT REBOOTS (UI) AND CANNOT UNINSTALL ANY APP
I thought my partitions might be messed up and tried flashing stable ROM to get them back but no use its all same story again.
I cannot unlock official way because I have messed up my mi account real bad it is not getting deleted
PLEASE HELP ME TO USE MIUI 8 MARSHMALLOW

I would suggest you flash the latest fastboot global dev rom using MiFlash. I don't know how you went to stable but if it was through MiFlash remember to choose the Flash all option and normally everything should go back to normal.
What about other roms like cyanogen ? Do you encounter the same problem ?
Nope I used EDL to flash stable

Unofficially unlocking bootloader

Hello! I am a Redmi Note 3 user, some days ago I changed from stable to beta ROM and spoiled my device. All the sensors are not working and can't apply for unlocking bootloader. Sensor not working then May be something wrong with persist partition.
Did u manually downloaded recovery rom from mi site.?
Why miui 9? Latest beta is miui 10 . go to system updater app and press update to upgrade to latest miui 10 beta version.
I think latest beta is 8.10.11 something.

So u on miui 9 stable?
U stuck during upgrading miui10 coz u must factory reset. Sometime rom cant boot due to data partition and apps.
So need to clear user data to succesfully boot on upgrade. So u must factory reset to clear data partition. Else u will face problems. or bootloop while upgrade.
So if I just want to do the repair sensor stuff, what shall I do?
I did install TWRP but couldn't install any custom ROM, all stuck in bootloop!
What shall I do?

I tried latest fastboot ROM with flash all option as you guided, it shows an error that this file can not be flashed. After that I flashed this by EDL mode, the flashing completed successfully but the sensors are still not working!

Just extract the persist.img file from fastboot rom.
Put the device in fastboot mode or if it doesnt work then put in edl mode and flash.
And flash using fastboot command
fastboot devices
fasboot erase persist
fastboot flash persist persist.img
fastboot reboot
Or
easy method
u can just flash persist.img file using TWRP. if twrp ask which parttion to flash then select persist partition.

is it safe to flash MIUI global 10 fastboot rom with twrp?

hello,
so I was just wondering is it safe to flash MIUI 10 global rom with twrp? I know that it will probably replace the twrp with stock recovery, but it is easily fixed. I had to restore old backup and right now I'm on MIUI beta rom but with beta roms being shut down starting from 1st july, I just want to convert to the latest MIUI global rom which is avilable here on thier offical site and it is called Version: V10.3.4.0.PEJMIXM (MIUI10)
so again my question:
1. is it safe to flash this rom with TWRP?
2. will i need fastboot zip file if I choose to flash with TWRP?
3. or can I just download the normal zip and flash it through local update feature? please take note that twrp is installed on my phone
so that's all.. thanks for your time:good:

No,I recommend downloading the full (recovery) rom and flashing it in twrp, and then flashing the 'Disable Force Encryption' zip and later magisk if needed.., wipe dalvik cache & reboot
This way you don't lose twrp or anything else on your phone

Of course it does..
I'm talking about the full rom also called as recovery rom (Example :-
https://en.miui.com/getrom-355.html?m=yes&mobile=2
Visit this link to see the latest miui stable & beta ROMs for Poco f1, both of them are full ROMs aka recovery ROMs of the latest miui for Poco f1
1) I assume you have already unlocked bootloader etc..
First you have to have the essential files i.e the rom zip file you want to install, disable Force Encryption zip file, Magisk zip file (All files links will be available in the main Poco f1 thread)
2) Next you boot into twrp (Power + volume up button)
Next select install, navigate to the downloaded rom zip file and swipe to flash (DONT reboot after flash, click back)
3) Now again select install & now flash the disable Force Encryption zip file (This is very important & should be done during every rom flashing)
4) Next go back & flash Magisk for root
5) Wipe dalvik cache and reboot

Did you flash stable rom ?
And did you erase the data or internal storage?
I am on beta as well and have unlocked bootloader and twrp & magisk installed with Force encryption Disabled.
I want to switch to 10.3.5.0 Stable ROM.
But I don't know whether to erase Data partition or not.

1) Use migrate app from play store to take a backup of current phone app data, the backup is stored in a flashable zip format
2) Next boot to twrp, choose wipe and select davlik, cache, system, data later follow my steps in my previous comment to flash new rom
3) Set up phone etc, Make sure Magisk is installed properly
4) Next boot into twrp & flash the migrate zip file located in migrate folder, reboot after flashing, you will get a notification about migrate backup once rebooted, open it and restore everything or select choose to restore for selective restore of data

Hi so recently today I was able to successfully flash my stock ROM from Global 11.0.3 to Europe 11.2 (20.3.5).
All works, I have a new and version specific TWRP recovery which solves the decryption issue and such.
Only problem though is I can't seem to update my ROM from the latest Europe 11.2 (20.3.12). I am aware that we cannot install OTA updates like we normally would because we are on a custom recovery. I tried flashing it from the 'choose update package' where it brought me to the TWRP and executed OpenScript to flash, and also tried flashing from TWRP itself. No luck. Bootloop into Redmi Logo and TWRP recovery, so I end up restoring the working Eu version.
An updated tutorial on how to install OTA roms on custom recoveries would really be appreciated, thanks!
Hey OP, could you make a How to install GSI guide?... I'm really interested on doing that.

you have to flash https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip and then update the OTA..dont forget that we normally use a custom rom with TWRP, no point of having twrp with stock rom??? try xiaomi.eu , its way better and you dont have any problems with updates.

Hello, you are lost mate...
You use Xiaomi.eu ROM, it's a custom MIUI ROM (Not Official ROM).
You can install updates given by Updater app (System app) without issue on this ROM.
If your phone bootloop just after a ROM update, and not after flashing Magisk, it can be because of a bad encryption from "bad" TWRP (so you need to "Format Data" in new TWRP <-- installed by xiaomi.eu ROM)
-OR-
Did you use my K20 to Mi 9T conversion patch (from xiaomi.eu forum)?
Check for update with Updater app, download and install it. That's simple on xiaomi.eu ROMs.

I have the same problem, but I can't find a solution. Did you find it ?
I found the solution with explication on how to install havoc_OS
after format data you have to reboot to recovery, flash firmware +rom+gapps...without firmware it wont boot on some roms..read well OP instructions, mine are only for xiaomi.eu, you dont need to flash firmware and it will boot fine.

[SOLVED] Pocophone F1 won't boot after flashing latest version of TWRP!

community, i need your help.
today i unlocked bootloader on my pocophone f1.
then i followed instructions for flashing twrp. i flashed latest version of twrp (from twrp official site), then flashed "disable force encryption", clicked "reboot" and the phone just keeps rebooting on opening screen with "pocophone by xiaomi" logo. i went back to twpr, cleared dalvik/cache and did factory reset and result is the same.
before flashing twrp i was on latest global stable miui 11.0.4 (android 10).
what went wrong and how to fix this? thank you in advance!

Im also new to this thing, but i have suggest you to flash to stock first to fix bootloop.
My method is using XiaoMiFlashTool, before that you need to have stock rom to flash and rename it to PIE.
I also put that folder into desktop. ( more detail maybe you could search on youtube i think )
Then, bring your poco to fastboot mode, then open your MiFlashTool click refresh if device doesnt popup. when device is detected you can start flashing, and ur poco should be fixed from bootloop. ( also makesure you checking on left bottom corner before flashing, there is option you could choose. )
Next step just install your TWRP and disable encrption and install magisk afterward.
Iam not really good at explain thing, but i trying  thats what i do when my poco softbricked. maybe someone could correct me if iam wrong. but this is what iam doing so fat, there's no problem until now :fingers-crossed:
i solved it... it seems twrp installing somehow deleted miui system from my phone. now it's all ok.
thanks anyway.

How did you solve? By reflashing MIUI using MI flash tool? Or by installing custom rom? Were you able to reboot to twrp?
first of all, you must be fully concentrated when installing twrp, because twrp can delete your system, like in my case.
yes, i was able to reboot into twrp always. then i installed xeu rom to check if everything is ok. and it was.
Without data loss, is this method come back to normal as before for poco f1 mobile?
