Hi,
I have searched the whole web for a custom recovery for Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 LTE (G313F) and couldn't find. The custom recoveries for the other models (N, HZ, etc..) do not work, either the phone doesn't boot at all, or recovery menu can't be accessed (Phone resets if tried to access recovery menu.) ROM Manager doesn't have the option to install for G313F either, the only two options available are S3 and Prevail Booster, both don't work.
Why isn't there a custom recovery for this phone model? Is it because its unpopular? Or because it is not technically possible?
If it is possible, can someone please make us a custom recovery for G313F? The phone's stock ROM is really bad, and its spammed with Samsung trash and has really bad storage management (500 MB free of phone storage, can't install apps larger than 200 MB), there are many lightweight ROMs we can install if we have custom recovery. :/
Thanks in advance!
Can't someone make the 313HG and 313HZ recoveries work on 313f?

Hi I am going to be rooting this phone soon but before I do I want to make sure I fully understand everything I do because I am nosey and this is how I learn. So I ask alot of questions usually NOOB questions.
So As I understand it All I have to do is install a custom kernel which has clockworkmod on it. Now when I do that is CWM installed on the recovery partition of the phone so if all else fails I can still get into CWM to install a backup? I know if you use rom manager it fake flashes and the only way to get into CWM is through rom manager and mif the phone wont boot you are screwd. Also this phone has download mode is that a factory way to flash things? Like when I install a ROM do I flash it in download mode or do I flash it in Clockworkmod or do both work? Also I noticed that there are different versions of this phone I am guessing for different carriers. I have SGHt-989 so are all ropms okay for all the model or are they model specific? It seems that the 9100 is the most popular model. I am sorry for all the questions but as soon as I am comfortable with this device I can start to understand it.
Thanks alot
Charlie

Rom manager only does fake flashes. Only way to get cwm on our phone is via flashing a kernel that supports it.
Download mode can be used for first time rooting (to flash kernels), also for flashing roms via odin.
Once you're rooted, with a cwm supported kernel, you can use the clockwork recovery to flash roms, or even kernels. This way, it deosn't increase your binary counter.
i9100 is more popular because it is the international model and most common.
Hello, I cannot use CWM Recovery on my chinese galaxy note 2 even though it is the GT-N7100 series. Chinese firmware ZCALJ6. I have root already, I have rom manager 5.5 and CWM Recovery version 6.0.1.9. Whenever I want to boot into it, I get the standard android recovery instead. All I want to do is just fully backup my device. Please Help.
Many thanks in advance.
You would probably be better asking in the N7100 forum rather than the VZW forum. If I had to guess though, I would think the issue is with /system/etc/install-recovery.sh being present, as well as /system/recovery-from-boot.p, which will cause recovery to be "re-flashed" every time the phone starts up.
Hi Users,
I installed the custom rom ******JELLY BLAST successfully on my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i but after few days I noticed some performance issues. For this, I tried re-installing another custom rom on my phone but as I used the recovery manager during boot to load the custom rom from SD card, none of the custom roms are getting installed.
Now my phone is *only* booting in the recovery mode but it is not installing any rom which I select through SD card. (Looks like some permission issues to the /system folder in android.
If someone can please suggest me any recovery steps, it would be great. I dont want my phone to be sitting with the service center folks for no reason but I want to recover it on my own.
Is there any way I can use any custom rom or a *.exe which I can use to install it from SD card which will overcome the permission issue and then install the custom rom without any issue. Note: The phone is only booting to the default Andoid Recovery mode but not to the ClockWorkMOD recovery.
Thanks in advance!

are you able to flash cwm through default recovery in order to get to apply new rom through cwm?

Ok, I have an extreme amount of questions so please don't judge. To start off, I have looked around Google for the answers to all of these questions, but I have only scratched the surface and I would rather get an answer from someone directly so they know about my phone specifically. So here are my questions, most if them have to do with rooting, recovery, bricking, things like that.
Phone info:
U.S. Cellular Galaxy S4 (SCH-R970)
Internal Storage: 2.27 GB
ExtSdCard: 11.84 GB
IS ROOTED
Stock ROM
4.4.2 KitKat
Questions:
1. How do I safely get TWRP Recovery on my phone?
2. How do I flash ROMS safely?
3. Do I need to worry that much about compatibility with my phone? (How compatible does it need to be?)
4. Do I run the risk of bricking my phone when installing a recovery?
5. I have ROM ToolBox Pro. Can I safely install recoveries from there? If so, show me how to install the recovery and flash a ROM safely.
6. Is it easy to flash ROMS?
7. Can I store recovery backups on my computer to use for later so it doesn't eat up my storage?
8. I have several Xposed Modules running, including XUI Mods. If I flash a different ROM, will I be able to return everything exactly the way it was or it will it mess things up? If I flash my stock ROM back will EVERYTHING return EXACTLY the way it was if I use a recovery backup?
9. What will happen if I use a ROM or version of recovery that is not compatible with my device?
10. Will flashing a ROM unroot my phone?
11. Do I need very much internal storage to flash a ROM or can I just use my SD?
I will post more questions when I remember them.
Edit:
12. How do I know if I have a recovery on my device? Is there a "default" recovery?
13. What if I boot my device into recovery mode without having a recovery software installed(CWM, TWRP)?
14. How can I install a recovery (CWM, TWRP) on my device with ROM ToolBox Pro? Does it matter if my device is compatible with the recovery, or is every device compatible with all recoveries?
15. What is the importance of the "legacy" folder in system storage, and does it matter if I change the location from "legacy" to a folder in "extSdCard"?
Whew. That's a laundry list. lol No worries though. Can never have too much info.
I'm happy to help. I know 95% of these things, but too lazy to write it all out now. lol Feel free to hit me up on Hangouts and I can give you a hand.
Hello dear community
This is my very first thread I am making on this website, so please pardon me if I am on the wrong page of this website.
Anyways, I'm more or less desperate. I saw a youtube tutorial on how to install Android 4.4 Kit Kat on a Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and I heard I'd need root AND a custom recovery.
Because I'm a total newbie to this kind of stuff, I tried the very first thing I saw that had something to do with custom recovery, because I already had my phone rooted. So, I looked up a tutorial on youtube on how to install CWM custom recovery and ended up with installing it successfully, but now my phone is stuck in a bootloop. As I already mentioned, I am a newbie and therefore I am very desperate at the moment, you know.
The only thing I can do is go to Recovery Mode, but if I try to turn the phone on it gets stuck in a bootloop (It actually doesn't loop at all, it just freezes at the moment when the Samsung Galaxy Note logo appears and doesnt do anything after that.).
I think my problem is that I actually threw a new Kernel on my phone, because the video title says "How to install Kernel with CWM [...]"
I would be very very very very very grateful if anyone was kind enough to help me get out of this!
I really need help!
Thanks!
PS.
If this helps you help me:
This happened when I had Android 4.1.2 installed.
There's going to be 2 ways to get out of this:
1) Reinstall the stock firmware via Odin.
2) Install a custom rom via recovery.
Personally, I'd go with number 2 because a) you wanted to update anyway and b) if you have the right recovery and rom, it'll be easier as you can just put the files you need on an external SD card and install via the custom recovery. Now, not all recoveries are able to flash any file. Many times you need specific ones to install the newer android versions. So, if you are wanting to install something 4.4 based, then using a recovery that was made, say, last year, probably will not work well if at all.
Another thing to try first, is to wipe the cache and dalvik cache in recovery since you said you tried to install a kernel. It is always recommended to wipe these when installing (assuming you did pick a compatible kernel with what you were trying to install).
