All good ??
I just started the Beta program. I am now on the 7.1.1.
I just have a small question. When this goes final will I have the option to go final or am I stuck on Beta till I drop out of the program and full wipe?

You are supposed to receive an OTA bumping you up to the official OTA. Although the Nougat 7.0 previews failed to do that for some people on the 5X.

Just clarifying after I did some reading, manually flashing a developer preview will prevent you from receiving the next preview or final OTA. Google developer preview page.

Yes, this is the latest stock ota from beta 7.1.1 preview. If you aren't coming from 7.1.1 preview 1, flash that first then follow the directions in the OP of http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/nexus-6p-dp2-ota-captured-t3505367

I tried flashing Nukes NBD91K zip, had success with the flash - no errors. Then I flash the 20161116 version of Pure Nexus. I've been flashing ROMs for quite sometime now and it was literally stuck on splash screen for at least 15 minutes or longer. I didn't keep track of time. I'm now back on 6.0.1 Resurrection ROM. Someone posted a link to that 26F DP2 OTA. The first instruction said something about booting into TWRP DP1 or something like that. I really could not make heads or tails of the ordeal. While in TWRP I tried flashing (see pic)
the file named f9cb****.zip and got an error. I can not remember what it said. I can not physically use fastboot as I don't have a data cable or a USB C/A converter. I was under the assumption that 91K is the latest. In fact the nexus 6p google website only has 91K available for download. Now I'm hearing that 26F DP2 is the latest and I'm having a hard time getting on that. Has anyone got any direct zip that will get me on the latest bootloader, radio, and vendor images. I'd like to move back to nougat ROMs?

You don't get what is written.
If you flash manually a DP and you enroll beta from the webpage, then YOU GET the OTAs, If you don't enroll for the beta you don't get any updates, even if you flashed the latest DP.
I enrolled my device in beta program today and didn't receive any updates till now..
Im on stock rom with locked bootloader.
What could ve the reason????

Downloading, testing with Blackrose and original partition
update: just realized that I don't know whether barcode scanner works or not? Need this as all my Gmail accounts has 2-step authentication on
Do we need to flash this: hboot_220-16-200.nb0 ? As in that partition sizes?

Sorry, my bad. I for some reason skipped reading the word "not" in the OP lol. I will try this ROM out now and give a full review in just a bit.
EDIT: Seem to have problems. Zip is not signed correctly and after I install I just get to the MIUI boot logo and it gets stuck there. I tried to download it again / wipe / reflash and still no luck... Will continue trying. Anyone get this to work yet?

Just a heads up, this has been my daily runner for 4 days now. Well MIUI ICS that is. I started working on this when 2.1.20 was available for the Nexus S and 2.2.3 seems to be the most stable yet.
I have no problem using this on a day to day basis.

I completely uninstalled Blackrose and was on stock bootloader. The install was fine, It just kept freezing on the MIUI boot logo. Did you all get a sig verification error when trying to install? I had to toggle the verification process on AmonRA.

Got the verification error in clockwork too, disabled, flashed. Got stuck on the boot logo. Flashed 2.2.3 again and everything was messed up badly, apps force closing all over the place and what not. Going to try with a stock hboot later since my phone is messed up anyway. And yeah, I'm the kind of guy who prefers to setup everything from scratch once or twice a year when stuff breaks instead of wasting time with backups every couple of days when I flash something different

That's good to know
However after using the other two ICS builds (Texas and MeDroid), I realized that without that single barcode scanner functionality I can't even do my daily work (and really don't want to just turn off 2-step verification of all Google product for that)
Yet multi-account chat on Google Talks really tastes good! Interested to see if someone has ported the ICS version to GB yet.

Hi,
I may be wrong here,,, but when you say STOCK BOOTLOADER, have you also
put back the STOCK PARTITION,,, as per me it is just not enough to remove Blacrose.... In the Blackrose thread you will find the partition sizes for different roms,,, for MIUI its different... i dont have it offhand,, but you can do a search and find it as it is in one of the posts... so IF THIS IS TRUE,, then MIUI will always get stuck at the X or MIUI boot logo. So you need to flash the partition with appropriate size for MIUI.
Maybe i am wrong, but there is no harm in trying....

greg

The rom is junk if it doesnt even boot for the developer. Releasing this at this point is a waste and stupid. Porting from a different device would be the more intelligent way to go. This is far from beta.

The Dev has stated that he's willing to squash the bugs, and he said in the OP he hasn't tested these builds. If you'd rather not help him troubleshoot, that's fine, move on and flash something else, but don't clog the dev thread with hateful comments. The development section is where beta builds like this go, and as he's said that he's willing to troubleshoot, I don't see what the issue is.

Yeah and custom recovery, rooting is super simple, twrp is some and commands, nothing daunting, as for warranty... most companies frown upon modifying your device, if you had a warranty issue there is a good guide on here how.to get back to stock that's quite simple

Nice work man! Keep it up
I suppose that this ROM doesn't change anything about the awful sound of the tab. It's purely hardware I guess..
I tried flashing this file in TWRP and it failed. It just went to a screen with a picture of a dead android.
I'm assuming that the install crapped out because I don't have the latest version of TWRP? If this is the case, is there a flashable zip of it somewhere?
Thanks.

Ahhhhh! I managed to flash the rom and now i'm stuck in a bootloop! Help!
You didn't factory reset before flashing, I know this as I did it 1st time, you need to go look in the twrp thread and do the button combo to bring up the reset screen, at that point you can adb reboot recovery, wipe (factory restore) then flash the rom, then flash the gapps
This is the post, download mode is what you need to get into
Drgravy said:
it will work!
you need to put your tablet in download mode first
(this can be a lil tricky)
with your usb unplugged power down your tab hold the power button in till it shuts off
then release it the quickly push both volume up and down then quickly plug in your usb cable
that will put it into download mode
and just follow the instructions in that thread

Also in the general forum you will find a way to recover back to stock that's very easy

Was just about to post this. No KitKat update (at least not yet) but at least they're still updating the HAM2!
Camera update will be a very nice touch.

Will my being rooted inhibit my ability to install this update without complications?
Also, I posted about this in the help subforum, but as of yesterday I am getting a massively problematic Google Play Services wakelock. Anyone else?

@Modding.MyMind spoke about this, you will need to flash stock recovery. Not sure about root. We'll find out when the time comes.

I've had my mt2-l05 rooted since I first got it in may and being rooted was never a problem anytime I installed updates.

Hopefully they implement OTG correctly in this update. Would probably be listed if they did though.

I have an MT2-L03
1. The only way to see it is with ES File explorer.
2. There's no way to unmount it.
With every other phone/tablet I've had you get a notification when you plug in the flash drive. You can also see it in standard file managers. You can see it under "Storage" in settings and unmount it from there.

Oh ok I see , haven't had a chance to test OTG since I don't have a cable ha . Is it fully functional while in ES File explorer / & other similar apps I see in the play store regarding OTG mounting?
I am new to the HAM2-L03. Just got one last Friday.
How many updates have been released for EMUI 2 so far for this device?

I've only tried ES. I didn't even know it worked with that until I saw a post last week.

Well then. I would think this bodes well for the HAM2-L03. It almost seems like this update could be a test run for the US model before Huawei commits to announcing EMUI 3.
Rooted HAM2-L03 owners, let us know how the update works out for you.
Patch available
Looks like the patch just hit my phone. Getting ready for bed, thought I'd check it (05:10 UTC, 10:10pm CDT)
I'm 100% stock, no root, no bootloader unlock, straight out of the box, with the only change being the launcher,
Nova Launcher.
Yup, I see it too. Funny how the release date says October 6th even though it's supposed to be the 8th.
I'll try it tomorrow when I get home. Edit: With all the talk about the possibility of losing root, I might hold off for a bit. Also I've been getting SystemUI crashes, so I might reset first.
I am seeing the update as well.
I am stock uprooted and just updated without issue.
Update Now Available
I just checked and it said update available. but when i went to install it it booted into twrp and installed something so quick I could not see but then when i restarted the phone it was still the same b126 and not b148 and still said i have an update to install.. trying some more stuff now. Just checking to see if i could do it without a fresh unrooted backup.
see attached pics. uploading video now.
This is the error message.

How to Use?
1. Put the attachment file in SDCard/USB Drive
2. Plug in the USB
3. Plug in the power while holding the reset button(found inside the AV Ports usually)
4. After you get into recovery, use remote to select Apply Update from SDCard
5. Select the TWRP_322.zip
6. You're now in TWRP.
Caution:
* Do not use the Reboot->System option from TWRP. You'll have to power off the device manually.
* This is only a temporary boot TWRP, your stock recovery will be intact after a reboot.

It will brick your device, so don't do that.
A95X Max has encrypted bootloader which obviously means that your device is not compatible with third party ROMs.
I've got something special coming up for A95X Max in a few days so wait for that maybe?

Looking forward to that, the temp TWRP still wont let me install Magisk. I did get Youtube Vanced (root version) to install through temp TWRP but it crashes a lot.
The A95X max hardware looked great on paper but out of the box the OS is a hot mess.

I'm also waiting to get this done quickly as possible. I sit 14 hours a day trying to make atvX v3 happen asap and there are just too many chipsets and less people that help me. I have to release both nougat and oreo versions as I promised our followers. That means 3 nougat roms and 4 oreo roms, all being done by 2 people.
It really is hard but atleast we're getting somewhere.

Sooner the better. The stock firmware is incredibly buggy and constantly crashing. I cant even get Ad-Away to update hosts or MX player to stop randomly turning off. Such a great piece of hardware with absolute crap software. If you have a beta firmware that could be flashed I would gladly test it and throw back results if needed.
hi guys, anybody can describe in few words what i need to do to change stock rom on X96 mini ( 4gb/32gb) to install something better, since it is very slow and buggy.... it can be rooted or not, i do not care as loong as i make it work better and faster.
thanks.,

Reboot in this TWRP by going to Advanced, opening the terminal emulator, typing "reboot" (no quotes) & enter.

The links were pulled back because I uploaded the wrong file, Silly me.
They'll be put again with proper instructions video so I thought it'll be a good idea to make the video first and then release the rom with it.

Probably a day or two. The reason why the video is important is because I'm 100% sure people are going to have problems flashing it, just writing text instructions won't help and only gonna create more problems for me and others if I don't make the video.
