Set the wallpaper as you would normally and choose lock screen only when applying.

[Q] How the heck do I change the lock screen background?

Hi all. Loving the S4, although I have no idea how to change the lock screen wallpaper. I have changed my launcher to Nova and got a nice setup with that launcher and my 'desktop' wallpaper, but I cannot figure out how to change it on the lock screen. Help!

Nice, Nova launcher here too.
Just go to Settings>MyDevice>Display>Wallpaper>Lockscreen.
The wallpaper selection tool is a tad different than the one for Nova launcher though.
Hope this helps!

I know it is two months later but thanks for this. This was driving me crazy (and I really don't know why Nova makes it so difficult to make that change). Much appreciated!

Use home switch, launch touchwiz, with that you change the lockscreen wallpaper then switch back to nova
You could always just go to the picture you want in your gallery and hit menu > set as > lock screen. Done.

Mate 10 - huge icons in stock launcher

Hi all, this is my first post on here (ever) so go easy!
After owning 3x Mate 9's (MHA-L09 & L29) over the course of the last year, I decided to treat myself and have just received my shiny new Mocha Brown Mate 10 (ALP-L29), imported to the UK from Singapore.
I've noticed one or two "teething" issues however, most niggling being the size of the icons/home screen grid and notifications on the pull down menu, they're all huge!
I have view mode and text size set to "small" in display settings though it doesn't help.
I think, could be wrong, that EMUI 5.0 on the Mate 9 had a "smallest" setting?
Anyway, I was able to shrink the icons, widgets etc to a much smaller size.
Can anyone help with this or am I going to have to hope (and pray) for a software update that addresses this?
It's such a big, beautiful display and is a shame filling it with giant icons....
Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks.
When both view mode is set to small on mate 9 and Mate 10, yes the mate 9 icons are slightly smaller.

I thought so, must be a coming fix for this?
Just feels like the fantastic screen real estate is wasted.
There should really be a 6x6 grid option built in to stock Emui don't you think?
I know Nova can provide it, but really want to stay stock for now with phone being so new!
(I may even be first in UK with it, not sure!)

Someone said Huawei Widgets and Nova launcher together has some problems. Maybe try another weather widget from play store?

With the last nova update, no crash anymore dude
I tried to persist with the stock launcher but it got the best of me. It just lacks so many features.
I've used alot of launchers but obviously Nova is a good starting point ( it didn't crash for me) and also evie is another one. My every day launcher is action launcher and it is excellent on the mate 10. Launchers come down to personal preference but in my opinion there are plenty out there that are better than the stock one.
Also pixel 2 launcher apk on this great forums is very good and smooth

I got the crash when I add the Huawei weather widget. I guess it is not compatible with Nova Launcher.

Same here. BLA-029 .119(C636). Latest version of Nova launcher. Can anyone confirm if they are NOT having this problem? Thanks all.
Same problem here. Seems like view mode doesn't affect the size of the icons on the home screen and the size of the notification toggles. I've had the phone for 2 hours and its been bugging me ever since. I hope someone can fix this. I really hate my icons looking so big.
For smaller icons in stock launcher you have to find an icon pack with smaller icons size. I did it in app Huawei Themes https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.deishelon.lab.thememanager You can install new theme from this app which is called "card", and then apply icons from this theme in the native Huawei's theme app. For me icons from card theme look nicely and are smaller than original ones. Give it a try.
Currently using Pixel Launcher and icons are smaller now but the notification toggles are still huge.
When choosing one of the launchers mentioned in this thread, can you still use the navigation dock?

UI size changes automatically

I have a problem .. some times when i switch on the screen everything changes to very small even the navigation bar icons .. its like the resolution changes and everything will be small .. ill.post a screenshot when it happens again .. a workaround i go to screen resolution and change from hd to fhd then back to hd and the wallpaper , icons, settings and text comes back to normal size.
Help is appreciated

Write to the app developers to optimize it for Huawei's EMUI.

I use only default launcher and I have the same problem.
I tried factory reset and I installed all apps independently.
No backups, but without change. ?
I was afraid I'm the only one. ?
We have to wait for the update ?
Maybe you turned smart resolution ON?

Well quite opposite in here.I used to have the resolution on HD+ for the power saving reason and the problem occurred once a day.
So i have turned that smart resolution ON and from that moment all is ok.
Thanks for your advice even it works the other way around.
Go to Settings -> Smart assistance -> One-hand UI
Now, here you will see two options, Mini screen view and Shifting keyboard.
Tap on Mini screen view and turn on the slider

Removing the camera shortcut on the lock screen

Hey all,
Just got the standard mate 10 today here is AUS. One thing I've noticed is I cant find how to remove the camera shortcut from the lock screen? I go to my missus house regularly and her younger sister is a pain for nicking off with your phone and snapping a million shots that you have to delete 1 by 1.
On Samsung is very easy to edit this and apparently the mate 9 as well
TIA
- LishFish
Go to themes app>customize>lock screen style . Use a lock screen style (or download a theme) that does not have the camera shortcut.

Share your Homescreen

Hi everybody, i'm new to Xiaomi community , i'm came from HTC U11 the first i miss from HTC is the UI and the sound..
After some research and some installation i've finally get my perfect configuration on my MI 9 .
Here is a screenshot of my home screen
And also my HTC Usonic work to perfection with stock rom 10.2.9 after install viperFX . With no static sound or hissing.just perfect ??
For the notification i used "Notch Notification pro"
And you what's your perfect homescreen?
I like Miui's stock launcher (Xiaomi.eu version) and since I used an iPhone for several months before I bought a Mi9, I prefer launchers without a drawer. I like clean designs therefore I use some text KWGT Widgets (the first one is from huk kwgt) and three or more countdowns (countdown time app) to something i'm waiting for, like movies, events or videogames. The wallpaper is a 24h live wallpaper i downloaded from xiaomi's theme app. I used to heavily customize my homescreen but i don't have that much time anymore so nowadays i add just a little few tweaks to the stock experience but nothing more.
