Help with Compiling error please.

I am compiling a custom kernel for CM using cm source and a few other minor tweaks from others, and myself, and I am getting an error having to do with the bcm4329 while compiling.
I am pretty new to c programing and compiling and am not sure how to fix this error any help is greatly appreciated.

have you modified the wlan source at all?
if not, repull down the source fresh, and then re-merge your changes in.
havn't modified the wlan source at all, so I will repull and try again, will report back. Thanks.
Ok i got the kernel compiled and now I I want to compile the .ko for the wireless, can I get a little help with that?

If u ran a make, it was compiled.
Pick it up in drivers/net/wireless/bcm4329
I ran the make command from the cyanogen wiki, and used make ARCH=arm command and the wireless driver is not in the file it is supposed to be in.

Pass this to make:
Foldertoputmodulesin/ modules_install
Then you'll see your modules in there.
Gr8gorilla,
What did you do to get the kernel to compile? I'm getting the same error with a fresh pull.
If you check out my overclock how to, I take you step by step through making a kernel.

I still get the compile error after I followed the guide except I didn't use your modified files; I'm not overvolting or overclocking.
For what its worth, if I remove the bcm4329 kernel module from the config then it builds fine and is running stable on my Nexus One, albeit, without wifi.
Nevermind, apparently there was something wrong with my kernel config.
how long ago did you resync your repo? I had a compile error today that is involving some of the new changes there was a new option when doing old config, I hit yes the first time and had an error, no wifi driver, but a boot image. Second time I hit enter and it compiled fine.

[Q] [BUILD ERROR] Illegal instruction

I have tried compiling CM7 and CM9 many times, I have re-downloaded the source many times. But always when building I get this error:
Code:
Target ram disk: out/target/product/tass/ramdisk.img
/bin/bash: line 1: 12664 Broken pipe out/host/linux-x86/bin/mkbootfs out/target/product/tass/root
12665 Illegal instruction | out/host/linux-x86/bin/minigzip > out/target/product/tass/ramdisk.img
make: *** [out/target/product/tass/ramdisk.img] Error 132
make: *** Deleting file `out/target/product/tass/ramdisk.img'
Any ideas? ( I Googled the problem but unfortunately found nothing useful )
Running 32bit system.

[Q] Help needed with compiling an A31 kernel

EDIT3: I was sorta' right about the source package being somewhat temperamental. Managed to build the modules sans kernel, but doing both at the same time leads to the errors below. Also, renaming uImage to vmlinux and then shoving it in boot.img along with the compiled modules resulted in the tab being stuck on the boot logo.
EDIT2: I dunno if the build package was being temperamental or something, but ticking out the tvp5150 module seems to have done the trick.
EDIT: Managed to get further with building, but while I get a vmlinux image, it still ends with a mismatch error with modules. Coud this have something to do with the source tarball being stripped and not the full one?
Code:
Building modules, stage 2.
MODPOST 67 modules
WARNING: could not find drivers/input/touchscreen/.libAW5306.cmd for drivers/input/touchscreen/libAW5306
ERROR: "vfe_gpio_write" [drivers/media/video/tvp5150.ko] undefined!
WARNING: modpost: Found 4 section mismatch(es).
To see full details build your kernel with:
'make CONFIG_DEBUG_SECTION_MISMATCH=y'
make[1]: *** [__modpost] Error 1
make: *** [modules] Error 2
So, I kinda' figured out on how to cobble up a kernel for the A31s, but upon attempting to build one based on the source taken from http://dl.linux-sunxi.org/SDK/A31/a31_hummbingbird_V3.3_v2_kfb_0k.tar.gz
While I managed to load up the default config and stuff, building it using the command make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=/root/CodeSourcery/Sourcery_G++_Lite/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi- results in this:
Code:
In file included from drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/camera_detector/camera_detector.h:4:0,
from drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/config.c:10:
drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/camera_detector/camera_includes.h:41:25: error: redefinition of typedef '__hdle'
drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/flash_light/../vfe_os.h:29:22: note: previous declaration of '__hdle' was here
make[4]: *** [drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/config.o] Error 1

make[2]: *** [drivers/media/video] Error 2
make[1]: *** [drivers/media] Error 2

ANy thoughts or advice on how to make this work, let alone boot?

trouble building cm13

I've hit a bit of a brick wall while trying to do my first CyanogenMod build (cm13 on trltespr). Not sure if this should be put on the device board itself but I figured I'd try here first. I've extracted proprietary files from the device, followed the guide on the CM wiki, and while trying to build I'm getting the following error from make:
make: *** No rule to make target '/home/cmbuild/android/system/out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/tcmiface_intermediates/javalib.jar', needed by '/home/cmbuild/android/system/out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/okhttp_intermediates/classes-full-debug.jar'. Stop.
From what I've gathered I absolutely do not want to skip building either of these libraries, so I'm kind of at an impasse here. Does anyone have any thoughts on what my options may be here?
Actually, i'm starting to get a different error now, quite similar though:
make: *** No rule to make target '/home/cmbuild/android/system/out/target/common/obj/APPS/org.cyanogenmod.platform-res_intermediates/src/R.stamp', needed by '/home/cmbuild/android/system/out/target/common/obj/APPS/BasicDreams_intermediates/src/R.stamp'. Stop.
^regarding above error message, first one comes from simply running 'make', second one comes from running brunch trltespr

Do a repo sync..
How about try to use mka..

Sony - Xperia - SGP611 - Custom Rom build error

Hi there all,
I have been trying for about a week to get a custom android 5 built for a client for their Xperia Z3 tablet i have followed all the instructions on the Sony website and am running Ubuntu 16, after getting the repositories and required sony Vendor files i finally get to the make -j4 command, this starts to run until it hits an error saying that there is no vendor file for scorpion_windy and then breaks the make process, my question is can i download this resource separately, and also if not how can i choose what files the make command uses can i not just skip the scorpion_windy file?
I am a complete noob and any assistance in this regard would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance
The info on this thread is what I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...torial-stock-android-marshmallow-6-0-t3409486 It worked fine on LinuxMint KDE.

I've recently built Nougat for my device and came across no errors and followed the guide to the single letter. Have you done everything it has asked to? Most importantly the first part regarding openjdk-8 and the other libraries to be installed.
