I9300 seems to freeze after turning off the screen - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This problem started happening two weeks ago and it's quite annoying. Running Android 5.11 Archidroid with the latest Archikernel version on my phone.
The problem is that my Galaxy S3 seems to freeze when the screen turns off. If the screen is turned off for maybe half an hour or more, pressing the power button will not wake the device. In an attempt to figure out if it's a broken power button, I set the home and volume buttons in the settings menu as keys that will turn on the screen, but that doesn't work either. The only way to fix the issue is to hold the power button to restart the device and doing that every couple of hours gets really annoying. Trying to turn on the screen literally does nothing, as if the phone is turned off.
When the phone is not charging, the interval between the freezes seems to be much longer. The phone will work perfectly for a couple of hours without the above mentioned problem but when on a charger it quickly screws up.
Now, I don't believe my device turns off during this "process". I've turned on the LED for charging and whenever I'd get the screen freezing problem I'd unplug the charger and the LED wouldn't go away, it'd still light up as if the phone is connected to the charger, which it isn't.
Anyone have any idea on what the problem is? I've never experienced this before and it started happening all of a sudden.

How low is the kernel clockspeed running in sleep mode?. Should be at 200mhz at the very minimum!.

If this does not happen on a stock ROM, it would be a problem with the ROM and the phone.

[Q] Phone got stock, finally work but..

Hello everyone,
I got a question. Yesterday, my phone shutdown do to no more battery. Once I got home (about 1h30 after), I plug-it into my computer for a good slow charge. I noticed the led was blinking red instead of staying on, but I though it was due to critical low battery. After 3 hours, still the same. I try to open it but nothing happened. Then, I noticed that when I touch the screen or button, the phone vibrate.
I then unplug and try again, same thing. I try plug into the wall charger, samething.
Then I proceed to hold the power button for 5 seconds. All three touch button start flashing and stayed on, but no joy, still vibrate when touching anything with screen turn off (not just no backlight, no image at all).
I manage to found out that holding the button nearly 10 seconds, it force a reboot and then was OK and charged at 70%.
I'm wondering what's the deal here. Is it a problem with the stock rooted rom?
Thanks

Low Battery Issue

So i've had this problem with my i9300T SIII for a while now what happens is ill get to about 1 or 2% battery basically right when the phone is about to die. The screen will flicker not on/off but the level of brightness in horizontal lines, and either eventually lock up or turn off. If i even attempt to reboot the phone after this has occurred 90% of the time i end up with a boot loop.
I would then have to hold the power button until the phone turns off but even after i charge it after this point a lot of the time it seems this has corrupted part of the memory on my phone where the only way i can successfully boot again is by factory resetting. This has started to become quite frustrating :\ i am now having to force myself to charge my phone before trying to turn it on again lol
So my main question is would this be hardware related? I am running Cyanogenmod 10.1 Nightlies.
If this is hardware related would i be able to send it into Samsung and get it fixed?
If its not hardware then what can i do about this?

[Q] Screen Pulses on and off when fully charged

Hello incredibly helpful internet people! NEW ROM NEW PROBLEMS!
So I love my experia z, but it has a problem. When it has become fully charged 87% charged, it wakes from sleep, turns on the screen. The screen then dims and goes black like it's going back to sleep only to instantly wake up again. This even happens if I press the power button to lock it. The processor seems to run hot during this time for hours at night while my phone is charging which can't be good, and I can't charge to 100%. In other news my phone turns on by itself when you turn it off. So my guess is that I have a buggered USB connection somewhere?
Any ideas what this could be? I had this on a SlimKat, and now on scrubber port.
Thanks!
Hello.
Try to change usb cable/ charger.
Are you even using stock one?
But before that I would recommend to check on your software, maybe some of the programs causing wake locks.
You can search for "wake locks", maybe you will something useful.

Galaxy s2 screen goes black and unresponsive after a while

The title almost says it all,
If I leave my phone running for a while, even at idle, my Galaxy sII's screen sometimes goes black and the phone doesn't respond if I press volume buttons or the power/home button, the screen does not light up and it is as if the phone is dead, but it is running because my computer recognizes it upon plugging in and I can transfer files.
If I had music playing while the problem happened, the music continues playing but the screen is black and the buttons are unresponsive. It seems that the phone works but after a while of usage, it just turns black and I have to take off the battery to get it to reboot and work fine again.
It was running on android 4.2 if I remember as it was a secondhand phone, possibly rooted and experimented around by the previous owner. I tried flashing it to CM12 but the problem still persists.
Has anyone ever ran into this problem? What might be the cause and cure?

If it's doing that even in other ROMs then I'd say it's a hardware issue, maybe proximity sensor, under normal circumstances the screen stays black and won't wake when you press the power button, when the proximity sensor detects something close or when the sensor is covered it keeps the screen off, it could be faulty and acting as if it detects something even though it isn't there.
Or it could be the battery maybe?

Unusual battery drop. Will not charge or change battery from 20%. Phone unresponsive.

Long story short. Another Z compact down. This time it's my Z5C.
Unrooted Z5C E5823. I flashed some marshmallow from xperifirm (build 32.2.A.5.11) some 8 months ago...
Description of events:
Just finished texting. Turned screen off. I go to turn it on again but the phone turned off, because pressing the power button doesn't do jack. Long press it and doesn't turn on.
... great.
Volume down + power button and it turns on after 3 vibrates. Battery level plummeted from ~70% to 20%. So I just put it on a wall charger and wait.
Some 20 minutes later, I'm surprised to see that the phone is still at 20%. So at this point I'm sure something is very wrong and I start browsing for solutions. Nothing worked.
The only thing I didn't do is a factory reset. But I seriously doubt it's a software problem.
So I say "screw it" and I unplug it from the charger and start using it normally. At some point the phone turns off on itself so I have to do the volume down + power button combo again. But this time, alas, it doesn't work either. So I try the little yellow "off" button on the SD bay + holding power button. This time the phone vibrates 3 times. Then I turn he phone on again. But this time it turns off after some 40 seconds. Then it began a short power on/off cycle and then remained off. Won't turn on. Like if it was hard bricked. I fiddled with the yellow off button while plugged in on the charger and it turned on again but still won't go past or below 20%. Ever.
I remove it from the charger and go home from work. Phone is unresponsive. PC doesn't recognize it. No key combination works. Charger and key combinations don't do jack. But THEN out of the blue, I sense 3 very faint vibrations (i just kept trying to power it on, I wasn't giving up ) and now the phone is on again. Battery at 20%, obviously. Service menu doesn't have a battery test anymore. How convenient... Battery usage menu is always the same when I turn it on. PAst history is gone, app % use are all the same ratios.
I'm trying to backup my data now. But at the meantime. Phone is on and still stuck at 20%.
So, is the battery dead? Wth is going on?
i have smailer problem
my phone wont pass the 90% . also after factory rest (stock rom\kernel\no root\lockedBT)
still, im not sure 100% is my batt i think is started from android 6 (now im at 7)

hi,
I had same problem somes weeks ago.
try flash new rom, phone stuck at 20% but seems to have same battery's autonomy .
after a week I changed the battery, now all works fine
I think this is the lithium controller that is dead not the battery itself .
