is miui the only option? I want to stay on AOSP based ROMs
Im using RR 5.7.4 and didnt notice a huge difference between MIUI and RR cam quality... BUT the camera app is way way more stylish on MIUI.
All in all ... The overall experience for me with RR is better.
I see lots of difference between CM13/14 and MIUI camera performance. MIUI was much better.

Hey top custom ROMs based on stability, performance, battery life may be
1. AEX
2. LINEAGE
3. RR
4. Others
Which has the best camera quality?
I like the camera quality of fire hound ROM by riad khan...
you cant have 3 of them at the same time
which do you want
performance or battery life or stability which one is most important?
I think they're all just the same... all the ROM using the same libs from LoS right ?
The only difference here is the camera apps that are all interchange-able too...
Stay on Stock if u want better picture quality if not then try opencam or Ported google cam for sd version.
Ported Google cam with HDR+
I am curently on NOS and i tested RR too but both have very bad camera, even pixelated even after 1-2 levels of zoom.
Any recomandation ?
I dont want to revert to MIUI.

Try something CAF based like Citrus but that won't improve the camera much.
Unfortunately xiaomi.eu ROM and a custom launcher like Nova are the only way to go if you want a decent camera and good battery life.
And one last thing: Try LineageOS 13 based on Marshmallow by Gizmo. It is supposed to take better pictures than Nougat based ROMs

The camera in custom ROMs based on Nougat is worse than in stock ROM, yes.
In Marshmallow based ROMs, the camera isn't that much worse but the images are still different than with stock. Someone posted photos here on the forum comparing stock and LineageOS 13 camera
Try N os now the camera is some what optimized now 21 St build

There's no point in comparing camera quality between different ROMs.
Historically the area where custom ROMs suffer the most in comparison to stock ROMs is image quality.
More or less the quality will be the same as the software remains the same, Snap camera, and all the ROMs use mostly the same sources for the same hardware.
The difference will be made by software image processing, which only MIUI can provide.
So if you want the best possible image quality from your sub 200$ phone, you have to use MIUI or be satisfied with the camera on your custom ROM.

I remeber that in february-march Nougat roms the image wasnt so pixelated thats why i was asking.
I read it was slower and gets lower benchmarks, but is it noticeable?
Only cons I feel is Poco F1 Camera with manual controls and different shooting modes, rest Los is superior in every aspects
Yeah, it is a bit slower than MIUI. I'd say about 15%. Other downsides? Definitely a camera and if you don't like the stock Android experience then I would also suggest to stay on MIUI.
It's just a matter of taste. If you prefer Android stock install Lineage Os on the other hand stay on miui.
Personally I am on the beta miui android pie and I am very satisfied with it.
Note that miui has better performance
Thanks for the replies, so it's a little bit of speed and some camera features. The rest is about tastes.
So regarding tastes, why do some prefer one over the other?
No video stabilization on custom ROMs. It's kinda important to me.
Ui speed and fluidity is way better in los
Here are some of things you find in MIUI based roms which you wouldn't in AOSP roms
Dual Space , Dual Apps , Private Folder , Theme Engine ...
yes all these case can replicated using 3rd party apps but they are not as integrated as in MIUI
Anyone have tested these 2 android10 roms mind to share what are the differences and which one is much more stable and has better battery life?
My Experience
Pixelrom came with stable Gcam and Pixel experience didnt come with a gcam but a open camera that has been around most custom roms.
I'd say Pixel Exerience is just a Highly Debloated version of PixelRom. battery life on both are the same actually for me.
Hello.
Since miui is pain and not smooth, im looking for custom rom that will deliver a good camera experience with mostly good stability and so-so battery life. By camera i mean fully working 60fps recording. With photos i can deal with opencamera.
I did try Xiaomi.EU - its ass too.
Thanks.
