HELP getting android 4.0.3 - Sony Tablet S

Hi all I know this has probably been asked a thousand times but I am new to all this. I have recently been given a sony sgpt111gb/s tablet. it seems like a nice tablet but I wanted to update to android 4.0.3. I went on the sony site and got onto the support page for the device when I got there I clicked on the firmware section only to be taken to a page saying that the device would automatically update its self. I noticed that the firmware was released in 2012. I have checked my current firmware and is 3.2.0. so I am stuck I have asked sony for help with no success.

[Q] Is my Tab's firmware genuine?

Hi everyone
So I have Tab 10.1 which I bought in June... Later on I rooted it, a while ago before the touchwiz firmware update came out. Once that came out, I tried to update it numerous times (im not sure whether the tablet was still rooted or not when I tried to update) and the update failed continuously... Anyhow, don't ask me why I did this but I erased my system in the bootloader!!! I didnt realise that it was literally the OS I was clearing.... Eventually I found a firmware file on the internet for it and flashed it... Previously my Tab was running the HMJ37 UEKMB firmware, now it is running the Europe HMJ37 XXKFC firmware which has touchwiz already...
Now what I want to know is, is this firmware genuine, and will I be able to recieve future updates on it such as ICS when they are released? If not is there any place where I can find the UEKMB firmware to flash to my Tab??

It doesn't matter if it's genuine, don't use stock firmwares anyways. Custom ROMS are better. Wait till someone on this forum develops a sick ICS ROM.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
So, what is the coolest rom available at the moment for my Tab?? Just rooted it but duno what rom I could install.... Preferably one with more customized UI on top of TW... I saw a few pictures of home screens set about the windows phone 7 look... Is there a rom for that?
please refer here mate..

You can get samsung official firmware from them: http://m.samsung.com/us/support/downloads
But I prefer "In Paris" by Task650 and Phantom.

[Q] ICS Update; 'Wiping and flashing?'

Hello,
I have a Sony Xperia S model running currently on Gingerbread version and the ICS update is now available in my country (India) too. After reading all the pros and cons with it Ive decided to go ahead with upgrading.
But,i also came across a suggestion which asked me to 'wipe' the phone completely and 'flash' it before updating. These terms are new for me and i would very much appreciate it if someone could tell me what exactly does this mean and how do i go about doing it.Thanks in advance.
P.S - I do NOT want to root my phone or do anything that devoids the default warranty period however.Just saying.
Edit : Ok,iam seriously confused now.Just read somewhere a 'full wipe' means erasing everything from your phone, except for the Clockwork mod and download mod.Does this mean i wont be able to upgrate to ICS after the full wipe ?! :S Help needed and ASAP please.
you can upgrade it officially thru Sony pc companion, Sony website, or over the air that's provided by your carrier. the terms flashing or clockwork are options for users who have rooted their phone as they cannot update officially anymore without going back to a locked bootloader. so since the update is available in your country, you can do it officially thru the methods mentioned above. you don't have to root.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Software Update Problem

Hi guys. It's been a long time since I'been back here at the forums. Last time was when I was still using my Xperia X10.
First of all, i apologize if I posted this at the wrong place. I couldn't find where to put threads about the Note 10.1.
Anyway, here's my question. I recently flashed the official 4.1.1 jellybean firmware (the one from germany) to my note 10.1 N8000. Everything is fine with the note since it is an official release. But this morning, i tried checking for updates for my note (got excited when i read about android 4.2 lol) through the usual way. (Settings, about phone, sodtware update etc) when i click on it, the user agreement thing pops up. I agree to the new terms and conditions etc, but when it starts processing, it keeps on failing. Now i cant check for updates. (Ota) any suggestions? Im from the Philippines by the way
Thanks in advance!
There's a "Find Your Device" search function at the top of the forum.

Upgrade A501

Hello guys,
I am noob on android devices and I would like to upgrade my IconiaTab A501 because most of applications are not compatible with this version.
I am in Android 4.0.3 and I would like to upgrade to the lastest one.
I have tried to do the system update but it always says the network cover is too low please move to another place to get better cover. I have read on internet that this message means it cant be updated by itself we need to find another way as it does not concern wifi.
I saw that its now Android 9.1 but i am not sure it can be installed in my tablet.
Could you guys please help to know which is the lastest Android version i can install in my A501?
Also my image is Acer_AV041_A501_RV20RC08_WW_GEN1
Thanks for your help
