Calling issues when preferred network is set to LTE - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I have a LG G2 with cyanogenmod 13 nightly.
I haven't had issues before but suddenly i couldn't make calls anymore and when people tried to call me they were hearing my voicemail.
After that i got a text message from my provider saying i missed the call.
Now i found out by searching on XDA that if i set the preferred network to 3G i can make calls again.
My point is, it all worked before with LTE connection preferred and now i am limited to 3g.
I have tried flashing a new modem but that didn't help for me.
Are there any fixes for this problem so that i can call and use LTE like it did before?
I have tried a few clean installs too but that didn't work either, even reverting to CM12.1 didn't resolve the issue

[Q] Atrix 4G stops being able to dial or receive calls

I've tried MROM and Topsmarts now with the same results. After some time the phone stops being able to dial out nor does it ring when someone calls, everything else seems to work as I can surf the internet and sms seems to work. I never know when this happens until I try to place a call and it says dialing ....then after about 10sec I get the hangup notification. The Phone is a unlocked and rooted AT&T phone now on the T-Mobile network, anyone else having this issue? The network is set to GSM/WCDMA Preferred and the APN set itself to T-Mobile US "epc.tmobile.com".

How do I get texting to work on a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 with T-Mobile service?

I just got this phone about a month ago and I am not able to send any text messages but yet, I can receive them. MMS, data, and calling works pretty good too. MMS didn't work at first until I had to change my APN settings. Is there a way to fix this?
Does this problem have something to do with the software version? It's 5.0.1 (lollipop)
I'm having the same problem with my phone also!
Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon)
Im also having the same issue. Sold phone and bought lg g3. Ive tried changing to LTE / UTMS / GSM from global. But nothing. I turn off wifi and on data, sometimes texts go thru. But not 100%.. Another thing you can do temporarily is get a google voice number. All calls will be forwarded to your number and texts will show up in email and hangouts. Good luck

same problem here. It seems we need to either disable lte or find a way to choose lte/gsm mode to get the texting work. I did not find a way to do this in lollipop. Please help.
I need a fix also
No texting on Verizon s4 i545 on 5.0.1 with root
None of the radio switches are working
Need a proper solution ,
partial soln
I have the same problem going to cricket. Here is the solution I am using until a better one is found.
EDIT: (My SCH-I545 is rooted and running Stang5Litres rom, OF1)
[App] Advanced Signal Status
[Select] Additional Info at bottom of page
[Select] Phone Info
[Setting] GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
This soln turns of LTE, but still allows me to use EVDO and HSPA, and texts send and recieve fine. Still trying to find a LTE soln.

Help! Can no longer make and receive calls.

So I was attempting to get VoLTE to work on an M Rom. I flashed 6.11.3 but even though VoLTE was enabled, calls kept dropping to 3G. After a few hours of frustration and flashing different roms on the forum to try to get VOLTE working, I conceded and flashed my original M Rom. However I couldn't get it to connect to my mobile network. I then realized that my IMEI and who knows what else was corrupted / showing 0. I managed to flash the IMEI using a guide on this forum and I can now get it to connect to the network at least for data. However when I try to make a phone call, I don't hear any ringing. And when someone tries to call me, their phone rings and eventually goes to voicemail. However nothing happens on my phone / no call is shown. Any help would be much appreciated.

Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge+ with T-Mobile SIM - Can't Make Outgoing Calls?

Hi Everone!
I bought a Verizon S6 Edge+ a few months back. Ever since, I can only make outgoing calls ~15% of the time. The rest of the time, when I dial a number, it thinks about it for a little bit and then just ends the call. Incoming calls work perfectly fine. I tried the following things:
1. Changing mobile network to Global - sometimes allows me to make the call, often time does not.
2. Taking out and re-inserting SIM - doesn't change anything
3. Toggling airplane mode - doesn't change anything
Any ideas of what I can try? Thanks so much D
I had same issue, followed instructions from (https://www.getdroidtips.com/g928vvru3cqb9-nougat-s6-edge-plus/) to rollback to previous version of Android i.e. Marshmallow (https://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/general/g928vvru3cqb9-odin-nougat-7-0-firmware-t3601427). Able to roll back, but that did not work, So used Verizon update tool to update back to latest firmware, now it works fine. Give a try and see if this helps.
I'm having this issue with an AT&T sim.
Global: Data is at H+ and can make calls.
LTE/CDMA: 4G LTE Data works flawlessly but cannot make calls and gives me an error stating "incorrect sim or sim error".
LTE/CDMA/UMTS: 4G LTE Data works fine however when making a call data goes back to H+ and stays there.

Can you explain more info? what version where you on before rolling back, im having serious connections issues since upgrading to android 7 and that 6.01 rollback looks interesting, my service worked just perfect on 6, when i upgraded to 7 my phone became unusable and wouldn't receive calls or texts unless i connect to the network every 15min with a call to my vmail. weird i know

Question Issue with voice calls being incomprehensible when WiFi calling and Verzion 5G/LTE are both active on Verzion P6

I'm having issues with voice calls on my Verizon Pixel 6. I live in a wooded area with not great 5G/LTE reception and rely heavily on WiFi calling as such. I had no issues with my P4xl. After upgrading to the P6, I am having constant issues when I receive or make a voice call to a friend or family member.
Their voice becomes echoed and incomprehensible. Sounds like you are talking to a robot.
The only workaround I've found so far is to disable the WiFi manually in the settings while you are on a call. Then I am on the network (either 5G or LTE) with not great reception - one bar.
I have a feeling it is an issue between the WiFi calling hand off and the network. I've tried adjusting the setting in the developer options turning off Mobile Data Always Active. No luck.
Also changed my WiFi preferences to Use Device MAC and that did not help either.
I'm concerned because if someone else needed to use my phone in an emergency, they would run the risk of not being able to make a clear and successful call.
Any help appreciated!
