H850 - Bricked it good - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi there, I hope somebody can help me after making fun of me.
I tried to root my devices. Everything went fine until I installed SuperSU via TWRP. Before I installed SuperSU I made a Backup using TWRP.
When I installed SuperSU my device seemingly was in a bootloop and stuck on the Vodafone screen; so I rebooted into TWRP and restored the backup I made before. After that my device showed the LG screen, then the "Your device software can't be checked for corruption." screen and now I'm stuck there. I can't even go into Factory Reset or TWRP, everytime the device is stuck in the "Your device software can't be checked for corruption." screen.
Is there anything I can do to help me with this nightmare?

try to go into Download mode and then install a stock kdz.

I'll try that now, will be back with news. Thanks for the help!

No problem. Let me know if you need some help.

On another note any ideas how to downgrade from 7.0 nougat easily?

Okay, it works again. Thank you for your help. I flashed Nougat directly, so at least there is something nice to it.

Hey recently I installed CWM on my lg l9 p768f v20b. and i tried flashing MIUI firmware to it but it was showing some kind of error while installing the firmware so, I had already fully wiped up my phone so, after failing numerous times i decided to stick with the stock firmware or try another firmware some other time but when i tried restarting my phone my phone was stuck on the LG boot logo. But ofcourse i had wiped my phone so, i tried installing the stock firmware with the kDZ installer but the installer too started showing error after about 51%. I tried it so many times but still it is showing the same error. Please help me. What shall i do now ?? :crying::crying::crying:

Please use XDA's search feature before posting.
You CANNOT install a custom ROM on this device without unlocking the bootloader first. I'm guessing that you have "LG Security Error" printed on your screen just below LG's icon? Never never wipe your phone without making backups first. KDZ and or fastboot are your only alternatives to repair your device at this time. There are several tutorials here to get you back up and running. Search is your friend

[Q] i9205 problem after ota + root

I connect my Galaxy Mega (i9205) to kies and it showed that my phone have new update. Bear in mind that my phone is rooted previously (CWM). Kies updated my phone to I9205XXUCNA3. I update my phone with no problem (it took longer time only) but unfortunately KNOX ruined everything. It keeps on saying that SuperUser is trying to access the system. Furthermore, my Wifi is not working at all. I tried to click on the toggle button but no to avail.
So after searching, I found out how to disable KNOX - By flashing using vcoreroot-v2. Done flashing with this file, and now I can't see my interna; SDCard. I'm doomed and now I don't know what to do to turn back to how it was before.
Anybody that can help me, really appreciate it.

I see that so far you have found a way to disable knox AND cripple your Mega...
IMHO the best way to fix this situation is:
1. Download once more your newest firmware I9205XXUCNA3 (e.g. from Sammobile) and flash it by Odin to resolve starting position. Or try to restore your firmware through Kies.
2. Then BEFORE YOU DO SOMETHING read forums to find information how safely root firmware with KNOX. You have to be known so probably your warranty is already void and if not so it will be on the first attempt to root your unit. You are warned... There are some threads about rooting KNOX-ed firmware and even how to come back (partially) to previous build.
BEWARE! Do not attempt to flash older firmware lest you brick your Mega. New bootloader prevent from downgrading and if you try you will have endless bootloop. Upgradindg to newest firmware is one way trip.
OK I've followed your advise:
1. Re-download I9205XXUCNA3 from Sammobile and flash using odin.
2. Re-apply vcoreroot-v2
and after reboot.... WALLA!! My phone is back to normal again! And same goes to my internal SDCard, back as normal.
I have a problem with messaging where it keeps on crashing at first. But then I boot into recovery, clear cache and apply factory reset.
Now, all back to normal.
Anyhow, thank you so much for the tips. Now I can ease out a bit

I am glad you are successful. Sometimes you have to repeat two times, but no more: one for download errors, two for your errors. But if then you are not successful... then you have to look for another solution...
Can I know what rom u are using before updating to stock rom using kies?

19305 lte - is re rooting the right step?

Hi guys. I'm still new to rooting and roming. Not sure exactly what i have done wrong but i hope you guys can help so heres a quick run down.
Rooted the phone no problem with odin.
SuperSU gave me a headache so i uninstalled and re installed through play store...rebooted and all was well. With rom manager pro i backed everything up. TWRP recovery.
with mobile odin pro i flashed the galaxy project and re booted. It looks great but when i got to superSU it says there is no SU binary installed. Now titanium back up won't work either. I checked with root checker and it is detecting superSU but it's saying that my phone is not rooted which kind of makes sence as to why it isn't working.
With rom manager when i try to restore, it can't find any back ups which juuuuuuust peachy!
So now my thoughts are re rooting and starting from scratch. Not sure if i'm on the right track here but it doesn't matter anyway because odin will NOT see my phone in download mode.
Not sure if i've done something wrong, i probably have just not sure what it is but i also feel that this is salvagable.
Can anyone help?

Rooted LG Volt stuck in CWM recovery boot loop after brother does OTA update

So I let my brother use my rooted LG Volt ls740 to play a game. The phone had downloaded an OTA update about a week ago, but I've been putting it of and not installing it BC the phone is rooted. Well he went ahead and did the update without asking and basically soft bricked the phone.
It just boot loops to CWM Recovery. I bit the bullet and tried to wipe and factory reset the phone to no avail.
i then tried downloading and flashing with stock Roms zv5 and zv6. Both install fine with no errors. When i go to restart it goes to a screen that says "root access possibly lost, fix" followed by 6 nos and a yes that says Fix root (/system/xbin/su) Whether i choose yes or no it just restarts back to the same screen.
I've looked everywhere and figured if anyone could help it would be XDA. Please someone help. This phone is my livelyhood and i can't afford to replace it at the current time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

This is the fix for the G2 and G3, so I would think it's the same for yours, although I am not familiar with that particular one.
Since you have CWM and not TWRP, which includes a terminal emulator, you'll probably have to do it via adb shell on your PC, or maybe the Aroma File Manager:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
After that, you should be able to flash a rom or install the KDZ, if available.

relocking bootloader, unrooting, installing marshmallow

please help me. ive been dealing with issues with my v10 since i tried installing a custom rom this morning. i had to factory reset my phone and bring it back to 5.1.1 after accidentally softbricking it. now i want to update it to 6.0 to see if i can smooth out some of the many issues that suddenly rose (phone restarting upon trying to uninstall things, settings crashing when opening the security tab among many others) and trying to install the ota via flashfire didnt work. so i just want to completely relock the bootloader and unroot my phone and just get it back to normal. can someone please help me.
(im sorry im just so tired ive been dealing with this since this morning, its now 4am)
FIXED: just used the lg up client to install the marshmallow kdz. everything is working fine now.
Any luck???
