Hi guys. My current build is 32.2.A.0.305. Since this or the previous software update I have an issue with charging my phone. Every 2-3 charges (which roughly take about 2 hours) it forces me to charge my phone for about 8 hours. Now since I'm travelling a lot it tends to be an issue since I use my phone heavily. In a recent software update I was prompt with a new feature, which was to save the battery life if it is switched on, but the power drain drawback would be higher. Unfortunately I agreed and I completely forgot where the option was. Could anyone guide me to it? Would be most obliged.

Yes, but unfortunately there are only 3 sections. Not optimised, apps, and all other. I cannot find a shutdown option of this feature here.

OK I've got it finally. It's in Settings -> About phone -> Status -> Battery optimization. Never would have thought about it being there. Problem solved.

Hey guys
Sometimes when the phone's battery falls under 20%,this feature doesn't work.So when someone calls,I have to wait till they drop it and call them back again.
Do any of you have this issue ?

I think he means Slide first the wallpaper, then we get tap to answer. - No issues here. I think the sort of freeze/lag you are mentioning only has occured to me once or twice, when battery was below 5% and I had not turned on battery saver mode. It's amazing how battery saver mode has saved me SO many times!

Hi, It's not just answering calls! The whole phone becomes nearly unusable when the battery gets very low. Before the 8107 update I could use the phone normally right up to the "Goodbye" when the phone switched itself off.

Well,I haven't had any other problems with it(w/low battery),have you tried turning on the battery saver mode ?
Today I experienced that. Someone called me, and I could't answer, because slide up wasn't working (battery was less then 5% with battery saver on)
Yeah, I have been experiencing similar issues with the screen responsiveness when the battery gets low, usually when it gets below 20%. It can become really unusable.
Hi,
I've normally had a great experience with the battery life on my S3, normally in eves of 24 hours, yesterday I managed to achieve a grand total of 11 hours.
There are two things that I can see might have caused this.
1) - I used a charged from a blackberry as I'd left my S3 charger at work. It doesn't put out the same output as the S3 one, but did get it to 100pct it just took longer.
2) - I got a notification for an email just after midnight, so the led was blinking for over 6 hours.
there was nothing abnormal when checking in the battery app, standby took the most cpus as normal.
As it doesn't happen all the time I haven't installed any of the recommended battery apps a yet, but do you think it could have been due to either/both of the issues above.

If you are using JB you can use blocking mode.
Settings > blocking mode, uncheck all boxes except "Disable LED indicator" choose the times, and enable.
Using ICS you will need to use an app.

It's built into jelly bean - blocking mode. Don't think it comes with TouchWiz ICS roms

hello.I replaced my battery and I have the same problem (somehow) as before!to clarify..I dont know why I cant get the superb of 11 SOT when I bought it and running kitkat..now I am on lollipop and get max of 7:30 SOT max.
So my issue is that when battery goes down from 16% iy drains battery % muuuch faster!it happens again now even after replacing the battery, but not so quick compared to before..what can be the cause?thanks.
STAMINA Mode?
Do you enable stamina mode when the battery gets low (e.g. 15%)? I find that the battery drains faster when stamina mode is on (sounds funny-I know, since it should improve battery). Even for my Xperia XA, I seem to lose more battery with stamina and even more with ultra stamina. :silly: This is when the device is idle.
yes dude I have always stamina on.I miss the good days with kitkat that I had 11 hours SOT.Maybe I'll revent back to kitkat to test.but I don't think I will get these numbers again..don't know maybe is hardware issue cause tablet is 2+ years old...

Possibly a hardware issue but I doubt it. I've used an Xperia device running KK and can say that that was the last version (I think) that had the good old stamina mode which totally suppressed mobile data/wifi resulting in very good battery life, ever since lollipop they decided to use the built in android battery saver and based stamina mode around that which is next to useless, it doesn't actually suppress the network connection, only reduce brightness, sync and performance.
I find that only keeping the wifi on during use/charging to help a lot, settings->wifi-> it is somewhere there where you can change this.
You could always revert to KK if you find a ftf.
I've only had the tab for a week or two and am happy with the battery life vs performance, much better than the nexus 7 2013.
me too.I love it and have no complain about it.but this battery issue drives me crazy.I found my old flashable zip, maybe I try again kk thanks!

Where did you bought the battery? Maybe it's fake or not new. I'm on Android MM now and battery life is superb compared to lollipop. It's comparable to KK
My Xperia z3 compact tablet battery drains fast
Hi Everyone,
I got the xperia z3 compact tablet earlier this year and it was good for a few months before the battery started giving me issues. It practically drains out while still about 60% charged and when you plug it for charging it begins from 0% before a twinkle of an eye it's at 100%. I noticed lately the tablet goes off even when the battery is saying 80% charged. I've reached out to sony and the suggestion was that i format the tablet which i did but to no avail. Pls is there anything i can do?

Unfortunately it sounds like a hardware problem since a reset didn't fix it. You can try going into the service menu and see battery health there, maybe even do a test on it. To go into the service menu open the phone app and dial *#*#service#*#*
You spell service by using the corresponding number buttons.
Edit: realised it might not have a phone app, in that case download an app from the play store that helps you open the service menu. I don't own this tablet anymore so can't fully remember haha.

You sure? It should be under "Service tests" -> "Battery Health test" (you may have to scroll towards the bottom). For example on my Xperia Z5 it says "Good, no need to replace it." Other than that I don't know what else to say, because if a reset doesn't work it has to be a hardware issue. It may be useful to try an app which reads battery diagnostics.

Haven't had a lot of time to test battery life but my issue now is that my watch doesn't charge above 75%, anyone else experiencing this?
Give it some time, the first day or two after the update my battery was terrible, but it leveled out after. I've lost 9 percent in the last 6 hours
It's still horrible here after over a week. Did it improve with anyone's watch? I'm seriously considering downgrading back to AW 1.0
Have you done a factory reset since the update? If not do one.
Then run the battery down till it shuts off and then charge it back up full this will reset the battery stats.
My battery lasted only for ~12h after AW2. Only solution now for me is to turn off ambient display ("always on" option), now I need to charge only every other day with consumption ~40% in 24h.
Battery life is still not happening. Any new updates?
Hi.
My battery life, for about a week after the aw2 update, is still not happening. I'm only getting about 12 to 14 hours where before I was almost getting 2 days. That's with ambient and tilt settings on. Never had a problem before the update. And I'd hate to start turning things off just to get better battery life.
Does anyone have an update on how to fix this and what's going on?
Thanks.
Disable tilt setting very better but still not amazing....

I did disable both of them. The battery is a little better, but nothing like before the update.
I use with ambiant and Asus face, not impressive but about 4% at 4.5% by hour for my usage. So can be used for a long day with 16-20H. Before I can have 3.5% or little better (but not always) so not huge difference.

Ok. With Always On turned off and Tilt left on and using Facer for a watch face ive gotten 31 hours with 20 percent left.
Now, I'm starting to feel happy again! I'm gonna try the same settings but switch watch face to a zw2 face and see what happens.

Okay. Same setting but with a zw2 face instead of Facer, I've gone a day and a half.
Not bad.
Battery life on mine has been crap since 2.0. ambient screen is off, WiFi off and I'm lucky if it last 2 days. But the charger connection has become complete crap too. Had to order another charging cable... Which is made in China since I can't find actual Asus brand ones for sell anywhere. Takes 10 minutes and lots of attempts to get it to register the charger is connected. Even clean all the prongs to

Hy,
Mine was also very bad battery life after updating to androidwear2,0.
I downgraded back to AW1.5, and then after this, i did my update to 2,0.
Now my battery is even better then on 1.5.
I don't know why, but this method work for me.

If battery is your only problem... root your AW2 with TWRP flashed as recovery and just flash Magisk v14.0. Then load https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sssemil.advancedsettings and check your Performance settings. Set "Governor" to Ondemand and "Min Frequency" to 600000. Quite a difference that way.
EDIT: Btw, you have to start the app once then the root permission thing shows up sooner or later, but no way to allow it that way (AW is no full Android and you can see it there for example...) then hop over to Magisk app and under Superuser allow root forever. Then the app works.

Does anyone facing this problem of battery drain and heating of device after August Color OS Update.
Standby drain is 4-5 % per hour and screen on time is less than 5 hours.
I checked all the settings uninstalled all apps and checked the network settings, rebooted, checked in airplane mode also but the battery drain is the same.
Even while charging it is going more warm than before. If anyone is facing the issue please respond.

When I got the Mobile the first thing I did was update the patch.....so I am unaware of before and after stuff.....but It got heated only once while downloding and charging simultaneously (41°c). Also it gets a bit heated while charging when the AC / fan in the room is off(I guess that's normal).
From my past mobile experiences, a reset could help u out (take backup of data before reset).
U could also check in Battery setting which app is consuming more power.

Can u check what is your standby battery drain, my previous Oneplus 5 has drain less than 1% per hour with AOD but Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is taking 4% per hour and that is huge.

Yes and daily its different app and just which app i use more thats only showing
And also when i check whole days power consumption , highest is whatsapp with 11 percent and the total mah used is 218mah for a whole day.
So, if 218 percent is 11 percent a whole day and consider i charged once fully, total for 100 percent is around 2000mah.
So where the rest 2000 mah is going, and its going when the screen is off.
I dont know what to do.
I have worse problem than this. Battery is draining at 10% per hour rate. And strange thing is that even if I switch off mobile, it will drain battery with same rate. May be hardware problem.
