Hi
I do not know about korean device.
But on i9100 international you have to root your device, then For installing cm13 for instance you have to repartition first and install twrp 3.x.x and cm13 and gapps which you do by flashing zip-files in recovery (Not with odin).
You should search for the developer @CNBLACK who made 5.1.1 and 6.0.1 roms for i9100 and for korean devices aswell (named 250 or similar)‘

On i9100 int. you can flash philz cwm6 stockkernel.zip which has root by using stock-recovery because it is a zip-file (no need for odin)
And If you flash isorec twrp it will not show up If are not on an isorec-kernel.
So after installing philz use again recovery to install latest latest cm11 20161119 by @zjq985062714 i9100.zip (has isorec kernel) and isorec twrp 3.0.2-1.zip by @the.gangster.
Again this works without odin just using recoveries.
Then you can do repartitioning and flashing cm13 of others.
This is How i do it always On my i9100 international.

Hi
Maybe you overlooked it in my Post.
I wrote you can install philz Kernel by using STOCK - RECOVERY. On switched off device press 3 buttons at the same time until stock recovery appears ( Volume up-, power- and home-button).
Then move to "apply update" and choose philz.zip from SD card (of course you have to copy it on
card first).
Reboot System.
Switch off device
Reboot in recovery using 3 buttons and you will have custom recovery to continue.

Hi
This is strange. Philz kernel is well known as a safe kernel which has been used by many people.
Did you look for the correct version for your device ?
I am not sure but it should be PhilZ-cwm6-XWLSD-OXX-4.87-signed.zip (or similar)
Anyway you could try to make a Backup in recovery.
Then i would flash cm11 and twrp which i mentioned before.
In case you flashed wrong kernel flash correct PhilZ kernel or cwm 6.0.4.7
Then flash cm11 and twrp.
Just want to say once more all this works fine On i9100 int. and i do not know if your device is different in any way.
Did you read the threads by @CNBLACK which i recommended?
Sent from my ME173X using XDA-Developers mobile app
Okay, I checked this thread.
You must upgrade to Stock JB Firmware.
And If you already to use Stock JB, Check my SGS2 thread (u1skt).

Eureka!!!! i have found the problem and solution!!!
as i've previously said, my phone was rooted using kingoroot. once i have installed philz, it start bugging. So i though myself maybe there was a conflict between superuser by kingoroot and superuser by philz. i tried to unistall kingoroot but i was unable tu unistall superuser (don't really know why). nevetheless i have disabled the kingoroot superuser in application manager and the problem just disappeared. now my phone is working perfectly. i have repartitionned it in 6Gb internal and 7Gb USB. i'm ready for the next step.
thanks a lot Sensei

Glad your device is working again.
Please keep in mind that (on i9100) you have to increase the SYSTEM partition to 1 GB or more If you want to flash any cm13 or cm14 rom.
As far as i can see you increased only data (internal) partition.

Hi again
My opinion is: once the device is converted to i9100 it should behave like one.
Maybe anybody can confirm this.
If it were my device i would make a
- backup in recovery (important!)
Then i would have a go and make
- clean flash of latest cm11 + gapps + twrp 3 ( i think i mentioned the Files before).
If it works - fine! (and can think about flashing other roms).
If it does'nt work: restore the backup from recovery .
But it is your device and your decision.

Hi
cm11 should not make any trouble at all.
I do not know why this message turned up.
Please tell me what exact Recovery you used for flashing (e.g. philz cwm 6.0.4.7) and which cm 11 you flashed.
Maybe the Recovery should be updated to latest.
Still I wish somebody would confirm that your korean converted device can be treated as an i9100.

(i had no choice and i desperately tried with odin and it worked). Now i have 2 questions: 1) why did i got a brick after installing philz_touch_6.48.4-i9100.zip??? 2) now that i see that i can flash using odin is there any safety alternative with ODIN to install android 4.4.2 or 5.1? any other suggestions will be appreciate.

Hi guys, i just got a S2 from a relative of mine and i'm quite new to the flashing and stuff for S2. P.S (My previous device was much more easier).
And so i decided to try out RR (Resurrection Remix). I was on 4.1.2 stock, so i tried to root via, both, Siyah and Dorimanx. After rooting them, boot up, i then proceed on to flash RR and GAPPS. But it didn't work. So, how do i exactly go about flashing RR?
Did i do something wrong? Can someone help me a bit?

Yes m8. Make sure you read the install instructions on the OP of the rom. Cyanogenmod you flash the rom then wipe data where with neatrom you wipe data first. If you have to wipe data after flash dont select the option to wipe all data to install a new rom. Philz kernal is only for samsung stock/based roms so dont put on RR. When you flash RR it will put their kernal on during flash.

If so just download the rom, place it on you sd card, boot into recovery and follow the steps in my previous post.

Yes, I had similar experience when I started flashing roms on i9100. Stick with it, it really is worth it and once you get the first one you will realise just how easy it is.
Check this post out for detailed info

maybe try a different ROM, PAC or Carbon work well imho.
good luck

All right guys im just going to keep this real nice and simple. Purpose of thread:

Centralized Place to Put The Latest Recoveries
Just a heads up. This is NOT meant to be used as a kernel. I compiled these recoveries from source and only the recovery module is built therefore YOUR PHONE WILL NOT BOOT COMPLETELY AS THERE IS NO KERNEL. I made these recoveries so that users can flash

Flash This CWM Recovery File (Does Not Matter Which Version You Pick Just Take The Latest) And Reboot Back Into Recovery Via The Option In The Advanced Menu
You Should Now Have A Grey Coloured Recovery With Version 6.0.4.X

No you cannot but the fastest way to get from stock 4.1.2 to Kitkat 4.4 is to
1. Download this into external SDcard
2. Download my recovery and what ever ROM+Files you need into internal/external
3. Flash first file in stock recovery
4. Flash my recovery, reboot back into recovery
5. Wipe data+cache (factory reset)
6. Flash the ROM+Files
7. Reboot
:good:
@Grift, must say have been following your work/posts for sometime now and find/enjoy the way you can explain a lot of ( detail ) clearly without using many too English words. haha.
Thank you very much for this post & code CWM kk compatible.
foot note/tip. upgrade/flash Direct from ICS404 to KKat is possible But the user Must Format /system /data /cache within CWM Kkat as normal factory reset doesn't work for such a big version jump.(my thoughts/theory only).
Usual warning Nandroid backup First as all Rom data Lost doing it this way.
Copy of request below if possible. @Grift. If possible can you release a Temporary version of your (CWM kitkat with out kernel).
Similar to what Philz was releasing for GT i9100.
Reason for request. Is at moment Dorimanx kernel has older cwm. So when I flash permanent CWM kk compatible then re-flash Dori it can break 2nd ROM boot access/entry.
Therefore if possible a Temp version of what you are doing/releasing would be Perfect for my & others dualboot kitkat problems.
Thanks in advance bmad.

How much space is needed to compile a recovery in ubuntu? All, do I need trees used for building roms?

I believe you do need the sources. From what I see you work on the Desire HD (Ace) ? Either you download the sources and compile from there or you can try Koush's CWM builder ( just search CWM builder on google ). As for source code Cm10.2 source can be upwards of 10GB easily. For the DHD im not sure if you guys have official CM11 source?

We've got unofficial builds of cm11, and most devs have release pretty stable device and kernel trees. Thanks, 10GB isn't bad at all, but will it require me to setup my Build Environment differently?
Cwm
I'm running cwm version 5.8.1.5 and on stock rom 4.1.2. I am thinking of upgrading to 4.4.2. So can u just explain how to proceed with the recovery installation?
Okay can anyone help me? My odin 3.09 while flashing cwm 6.0.2.9 said reset instead of pass. Then phone turned off. After that I can only access download mode and it shows flash counter 2 times. Any help? Was running stock 4.1.2 rooted.

Hello developers or forum crossing guys.
I got flashing problems with any ROM.
Tried to use 6.0.3.6 CWM Touch or latest TWRP and PhilZ touch too.
I am still gotting status 7 - cant execute updater binary when flashing any ROM.
I am stock, rooted and running TWRP.
I tried to flash - CM 11/12, Archidroid or Blekota S5 Lite ROM, no success on anything.
Still same error, that makes me mad
Flashing recoveries/kernels with no problem.
Tried also remove the assert line, no success too.
So, my wish.
Anyone that could help me fix that? Thanks.
Tell me and i will PM you link on recovery log, xda doesnt allows me to post links

You need to update to the latest recovery. That error is thrown out when the recovery is to old to flash kitkat or higher.
Are you sure its the latest twrp? What version was it?
TWRP is really latest,2.8.1.0.
Trying to flash lollipop or KK.
PhilZ touch was latest too.

I am using a SlimKAT rom and I am pretty happy with it, just one issue.
I want to increase the size of my /system partition, I tried flashing "lanchon-repit-20160923-system=1G-data=same-sdcard=max-preload=min+wipe-i9100.zip" but looks like I need TWRP 3 to be able to flash it, I have TWRP 2.7.*.
So I decided to flash that TWRP 3, but I need IsoRec compatible recovery, but I don't know if SlimKAT Kernel is IsoRec compatible.
Can somebody recommend any IsoRec compatible kernel for android 4.4.4?

So I tried flashing DorimanX kernel and then twrp-3.0.2-1-i9100 using heimdall suite but I still have a "CWM-based Recovery" powered by DorimanX Kernel ??? Nothing changed?
About the "kernel-Lanchon-TRIM-IsoRec-20160112-cm-11-i9100.zip" kernel, how can I make sure that my phone don't have this bugged chip or something? I don't know if I should flash it or not.

Hi
If you want to be on safe side:
Flash latest cm11 20161119 rom by zjq985062714 ( has isorec kernel) and this twrp 3 zip:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=69511483
No need to use heimdall. Just flash all zips in present recovery .
Then Flash in twrp the lanchon repartition zip.
Then you can flash any rom up to cm14.
If you want your previous slimkat then install it again. keep in mind you will then have old recovery as twrp will only show up when beeing On isorec-kernel.
(But twrp will remain on device)

I can't flash custom recovery because of this error.
It says "E: failed to mount /sdcard (no such file or directory)"
Android version is 4.0.4 ice cream sandwich.

Hi
I would say there is no error in stock recovery.
You just can't flash any custom recovery (which one did you try?)with stock recovery except certain stock kernels with custom recovery like philz.
(And before flashing i would update to latest official 4.1.2)

Well, it has been a long time when i flashed philz.
As far as i remember it is important to choose the right one according to your device.
And i think it is also adviced to be on 4.1.2.
All this can be checked in the philz thread.
And did you in stock recovery "apply update from external sd card?

I tried to flash the right one from LineageOS tutorial.
And I did “apply update from external storage.
How should I update to 4.1.2?
I couldn’t update with Kies.
Should I flash firmware via Odin?

Hi
Maybe you could try to update from the device itself via OTA using a samsung account.
(I updated a large number of s2 this way - of course some time ago). It worked in several steps from one version to next until 4.1.2. - it is easy this way just need a good wifi and patience.
If this doesn't work you could update using odin.
As you mentioned kies doesn't work - do you have drivers installed on pc for your device? Anyway if odin recognises your phone so you will be fine.
