Hi all
I have randomly stopped getting any data signal on my RN3P. Voice signal also does not work 80% of the time
I was on the global stable 8.0.5.0 when it happened and to try and fix it so far I have
Installed dev roms 6.8.18 and then 6.11.3
Unlocked bootloader / install TWRP
Install CM13
Accidentally softbrick phone
EDL
Flash back to global stable 8.0.6.0
IEMI checked and correct
Still no data
I am a complete newbie and would like to thank some of the guide writers on this site for getting me through it all!
Many Thanks
Ryan
Have now clean flashed latest chinese dev rom - still no signal
Now on to 14.1 still same issue
Try a soft reboot

I guess best way would be to flash Fastboot 8.1.1.0 rom via EDL mode, and a full wipe is always recommended to avoid any unforseen issues.
okay bro
bro i watched some tutorials for the fastboot method on youtube and i fund that some people have had problems with their 2nd sim cad fafter downgrading
is fastboot method safe for downgrading ?

I recently flashed global stable 8.1.10 over Chinese stable 8.1.10 on my RN3 and had no problem afterwards, but it essentially had the same firmware version. I also flashed MIUI7 on a friend's phone after MIUI8 update (he didn't like the new UI) and there was no problem with dual sim. So I guess its pretty safe. Just be sure to flash the package for your device (kate or kenzo), and you'll be good to go.
And remember to flash it using a 64 bit windows operating system, as 32 bit version may land you in some trouble.
So, happy flashing!!!!
Why are you downgrading from 8.1.6.0? It's working fine.

Instead of going through all the pain of flashing, I would recommend backup your phone and than format it once. Usually upgrading from MIUI version can cause issues. No heating and network connectivity issue here. Infact 8.1.6.0 is far better than 8.1.1.0. In case you still face issues, there's always an option to flash the old rom. Good luck.
okay will try this and check if the issue still persiss
My redmi note 3 has become unusable on account of update to 8.1.6.0 as my screen is going blank during a call. I cant disconnect my call because of that.
8.1.6.0 mhomidi
Just flashed this rom over the previous 8.0.1.0 LHOCNDG. Bricked my phone in the process. No edl. No fastboot. Pffft. All good now. Loving this rom. Games run buttery smooth.
Hi All,
So after searching all the threads and forums I have created this thread to address this issue and to get possible solutions.
I have a Redmi Note 4 - Snapdragon/Qualcomm variant 4GB/64GB version.
Bootloader Status: Unlocked.
OS Version: MIUI 8, 7.4.20 Developer Version.
So sometime back I tried to upgrade to the latest Version of MIUI9 7.9.15. When the system got updated and rebooted my phone got softbricked. SS below. I was on one of the Custom ROMs AEX and tried updating the firmware of MIUI9 and faced the same issue. However am able to come out of the brick using MiFlash tool am still not sure what's causing the issue.
NOTE: Even after reverting back I see the weird lines on screen unless I flash the previous firmware version again.
Would appreciate your thoughts and inputs. Thanks!

What about fastboot mode?
Have you tried a full wipe and fresh install of the developer ROM, if that's the one you want?

Did a full wipe and flashed Dev ROM latest build through MiFlash also the latest stable build causes the same issue. Not able to see anything the display gets messed up showing only some scramble red and black vertical lines.
Not able to attach the screens. Will do attach them as soon as am able to.

My MIUI Forum post. The screens are there in the post if you are curious.
Not sure if XDA rules allow me to post an external link..

Yeah that too. Gosh! wish XDA allowed me to attach some SS.
Everything goes Haywire, I would have to flash the old Dev build through MiFlasher again and flash the TWRP .IMG file through fastboot. It such a pain good thing I have my bootloader unlocked else would be lost.

Thanks for the suggestion but like I mentioned few posts earlier I did try flashing the Stable build fastboot version - v 8.5.4.0 and the same thing happened. So got me thinking issue seems not to be confined with MIUI9 but something which am not able to figure out.

firmware?
If the recovery does the same then its not the rom as this loads before the rom

Pretty sure firmware is closely associated to Bootloader, Boot and Recovery much more than the ROM itself. Then the Signal reception, radio and stuff. But I may be wrong.
Hi
I recently received n x820 with rom 19S installed. The reception bars were shown but nothing I did or EE my service provider would get it registered. My sim works in another phone.
I installed twrp 3.1.1-0-x2 and oreo pixel experience is working well apart from no service re mobile. Fingerprint works fine.
I looked at the radio its set to usa or automatic. Preferred network type is TD-SCDMA/WCDMA.
I am in UK does this mean my phone wont get a mobile signal in UK?

Heyyo, have you tried flashing upgraded modem firmware?
Just flash via TWRP and reboot
Either try Developer 466D
https://yadi.sk/d/woKdrlRrv8yhr/Для разработчиков
Or Chinese 26s 05.09
https://yadi.sk/d/woKdrlRrv8yhr/Китай
One of those may work better for you

Hi The_Mard, I tried both but without altering the test settings on radio switcher.
Still no service. The mobile network icon has no bars showing, and on 26S modem it defaults to WCDMA only.
I tried them both with very little time between change. Should I turn on/off phone?
Heyyo, hmm do you know by chance if your phone came with Indian or Chinese 5.8.019s?
One of the only other things I can really recommend is try flashing EUI ROM 5.9.028s the last stable release just to see if flashing it plus all the firmware it comes with will solve the issue for you.
Here's the official link for it

Thanks for the suggestion. I bought from a Chinese seller and the ROM had been customized for the English market, geekbuying had a version of this on it LE_X2_X820-OS-OP-FGXOSOP5801910121S-5.8.019S.zip.
I'll try the 28S but as I am rooted with twrp can I install it or only with ADB?

Mine installed via TWRP it just got grumpy during TWRP install saying there's extra files it didn't know what to do with but it still worked
Twrp installed it and aroma arm64 6.0 provided a nice pixel launcher.
The network search shows 4 bars on the phone which is an improvement. But it can't connect though the region is Other, time and date are London and GMT.
I feel this may be a hardware issue as the network has never registered.

Have you sent an error report to the service center(feedback)? They have to fix it. Look in your phone settings.
if not, try it

LG Service Center does NOT have to fix anything wrong on some bootloader unlocked phone running a buggy GSI custom ROM installed on user-created fake Treble partition.
Go back to rooted stock firmware or even "regular" LOS-based ROM and the problem will be gone.
If LG customer service did "fix" it, they would merely re-lock the bootloader and reinstall stock firmware.
