What is the most stable rom for kenzo? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

What is the most stable rom which gives me the longest on screen time for my kenzo ?

Slim6 + Delta gapps + Xposed v87 + divine beats audio mod = True performance
Slim 6 has radon kernel built in( thanks to Umang ), so need of separate kernel flashing
I get about 9-13hrs SOT depending on usage easily.
Minimum 4hrs SOT on playing WiFi online games like After pulse, Mobile legends, War robots
Camera performance usual in daylight, for lowlight use FreeDcam app....its noise reduction algorithm is less aggressive + can capture in raw10 format(.dng) via camera2 api. Raw format can be edited & converted to .jpeg by Adobe lightroom
ROM itself is bare basics without any unnecessary codes so best performance
No problem in VoLTE
Hope this info helps

Share Yor ROM+Kernels setup here

Hi there, this is the thread to share your rom and kernels setup and if also some mod that you use in your rome such as audio mod. Might be helpful for and the other users to try. Maybe some of you using MiUI Rom either chinese or global or xiaomi.eu or other MiUI based rom and maybe some of you using CM13 and aosp based rom.
Here is also some link for the kernels:

Some users like more battery backup on their device, some users like more performance on their device. So, which one is yours?
Share.... :highfive: Also it might be helpful if you share your kernel settings. Screenshot would be great :highfive:
My ultimate Kenzo-combo is:
1. Unofficial CM13 by Umang and DiamondBond. Why this over official CM13? Because I don't have to mess with all the camera fixes, everything is included by default. Plus as a bonus I get lightning-fast boot times and slightly quicker apps installation;
2. Radon V3.0.1 aka the most versatile, feature-rich and stable kernel for this device;
3. GovTuner 3.6 with the Balanced profile. The phone runs super-smooth while giving me solid 7-8 hours of actual use. Sure, I could go with more conservative settings and easily get 10-12 hours of SoT, but watching the phone stutter and lag is not for me.
4. Various little mods and adjustments, like the Goodix patch, build.prop tweaks ( disabling Camera2 API and bringing the LCD density down to 420 ), removing SoundFX libraries, heavily debloating the ROM and cleaning up some more system stuff like libraries and ringtones.
Overall this combo gives me the perfect day-to-day usage with no bullstuff, no crashes, no weird glitches and bugs. Everything is consistent, clean, smooth and stable.
CM14.1 can't come soon enough.

Unfortunately, I haven't used either of those mods, so I can't compare.
But after installing GovTuner I noticed a signifcant increase in smoothness and fluidity with no real decrease in battery life / SoT.

Can you explain how it improves? for example disabling Camera2 API? I use Denoisecamera (from this forum) but some options FC.. but the pictures are actually nice in my opinion... Would like to have a full working camera with at least a close enough quality to this app

It doesn't improve picture quailty, it improves the speed and responsiveness of the camera app. I don't care about picture quailty at all because I'm a student, so 99% of the pictures I take are textbooks, whiteboards and so on. I don't need any manual controls and denoise features for that. So, it improves the experience for me personally by making taking pictures faster and simpler.

I prefer to have a better battery backup (2days) but not in lieu of a great decrease in performance. The phone doesn't shutter or lag, smooth and I get about 10h SOT

Can installing a custom ROM give me more control over the camera?

So our device doesn't support camera2 api, so it can't shoot RAW, or control things like shutter speed manually. There a build.prop hack for snapdragon that allow this, but I tried that on my mediatek one and it doesn't work.
I really want to have manual camera control, can installing a custom ROM help me do that? If so then which ROM would you recommend?
Thanks!
All CM Based ROMs Decrease Camera Quality,
Only Stock MIUI Gives better Quality then Custom ROMs,
You can try Camera FV-5 Pro or other apps to take RAW Pictures, etc...
No it will in most cases never improve or give more control and in fact will usually lessen your overall quality. The camera is driver driven and without the proper driver to control it, it's useless.
Add this line on build prop:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Download any manual camera (i suggest you snap camera hd3), enjoy

Hey everyone!
First and Foremost, DO A NANDROID BACKUP!!!!! I am not responsible for any mistakes that you make or if anything happens to your phone.

you can flash in magisk and that allows to set jpeg 100%
It's only work with stock camera . It's has no effect in gcam or ....
Changelog:
V1-
-set JPEG quality to 100%
-Increase 1080 and 4k bit rate
-Set audio to channel 2 (stereo)
-Increase audio bit rate
-Increase photos details
V2-
-Some changes for better vibrance and saturation
V3-
-Increase video quality
-Increase audio quality
-Increase photos details
V4-
- Larger Image Buffer
- Larger colour information flow from colour sensor in blend matrix
- Better overall handling of ISO exposure settings
- Better low light performance
- Less noise in low ISO
- More aggressive handling of high ISO aliasing
- Extra frame of bracketing for HDR modes
Enjoy
What does it contain?
Yes, some explanation and info would be welcome haha.
EDIT : guys, don't flash until we have more info.
look at the README:
Changelog:
Code:
v1 - Initial Release
v2 - Fixed the earpiece not working throughout the system
v3 - Fixed Earpiece not switching from multimedia to calls
v4 - Fixed bluetooth audio issue
v5 - Fixed right channel not playing through main speaker
v6 - Fixed latency issue between earpiece and main speaker
The rest seems legit, so it doesn't seem to be a scam, however, it would be good to know exactly what it does. Also, since you used as a model the stereo speaker mod from @acervenky , it would be nice to give him some credit.
Samples
Gcam - stock camera - camera tweak

Works as a module and easy to uninstall?
Just delete from magisk model

Apart from JPEG quality, which was set to 100% by you, these files have no impact on photos, processing or whitebalance.
They control video.
Also, OnePlus' stock camera and for example GCam are already using 95% JPEG quality.
There is no noticeable difference between 95 and 100%. All this does is needlessly increasing filesize.
Providing downsized samples through the forum is also not saying anything.
The "difference" which can be seen in your samples is not caused by the change you did to the files.
You just took a bad photo from what I can see (bad focus / handshake?!).
Also keep in mind that stock camera sometimes does not apply postprocessing when using it right after GCam.
Clear recents first if you compare them.
If I missed something, please provide thorough information to what you've actually changed.
No disrespect, but in terms of photo-quality this is a placebo-tweak.

In V3 I make changed in Media profile to change jpeg quality and increase audio quality and force it to record stereo and increase video quality by changing bit rate
In part 2 I add some tweak
I belief with this mod you can get better results than stock
Camera or gcam
V3 increase gcam quality too
I'm so busy now and couldn't test or send good samples

[Video frame drop issue !!!!][Solved][1080p 30fps with EIS ][4k 30fps with EIS]

I will be not responsible if you burn your device
I don't know its fully working or not but I have tested almost 10 videos and most of them are more than 10 minutes long and all of them was different different conditions lightning conditions.
My prediction was if the Camera sensor is not getting warm with direct sunlight in G-cam then why it is MIUI camera app lagging and throttling down CPU performance ???
The ans is simple Xiaomi put some thermal profile in our vendor so that our phone temperature stays in stable mode / In one way it is good and safe but the profiles are not Optimized to obtain the highest performance of our beloved redmi note 7 pro . That's why the phone is lagging in recording video in stock camera app
The solution is simple ,Just delete those thermal profiles
For MIUI and Custom rom users
Your phone should be Unlocked and you need root permissions.
Using any root explorer go to vendor/etc/ folder
Delete thermal-engine-camera.conf[for camera throttling CPU performance]
Delete thermal-engine-pubgmhd.config[For pub throttling CPU performance]
Or just Install the magisk module[miui and Custom rom] Download-https://drive.google.com/file/d/1I0VGCbjR4rnfi_54OeY9guV_nRCkhiG7/view?usp=sharing
Reboot and try to shoot videos in Direct sunlight Hope you will get particular 29/30fps in 1080p
Your phone will heat upto 52dC [tasered in mine]
Tested on latest vendor and mokee official rom and XEonAX's latest camera mod [4k 30fps is available with EIS:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:] and the videos are buttery smooth
XEonAX's latest camera mod link-https://github.com/XEonAX/ANXCamera/releases/tag/96.singularity

Also I don't see a big difference between HDR + and advanced HDR +, are there any?

Unfortunately no, choosing the 64PM sensor and 60fps does not make 60fps video but still 30. The slow motion mode no longer crashes with the 64MP sensor, but the video rendering is really weird, as if there were 1 images per second.
Hdr+ enhance (compare too Hdr+) works great with low light scenes effectively, thx
