need help for downgrading... - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on MM and I want to downgrade to lollipop for Installing existenz LP v7.0... I want to flash the official firmware first by using prf creator and making the rooted zip...
My question is: Is it alright to flash the zip or flashing the FTF is necessary?
Plus I want to know about backing up TA, unlocking and relocking the bootloader

There's no need for you to downgrade it to .264. Just wipe system, cache, ART cache and data prior flashing when on MM's recovery then you are good to go.

[Q] Xperia z2 lollipop root?

Hello,
I'm Yazan and I'm new to this developing stuff. I had an old Samsung that I used to play with and rooted it but moving to the Xperia z2 was a big upgrade. I have very low experience and would love to root my Xperia z2. I have updated it to the generic lollipop update and would like to know if there is a way to root it. And also could I downgrade to 4.4.4 KitKat root it and install a rooted 5.0 stock ROM?
Thanks for the help. I'll be waiting. :fingers-crossed:
You need to downgrade it to 4.4.2 Kitkat, root it, install Dualrecovery, and then flash a prerooted lollipop firmware via recovery.
Please search the forum for how to do it..

... So I could flash (downgrade) a stock 4.4.2 ROM directly from 5.0.2 using flashtool, then root it and install dual recovery then flash the 5.0 pre rooted rom using the recovery? And btw my bootloader is locked should I unlock it first.

No need to unlock bootloader... Just do as you said...
The intention of downgrading firmware is to gain root without unlocking bootloader.

Haha, thanks I'm sort of new... Thanks though. and which ROM should I choose... 17.1.2.A.0.314 or 17.1.1.A.0.402. My device is D6503
You may use 17.1.2.A.0.314 to downgrade.

its either you already have a TWRP on the previous version which is KitKat, if not make your phone rooted, unlocked bootloader with recovery before doing or flashing this new version (Lollipop)

I am on the GPe port as well. What steps did you exactly take to flash this Sony ROM?
Did you flash another Recovery or Kernel first or did you flash it from the TWRP which is part of Scrubbers port?

[Q]is it possible to restore KK NANDROID BACKUP after updating Soak Test LP?

If I'll update to Soak Test version Lollipop and then want to restore my Kitkat 4.4.4 Nandroid Backup will it work or will it hard brick the device ??

I restored after upgrading via TWRP Flashable ZIP (not via AdB fastboot) and restored my kk backup successfully.
In my thought the bootloader upgrade and downgrade only happnes when u flash ROM via Fastboot, so u can downgrade by flashing Stock LP flashable zip, but flash at ur own risk
Did u flashed the soak test ota zip, and then were u able to restore the nandroid backup [kitkat] successfully without any problem? Thats all I want to know..

Tried to find but there isn't any. The only way to upgrade I see is first flash the stock 4.4.4 firmware and then flash the soak test ota. In this way there could be some possibility of hard brick while downgrading or by any other method. Thats why I don't wanna upgrade in this way, I better stay with Kitkat and wait till someone come up with a flashable stock pure lollipop rom

Need help with a ROM

Hey guys, I have an Xperia Z2 D6503 with Android 5.1.1 FW 23.4.A.1.200 non-rooted with LB
I saw this ROM -----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/rom-z2-264-stock-rooted-deodexed-t3276227
In the instructions it only says to flash it from recovery and wipe data, and since it's stock based, i was wondering if i needed to root my phone or install a special recovery before flashing this room
Thanks in advance
You don't need to root, but you do need to unlock your boot loader to be able to flash anything that isn't flashed with Sony's own tools and have their signatures.
You migt need to load a different recovery (i.e. twrp or cwm). I can't say for sure.
dont forget to save drm keys first..... I really miss the sony camera, i didnt save the keys and now the camera performance is not as good as before. Tbh u will prefer the stock more.

guys don't mislead. All you need is to downgrade to 23.1.A.1.28, root it via KingRoot and install XZ Dual Recovery. No unlock bootloader required

He asked about a stock rom. He doesn't need to unlock his bootloader. He can simply downgrade and root then install recovery and flash that stock deodexed rom. Only CM and AOSP based roms need unlocked bootloader. All the sony stock based roms can install in a LB..

My friend. .
Follow this instructions
First download 23.1.A.1.28 ftf and flash it using flashtool. Or download any kitkat ftf and flash it via flashtool. Then root it and install NUT dual recovery. Then move the rom u want to flash to ur phone and enter recovery. Wipe data factory reset and flash rom. Then reboot.. Thats it. U don't need to unlock ur bootloader..
If u don't know how to downgrade u can simply see a YouTube video. There is lot of tutorials available in xda or YouTubes.
U can't root 5.1.1 directly if u are on a LB. So follow my method and enjoy a stock deodexed rom..

Root SM-G925F

I've a little Question.
I want to root my Phone. I've installed latest official Marshmallow update (G925FXXU3DPDP) and don't know what's the way to root. The cf-autoroot from File Chainfire is different from my current Buildnumber.
I saw a Video from "Highonandroid" in that he first flashed the SpaceX Kernel and then the Twrp, does this work?
One more Question: When i flashed Twrp and want to install a 5.1.1 over the Official Marshmallow, do i get a bootloop then?
Sorry for the Questions, but i am new at this and don't want to do anything wrong
Flash twrp as in original android development section. Then flash supersu.zip.
And no 5.1.1 rom on MM booloader.
