Today, as many of you probably know, the LG G5 has been getting updates for Android Nougat. This morning at about 9 am, I had a fancy notification that informed me that my Android software update was available for download and install. I did such, and eagerly awaited for awesome drop down screens and split view, multi-app functionality, when instead I was greeted with.... the same interface I always had?
Now of course I instantly went and checked the settings and sure enough, my current firmware is Android 6.0.1 as suspected. Software version V10k-AME-XX. To be clear, I was already running 6.0.1 beforehand. I did not take note of the name of the update as I was not expecting an issue. I have the LG G5 H860 International Unlocked version. My phone tells me that I am running the "latest software version for current OS", and that there are no software updates available for my phone. It also indicates that my latest software update was December 2, 2016. Anybody know what's going on? Thanks.

You, like me have received September Security update in December.
But I know Nougat is coming real soon for H860. I have a confirmation.. Don't ask me when, and how I came to know. I won't tell.

The 4.4 update for the F320 has been leaked in some chinese forums (no direct download link available though).
From what I can understand from the source, the 4.4 update makes the system way more fluid than the current version.
There's also ART, cloud printing, an improved car mode and screenshots manager.
The date bar under quick toggles now sits on top.
The press relase at the bottom states that an update is to happen within this month. It's unclear if this is for all markets.

Original message from 11/29/13
The LG G2 in 2014, an update to Android 4.4 Kitkat received by the end of the first quarter. This is confirmed by the manufacturer, to the CHIP Online.
LG G2: No Android 4.3
LG confirms that the G2 will get an update to Android 4.3. The software version is simply skipped. For the manufacturer, it probably is not worth it to provide for the short transition time Android 4.3. If and when other devices such as the Optimus G an update be received, the manufacturer leaves in the dark. (mwi / csg)

Oh I love this phone, Stock ROM is great , smooth and battery life is incredible fo rme andmy use.
Couple of things I would like to see is of-course what Samsung has.
(1) Multitasking pull tab from the side (do not much care about three fingers gesture)
(2) Split Screen so you have app on the top and bottom, Drop the app from above side tab.
(3) Create a contact from memo.
(4) Soft buttons disappear when not in use. ( guess I prefer HW butons so I have more screen space).
I hope they will update it to 4.4.2 directly.
Guys, please. All this info has already been revealed and discussed in depth: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528843

Is there any information if or when we will get the night mode addition to the camera on the snapdragon version of this phone? Allot of things I read said it was with the June update but I have nothing.
I am eager to see if the July update for Rogers to be released on the 29th has the camera enhancements.

It was in the June update for the Exynos versions. We have yet to see/hear anything about when it might be coming to Snapdragons. We usually lag behind the exynos versions on feature additions so it could still be a while.
I heard we are supposed to get it in they July update but that hasent come to any us carriers yet as far as I know

There is a CSF3 firmware up on Sammobile for our devices I think it is the July security patches but not positive. Someone commented on another thread they flashed it but didn't get night mode.
**EDIT** Sam moblie says it is June security patches. Here's to hoping we get it with the July update.
It would be nice to have this feature, but at the same time I have read articles that say it can be problematic. I am not sure if this would cause (or be the cause of) a delay in the night mode release...
https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s9-galaxy-note-9-camera-night-mode-frustrating-bug
Was thinking maybe it will be in July update. Usually with monthly updates at least one carrier would have pushed out the update by now so maybe this is a big one forthcoming.
Hi all!
First I need to say it's very quiet here. I guess I bought not the most popular phone
I wanted a reliable budget phone and couldn't decide between Moto G30 and Nokia 5.4. Eventually, Android One and alleged good support from Nokia helped me choose. So I received it today, and first thing I wanted to do is to update it to Android 11, but there's no update available. Wasn't it released in September? The security patch is still from June 2021. That's a bit disappointing... I even tried asking customer service via their chat, but they only sent me some ready copy-paste statements.
When can I expect any updates? How many of yous have already gotten Android 11?

I bougth mine two weeks ago and got the update in the first boot, I'm in latinamerica.
I emailed the customer service today, they asked me for IMEI and all that. They said I just need to wait for my update. Maybe different version for Europe, or UK?
I'll try VPN with some Latin American countries and see if I get it too
Edit: the only server is in Brazil, but it didn't work.
A.11 out of the box November 10 India
Android 11 has arrived in the UK. Had the update today. Build number 00WW_2_190, with October security patch and Google Play system

You're part of the "some phones" that updated to OneUI 5, the rest are scheduled for 2023
It's released. It's just that, your region is not yet rolling out the updates. You can try to check at sammobile.com or samfw.com by entering your phone's model number and CSC and see the list if it has A13 update. Sometimes, it is worth waiting since new Android OS means lots of bugs

s22 series will begin rollout in 2022, older models will be in 2023
Youre funny dude , already on A13 since two days ago .
S22+ already A13 bro

tmobile android 13 available for u1 on frija.
canadian models will be released nov 05
XSA S22+ already has Android 13
hello everyone, I currently have an s22+ from Argentina with Android 12 (906EXXUAVH9), can I put Android 13 from Panama(S906EXXU2BVJA) on it?
Thank you all.
Does anyone know if there will be an update to Android 13? Ever since the 13 update my battery life has been cut in half. And it doesn't charge anymore likely due to overheating. I currently have the 45W fast charger (genuine Samsung 2.0 charger) and it has charged 2% in one hour. The only way to get it to charge is either stick it literally right in front of a blasting ac unit or to not touch the phone at all or turn it off completely. Only then will it charge normally. This is a problem for many so I'm assuming Google must be working on a fix? I tried all the common fixes including booting safe mode to confirm and wiping cache partition, etc. Also made every possible adjustment to save power and reduce consumption. I do not want to wipe my phone just to try and fix this. Any help is much appreciated.
Today!
First, I have a Galaxy A21, not a A21s, but I didn't see my phone listed on your front page. Anyway, I thought I would post this in here. Hope that's OK?
So....after I finally got Android 12 I noticed the phone was slow and laggy. I got tired of it and attempted to downgrade to Android 11. I got ODIN and retrieved the Android 11 file for my exact phone off the SamMobile website. I followed the instructions on this page and proceeded. Three times now it has FAILED! Each time I get the error message 'An error has occured while updating the device. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software' .
So I got the Smart switch software and followed the instructions for using that, and each time I got 'this model does not support firmware upgrades and initialization'. I have a StraightTalk model of the phone, so I don't know if that has anything to do with this or not. Now my phone is stuck on the 'An error has occured while updating the device' screen and I'm starting to worry I've bricked it.
Can anyone here help me out with this?
Thank you
I got it to work. I downloaded the Android 12 files for my phone and used ODIN to flash my phone and it was successful. I guess maybe because of the model phone I have it's not possible to downgrade?

Check and see.
The 5th digit from the end of the bootloader version vs the build number tells you if you can.
That digit must be the same or lower than the build number.

Best advice... Rule #1 if the firmware is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission, let it be! Updates can and do break things. Hell I'm still running on Pie on this stock N10+ N975U. It hasn't been updated in 3 years, current load is over 2.5yo still fast, very stable with minimal maintenance. Security is simply not an issue. Forget the hype scare bs.
Anything from 9 up is relatively secure unless you do stupid things.
This is what an Android is capable of. Constant updates are counterproductive, they waste time and perpetuate endless cycles of troubleshooting and finding work arounds. For what?!
In older Samsung the last firmware updates can hamstring and cripple them. It's a Samsung tradition I have almost zero issues because I don't mess with the firmware... and it still runs like a bat of hell.
blackhawk, thanks for the reply, and the info.
I realized the phone was just not capable of running Android 12 and so I bought a new one - Galaxy A53 5G. I was pretty bummed I missed the sale on that phone at Walmart by one day - bought it for $260, but it had been on sale for a hundred bucks! Doh...
Anyway, the A53 is awesome. Better processor, more memory/storage, bigger battery and it came with Android 12 already on it. The phone is slated to get the next android and possibly a couple more after that so I should be set for a while.
Thanks again for replying to my thread and have a blessed Thanksgiving
