Remix OS and Safetynet - Remix OS for PC

Hello,
I am currently looking for a way to use my banking app (which uses Safetynet) with the Remix OS.
My problem is that the OS comes pre-rooted and I can't see any way to unroot it.
Furthermore, unrooting the system does not guarantee a postive system check by the Safetynet.
Does anyone know if it's possible to use an app that uses Safetynet with Remix OS?

I would also like to know the answer to this. I believe installing SuperSU to replace the SU that comes with Remix would allow for a more thorough removal of all supporting files, instead of just disabling the standard one.

That won't help, since any modification to /system also trips SafetyNet, since the last few updates, I believe.
You're either (partially) rooted, or you have a modified /system, and both cases trip SafetyNet.

Remove Root from NC5 to use Good email?

I'm on NC5 with MK2 bootloaders and my new company requires that I use Good For Enterprise as my email client. I've tried the Xposed module from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040163 along with an older version of Good as suggested, but I can't get it to work. I hate to give up root, but I have to be able to get work email on my phone so now I'm planning on removing Root. I really don't want to flash stock files if I don't have to because I at least have all the bloatware removed now and I know I can't do that if I flash stock without root.
So my question is what can i do to keep my current system as is, but remove ALL traces of Root? Is it as simple as going into SuperSU and doing a Full Unroot? I'm asking first rather than trying it because each time Good detects Root I have to request a new activation key and I've already done that once so I don't want to have to do it again if it's more complicated than that.
Also, will I have any issues with Knox after doing this?
Thanks
There is an Xposed module that will allow you to "trick" whatever app you want to think you're UNrooted but it's name escapes my memory at this moment...

You can do the Full Unroot, but first you must remove Busybox if it's installed.
THEN you can use SuperSU full unroot, then unistall SuperSU Pro (if you have it), then uninstall SuperSU.
The unroot.sh script that comes with Saferoot will get rid of busybox and leave you rooted so you can uninstall SuperSU.
Caution: if SuperSU is installed as a system app (/system/app/Superuser.apk) then you can't uninstall it using the application manager.
In that case, removing SuperSU by hand may be necessary.

I tried the Xposed module, which is posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040163 and I can't get it to work. I also can't get a response on that thread to tell me if I did something wrong. I simply installed the Xposed module and then installed a previous version of Good that others reported as working with the module. Not sure if I'm supposed to do anything in Xposed other than just install the module?
Thanks

OK dumb user error. I'm guessing this works a lot better if the Xposed installer is actually installed. I had forgotten to reinstall it after I upgraded to 4.4.2 and only the Wanam module was installed. Hopefully that will solve my issue.
Thanks for the responses.

Hello guys!
If you update to the latest Magisk version (v16.4), you will notice that it will now pass SafetyNet check.

I think it's just as good as SuperSU in handling root apps. The way Magisk stands out though is the modules. I would recommend that you install only the magisk manager (it does not mess with anything in your phone if you just install it), and browse through the list of modules it has. It's very similar to the way modules in xposed look like. Maybe you can find some interesting functionality in there.
I am using the greenify module (works much like boost mode on xposed), busybox, adblocker, systemiser (turns user apps in sys apps), debloater (completely uninstall user apps). There's a ton of mods though, I don't even understand what most actually do.
Keep in mind that having xposed installed will break safetynet no matter what. Magisk can't hide it.

Edit: i moved this issue to the Q&A and help section since more issues keep coming
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/help/finally-decided-to-switch-supersu-to-t3787201
just switched to latest stock rom (1.2.0 B10) and installed magisk (16.4). it works and safetynet passes. the problem i got now is that the greenify module fails to install in magisk (see screenshot)
do i gotta flash the module through TWRP maybe? still a newbie to magisk since the axon 7 is the first phone to have it working
EDIT: for some reason magisk doesn't remember which apps have requested root after a reboot. everytime i reboot i get a prompt to allow root access to all my root apps (like greenify). idk why this is happening. i mean, root itself is working as it should. i already uninstalled bloatware and disabled/freezed things like the powermanagement
I'm interested in knowing where Magisk is at

Hiding custom rom from bank app

Apparently, my bank updated the app with a new feature that doesn't let me access it anymore, it says that the operating system is not supported, i use a custom rom(AEX) in my Redmi 4x, i believe that the rom is the problem, the root is being hidden with MagiskHide and i have no problems with SafetyNet, maybe i can change some parameter in build.prop to make it work? i did something similar to try to run Fortnite in my phone a while ago, any ideas on what parameters may be relevant to that?
It's a brazilian bank(Banco Inter)
Need Solution for this Problem as Well
I have the same problem.
The new app version 8.4.6 is not working while up till version 8.4.5 it was working just fine.
Their support is absolutely clueless on how to help, but as @Levyks said, apparently they are blocking custom roms now.
Is it possible to make the custom rom look as an original rom from manufacturer?
Same problem.
I'm with the same problem...
IMHO has nothing to do with fact whether it's a Custom ROM or a Stock ROM. Any app ( banking apps included ) easily can find out whether present Android OS got tampered or not.
Same problem any help? Can't use my bank app... WhatsApp also can detect I have a custom ROM, any solution?

Many apps like banking / payment apps today detect whether Android is got rooted or not: it's an easy for them to do so.
Same problem here in Lineage OS 18.1. My non-rooted device pass safetynet and CTS by default. But many Banking application had started detecting that I am using custom rom and don't open at all. Then I rooted my device with magisk and enabled 'magisk hide' but no success.
Hi! A solution that worked for me: use the renaming function in Magisk (you can find it in the Settings).
I had the same problem on a Redmi 4X, LOS 16, no working banking app even with Magisk hide. After renaming Magisk, I was able to log in and use it as intended. Also I left Magisk hide turned on.
My guess is that these kind of apps are looking specially for Magisk, and if it's detected, they just won't let you use them.

Selecting custom rom for microG integration

Thanks to the guide created by pjottrr I successfully unlocked bootloader and rooted my device. Now I'm onto what I assume is the next step, which is to flash a custom rom via fastbootd?
Im aiming to 'degoogle' my device by getting rid of gapps and installing microG to substitute play services, though i'm not sure which custom rom is compatible with setting up microG.
Is there anyone here that can share their experience with a particular custom rom + microG integration? Or is there another method for what I'm trying to achieve

It isn't microG, but it does have FDroid app store baked in. It's a really solid ROM. The only glitch is with tethering. Tethering works exactly as it is supposed to but when you exit out it reboots the phone.

Thanks for the suggestion. Would I be able to install microG to replace the core gapps after flashing this rom onto my device? I was going to add the nanodroid magisk module to do so following This guide

There are NO gapps in this ROM. FDroid is a non google app store. You should be able to install microg without having to remove anything.

Well all that's left now is to try and give it a go. I'll report back once it's completed!
Ive flashed the rom! No problems it seems so far. Now im trying... but not sure how to install microG. The aforementioned guide says to install magisk manager to install microG. Only problem is that magisks latest release notes claim that magisk manager is no more, that its already inside the latest apk, which I installed when rooting. So how do I install microG using the manager supposedly baked into the latest apk?
Edit: I was able to install microG successfully. I didnt know that custom ROMs came unrooted. I rooted it following the same steps as the first time and then I was able to easily flash the microG module in magisk with no issues.
Thank you so much to all the people on this forum. Im a total noob and seemingly was able to successfully accomplish what I was after, with very minor hiccups(that were caused by my noobness of course haha)
Guess I might have spoken too soon.. On microG the permission to access location in the background, and permission to receive SMS arent ticked in the self-check menu. Any ideas on how I could go about easily fixing this?

You should be able to just click on the items which arent checked and microG will ask for the permissions so you can grant them in the pop-up

Ive tried this but to no avail. Oddly enough, I made a 2nd user account on the same device and on there microG has all the permissions checked.
I installed it via the magisk module. Do you think it would make a difference to try uninstalling it and maybe try installing via the f-droid store?
Check out my post here. I have successfully installed crdroid 7.4 with Nanodroid plus microG and a real Play Store.

I appreciate the tip, but this is for crdroid, I've already went with lineage and as of yet don't plan on switching to try something new. besides that, microG works fine on my 2nd user account which Ive switched to use and that I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread. And on my newly embarked journey to retain privacy and protect my data I've come to discover its better to use a second user account as your daily go-to account instead of your admin account which grants root permissions. My second use account doesn't have root permissions so in theory this should protect me better.
I guess what I thought was an issue with microG might have been a blessing in disguise since it's forced me to use it on my 2nd user account where all the permissions are granted and now I should be a bit more protected from root access attacks

Odd question- Magisk 'full' root?

Main question at the end of post.
I came across an app that said my device isn't rooted properly, when it is, or I thought it was?
Spyera is the app. For those not familiar, spyera is an app that is used to monitor devices, family members, employees, doesn't matter. Let's assume everyone owns the devices and those using the devices are aware. Not the point of the post.
spyera has a rooted and a non rooted version. The rooted version will not install on my devices. I talked to tech support and they are saying my device isn't a full root. Their software root algorithm says my phone isn't rooted. Basic root checkers and all of my apps requiring root seem to think my root is fine.
I have a few pixel 4xl device's and some samsung s21 ultras that are all rooted with magisk. All other root apps work fine.
This brings up my main question....is magisk a "full" root? Or is it something else?
Spyera tends to be a pretty reliable platform and if their software is saying I'm not rooted, I am curious what could be the reason.
Magisk is "full" root. If an app can't detect Magisk as a root solution it's poorly written.
And yes, that's a shady app... I'd be very careful with giving an app like that complete and full access to a device by giving it superuser permissions (or even install it in the first place). Also, doesn't sound like the company even knowns what they're talking about.
Thanks. And yes, very shady
@Didgeridoohan
Magisk ISN'T ROOT, it's a framework that allows to inject some functionalities into Android ecosystem.

And one of the parts of the Magisk suite of software is MagiskSU that provides root for Android applications... Sure, Magisk is more than "just" root, but when you talk about Magisk and root in the same context, generally it's understood that what you're actually talking about is MagiskSU.
But thanks for clarifying.
