I still have my old Note Edge so I was looking around the themes and apps thread for it and I just came across this link for the new (at least I'm assuming it's still new) Google Duo video calling app, so I figured I'd try it out on the v20 and it works like a charm so I figured I'd share the link here too (if you try it out just make sure to thank the original OP [emoji106]). Dafuq is dafuq supposed to mean lol? Unless it's just me but I never heard of it until I came across this link anyway, and I was honestly surprised because it actually works way better than I was expecting it to. My girlfriend has an iPhone (god bless her stupid little heart lol) and this app basically lets you "FaceTime" between Android and iPhone, she was able to download Duo from her app store and so far the quality on every call has been near perfect. Anyway just thought I'd share it in case anyone else is like me and could use it but never heard of it before.

It is a general forum....but I do admit this is odd. But it is humorous, and way better than the stupid **** that shows up here.
On a side note, the people who flame a post are just as bad as the idiot who posted it. I mean, another great forum that I visit once in a while (nothing like I do here) is phandroid's forums. Yes there is stupid **** posted there, but it is either ignored and someone kindly responds and aids the confused individual. Here...it turns into a week long flame war.

For worst case 50 Dollars if you were a 4G Owner, the 3VO has got to be one of the most cost effective upgrades ever in Cell Phones.
Even if one finds 3D hokey, the Storage Space, far superior Processing Power, qHD Display, Sense 3.0 (I know some do not care for it), etc, the juice is so worth the squeeze that it is laughable.
My main annoyance is how far out the Camera is from the Casing. I kept the Plastic Wrapping on the Phone until I put it in an Otterbox Defender. I wish the Commuter had Protection for the Camera as the Defender is a beast, but it is what it is.

There is an article on this here. Downloading and installing in a second. I think it's hilarious that Apple made this their top marketing point for the 4S and in 8 hours, something incredibly similar gets developed (not to mention other apps that work pretty much the same, like Vlingo and such).

Using it right now, it's not like Siri, but I'm sure it will get there, pretty similar to Vlingo, although this one seems to be quicker, at least for me.

I installed it and uninstalled it roughly five minutes later. It is definitely an alpha (as noted in its title) and in its current state, it's nothing more than a concept app. It has potential though!

Eva is actually pretty responsive with a lot of command options. Like setting reminders, calendar dates, texts, etc. Still getting to know the program a bit better but so far its pretty good.
Pretty cool I think. It gave me a couple laughs. I wish it didnt speak the question or statement you asked, and really wish the voice wasn't so annoying and more smoother. But its still early, can't wait for more updates. I'm enjoying it.

One thing I don't care much is for the UI on Iris or Eva. I think Devs might consider more of a ICS UI. That's why I'm currently using Vlingo, clean and slick, with no cheesy avatar, or play-school looking UI.

i couldnt agree more. this app is actually awesome and cant wait for more updates, but i would like the UI to be on par with the rest of the Android UI. you know, look cooler

Thats soooo olddd omg. There is an app called carrier iq to tell if u if you have it. Most of providers have removed and almost every single custom rom has it removed. Dude this article is form december 2011.
That's old news. Like, really old. Look at the date on the article. Verizon doesn't use CIQ on any of it's devices. It may use something else, but so far we don't know of anything, so any claims otherwise are just FUD.

yep, well the manufacture knew about it. the users didnt and thats one thing that sparked the quest to remove it.
android devs will always find a way to make the platform better. iOS devs are just happy with what they have :angel:

I would assume (and this may be themers problem too) that it is related to a complaint by Apple regarding the use of their copyrighted material,or maybe I am wrong.But this doesn't just affect themer users but users of other launchers too.
My guess is that is what got them pulled from Google Play.

there is a post about the complaint apple made on espier.org that mentions the copyright infringement.An official comment would have been nice from the themer guys,I have spoken to a few people who are reluctant to install it because of the pull.

They might not be able to say anything. Copyright laws are pretty tough and when you get lawyers involved it gets nasty. The Jack Daniels and NFL themes are gone too.

yeah good point,so we would have to speculate that this is the reason,and as you say more are being removed
I initially suspected that Apple was involved in the removal of these themes. Sucks, but what I feared was realized. Such a lame move on a part of these large corporations going after a small but enthusiastic minority of app users.

Hi, any brand name themes have now been removed to protect Themer from getting pulled again from the Play Store due to copyright violations. We apologize for the inconvenience
may be diligent to mention this over at mycolorscreen to any theme creators,or next thing you know apple will complain that you are creating a program that allows users to incorporate their design ?
What bugs me is that they should be flattered that us "android" users want their design on our superior devices,or is it more like jealousy that the designer did a better job than they did :laugh:
I used to love the jack daniel's theme, is there ANY way to get it back... i had it set for a few days but then wanted to try out something new, n now its gone :crying:

if i redesign all the icons LIKE apples themes they cant do nothing.
so guys expect a theme like iOS soon i wont include a wallpaper with it but i will design icons close to apples, i hate them so much, im not doing it for the theme, im simply doing this to show them they dont have as much power as they think

im going to post a theme with icons LIKE apples but made from scratch and slightly different colors so APPLE cannot do nothing, thus allowing Themer to use the theme.

True. I did a temp job for a copyright lawyer years ago and they can be very picky. Especially like Apple, who has money to spend on useless lawsuits.

your correct but like i said going over copyright laws/violations if no original resources are used then legally noones can do nothing, the icons wont be the exact shape as apples but very alike!
