I notice that a lot of people with LG SU370/KU3700/LU3700 phones come to the Optimus One forums, and get no answers. Apparently, most of us already here think that the people with questions about the LG SU370/KU3700/LU3700 are in the wrong section.
You guys are wrong.
The LG SU370/KU3700/LU3700 are all the Optimus One; they are all identical to the P500 model, except that they are the South Korean version. LG gives different model names to their South Korean units, and different model names for each carrier that has their unit.
So, once more, LG SU370/KU3700/LU3700 = P500.

Good question. But no, you cant. You can try it but it has 95% chance of bricking the phone. So at your own risk...
I'm planning to buy the LG G5 but I really want the H850 variant so I can have an unlocked bootloader. I understand it's only the European variants that have this, but I can't find any information about the model numbers of the Canadian carriers (specifically: Telus and/or Koodo). I suspect they'll be similar to the US models, but I'm holding onto hope that us Canucks might have H850's too!
My question: Are any of the Canadian carriers selling the LG G5 H850?
If that's not the case, is it possible to use an H850 on a Canadian network? (I'll probably have to do my own homework on this question).
The Canadian Model is H831
I hav not seen any other model for sale in Canada.

When purchasing my LG G4, I researched the LG G3 and saw the support. If you guys looked up the LG G4 prior to buying the G5 you would realize that there will be nothing or very little support for the device as the only 1 version have an unlocked bootloader. The others will never get it. This phone will turn out worse than the LG G4 which was extremely bad.
HI,
Is the LG G5 H860 is impacted by QuadRooter as it's not yet rooted?
Bye,
Proc.
I wish I saw this thread before I bought mine, LOL! I'm sure we'll get root eventually though.

agreed!!
The LG G5 is a really great smartphone, coming from a Note 5, I can say that it's the best phone that I ever used .
However, using a phone that its manufacturer is locking its bootloader makes me nervous ! The disability to root my device makes me uncomfortable ...
Has anyone tried using the H860N technique shown in this video (below) on their H860?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trWtvmCstGE
Not compatible bro. Also this guy has an old samsung in his video...
I was thinking about switching to LG5, but I'm glad I visited this forum for info before doing so. I guess I will just continue my quest. Thank you all.

Is there no section at all for the LG v35?

No. It's V35 is completely different phone from V30. (It's a V like the V10 or V20, but it's a different phone.) XDA mods say there's not enough demand to have a dedicated V35 forum.
So, the V35 is homeless. The solution is any V35 post posted in XDA should be tabbed as "V35". Then you can search for other scattered threads all over XDA. This means for V35, you can even post in V10 or V20 section, if you want. Apparently the only alternative to this "tagging" is to throw all the V35 threads into "Android General Development" section.
2018 V35 is actually closer to 2018 G7 internally than 2017 V30. V35 and G7 are both "Judy" code name variants. Besides both being 2018 with Snapdragon 845...
V35 is code name "JudyP".
G7 is code name "JudyN".
Whereas V30/30+/V30S are all code name "Joan".
So, maybe post there in G7 forum?

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding the LG G5 VS987. My so recently bought an LG G5 VS987 refurb which came unlocked and with a Verizon Oreo rom (which has quite a few intrusive Verizon apps) and I would like to know if there's any way for this specific model to be converted to an unlocked North American model or any "international" version that doesn't have these apps and other things? Or any that at least still gets some security patches? Just wondering, because I recently converted (Frankenstein method) an LG V30 H931 (AT&T) to a US998, and I remember similar procedures for the LG G3 back in the day and the Galaxy S4.
There's a program called lgup dualmode that you can use for crossflashing, but i can't confirm if it works for the g5 and it may brick your phone

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of it, used it for the V30 but could not find if something similar can be done with the G5.
