Do you have bubbles under the protection? Do you see the protection or is your shield really invisible ?
For my first two devices I used Brando anti-glare protectors (shop.brando.com.hk) and was very happy. It was a couple of years ago though, so they may have changed since.
But whatever you do, don't buy Proporta!
Their protectors are too small for the screen of the TyTN, and when (on their recommendation) you return the protector they will not send you a replacement. And when you tell them how unhappy you are with the situation they just stop answering your emails.

If applied properly & very carefully, then there are no bubbles. I have none, and it's transparent.
I use exim screen protector. I can definitely recommend it to anyone.
i agree with tiatrop,
i use the exim SPUC screen protectors on all my devices.
you can peel them off and reapply them,
the instruction says you can even wash them, but i've yet to try it.
and any bubbles when putting them on, can easily be pushed out.
I agree with bamse, I've been using Brando for years, I did try another brand on my C500 a couple of years back, they didn't come up to scratch. I'm using on my herm, no probs no bubble (you need to spend a little time carefully applying).
Boxwave has some good screen protectors. I'm using their crystal clear on my 8525 now and had the anti-glare on my HP iPAQ.

I washed mine once. It fell on the carpet so you can imagine the things that got stuck there! Damaged the corner a little bit but it was completely reapplyable, and I managed to get all the dust out with scotch-tape. Hence my recommendation.
Wow, thank you all for you recommendations. I definitely check them out.
But is there a way to apply a SP, without having bubbles? What you mean exactly with "carefuly"?
Do you use credit cards for that? I red that credit cards for appling are an evil thing.
I guess it's tall order to say make a youtube tutorial, haha...
cheers

I actually had this on my previous 8525 that I had to send back for warranty replacement. It is a booger to put on..took me a good half hour to do it right. The cutout pcs are not all exactly perfect but fit good enough. I really like it. It held up very well, gave the phone a slick glossy finish and made for good traction when I would set my phone down on my center console in my truck.(previously if I tried that it would slide(actually fly) off the vinyl covered console if I hit the brakes too hard or turned a corner too fast... with the Shield on there it never slipped. I am going to order another one now for this warranty replacement as well..just been waiting to make sure this device didnt fail before installing another shield!

wouldnt a credit card or anything similar work?
I've been using screen protectors for some time now on my previous and current PDA's and phones; HP has a nice system of protectors that have grids on the removable side to assist in visually getting the best fit. Would never use my 8525 without one... and yes, anything like an old credit card, cut to the right size, will work to get air bubbles out.
But thanks to this thread, I've now ordered the Bodyshield; if it's all it's claims to be, AND with a lifetime guarantee, it should be worth the $24.95.

It does not come with tools, but the instructions recommend a credit card. Note that this is re-applyable if U have bubbles on the 1st try.
Hi All, since a lot of us are getting the shift now, i guess it's time to think about which screen protector you are going to use, personally i always enjoy the Martin Field Overlay Screen protector, but they don't seems to have one for the shift yet, what do you guys think? found any good screen protector you are going to use?
Hi,
My shift was delivered with a screen protector, I have placed it on the first day and it looks really good. There was no brand on it, so I cannot tell about the manufacturer.
So far I am vey satisfied with it.

yes, i am aware of that, it just i have been using HTC for more then 7 years now, past experience told me i better wait for better screen protector, because once you put it the HTC one, it's so difficult to remove it, and if you do try to remove it and swap it with something else, you leave a mark on the screen, some user even experience bend and uneven screen because the original one is just so sticky.
There don't seem to be many screen protectors specifically for the Shift yet, I'm sure there will be soon. I fitted the included one but not very well, I managed to get a couple of dust specks under it.
I've ordered some generic 7" protectors from Durasec http://www.durasec.com/catalog/index.php?language=en
I also ordered one of their liquid nanotech screen protector kits, don't know much about it but it appears to be a liquid which you spray onto the screen to form a seal. Should be interesting...
Is it neccessary?
Hi,
please, give me an answer to a stupid question?
Is it really necessary to apply a screen protector. Why don't the manufacturers do it in the first place.
What are the advantages, what the disadvantages. Okay, protection comes to mind as an advantage, but shouldn't the original screen be resilient enough?
I'd really like to here some informative opinions.
I have been using a HTC Vario II for some time now without any protection and I can't detect any scratches.

Has anyone managed to find a decent screen protector yet?
Pantaloonie - how was the durasec one?
I've received them, but haven't got round to removing the original and trying them out. The liquid one is a bit strange, apparently you spray it on the screen then spread it with the included cloth, and it forms a protective layer.... or something. Think I'll be testing that on a cheaper device first!

I've got the original on but I have a scratch on the screen and wanted to remove it to see if its just the screen protector or the actual screen that is scratched. Have tried in vain to get at it to peel it off...
Just managed to get a corner - it came off no problem and thankfully the scratch isnt there! Just need a new protector now, my OCD is starting to kick in. Let me know how you get on with the Duratecs! Cheers

I'd leave it on if I were you - I only took mine off as it had a hair underneath and I was losing sleep over it. Took a while but once you get a hold of a little corner it lifts off no problem. I've emailed HTC to ask if they can send me another but I'm notn holding my breath.
Would stay away from the standard Duratec - waste of £8. Let me know if you try the liquid one though!
Hi -
Anyone used the liquid Duratec shield on the Shift yet?

Duratec Crap
Hi,
today I removed the original Screen and tried Duratec, the cheap screen protector. They have also got a hightec version or something like that.
Crap! Crappier! Crappiest sheet of **** you can think of.

But which one is really recommendable?
Thanks!

How did you remove the original screen protector without damaging the display? What is the problem with the Duratec screens?
Hi,
removal was difficult, but I did it. I don't know the exact English words. I used this sticky tape which you wrap up parcels with, tape is of a brownish colour. That I stuck onto the screen protector until it lifted in one corner.
Duratec is thin and cheap material and I guess it is not possible to get it on the screen without lots of bubbles.
Now I have ordered a protector from Brando, was that the name?
We will see.
S.
I really like the anti glare screen protector from www.pocketpctechs.com . I use it with my both my SMT5800 cellphone and my Motion Tablet PC. I'm hoping I can get one sized for the Shift. But my Shift is not here yet so I don't know the size. I can't even tell I have a screen protector with this brand.
screen protector abuse
Hi,
any news about the "best" protector.
In the meantime I have abused 4 or 5. Duratec's cheap ones aren't of any other use than to clean the screen from dust particles.
I tried the Brando "ultra clear" was that the name? Relativ easy to apply, but in the end I fiddled with it too long. Had to peel it off.
Next I tried Brando "plus". Easily to apply, but foil slipped underneath the edge of the screen, when lifting it up to clean off a piece of fluff the protectors edge was damaged.
But the last one is really easy to apply. But, but, they or the distributers just declared them to be for the Shift, originally they are for the eee, how many eeeees were there?
So the screen protector doesn't really fit. At the edges there the foil doesn't cover about 1 or 2 millimeters of the Shift's screen.
Maybe somtime soon they will sell a protector that is for the Shift.
Please, if anyone has got the ultimate protector mention it here:
perfect fit and easily to apply would be nice features.
S.
I've been Googling, eBaying, and Amazoning (last fictional verb sounds kinda cool) for a common, flat case for my Tab 2 7.0.
It has become my number one remote control, so you can probably understand how uncomfortable a flip case is, adding an extra step every time I want to change a channel, or having a cover hanging (why in the world are 95% of the cases are now "folio"?!). Also, most cases either block the IR transmitter entirely, have some part obstructing it partially, making it mandatory to aim with "the" angle towards my TV set.
I have found a few silicon cases on eBay, but they have an S line, or weird X across the whole thing, that just make the device look fugly to me. No offense if someone likes it or has it, as we know, everyone has different taste.
I'd like to just get a regular, non-flip, non-folio, non-X-or-any-character-of-the-alphabet-drawn, plain cover, that protects the rear of my device, and doesn't obstruct the IR blaster at all. How hard can it be? The perfect fit for me would be a flat, matte black rubber thingy, with a hole where the blaster is... so simple, and inexistent! Maybe even better, a hard case.
Anyone found something, somewhere?
OtterBox
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Defender Series Case
I've looked but haven't found any.
I tried out the S curve case that was made for the GTab Plus and it fit horribly. It's too bad that the Gtab 2 isn't popular enough to have more cases. I was hoping for a Cruzerlite case, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

Yeah, I've seen it. I'm not sure it fits the "simple, flat" criteria, although I think I'd buy it if it didn't cost 1/3 of what my tablet did
I agree that Otterbox is pricey. I also hate the frame around the screen on the front.
Why not just get one of these cheap tpu style cases and just cut the tabs off that hold the cover?

That's exactly what I planned on doing if I couldn't find anything... get rid of the cover, and/or punch a hole for the IR sensor on the ones that are designed for P3100.

Got one, and it fits perfect! I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
PS: Anyone has tried matte/antiglare screen protectors? Been thinking about one, but not really convinced.
Try the Capdase silicone case for Tab 7.0 plus. Although mine is the folio type, (silicone case with IR blaster slot + leather folio) their plain silicone (w/o the leather case) seems exactly what you're looking for. Just plain flat black silicone, no x or s or whatever. just plain flat.

Do the corners of that case create a bit of a bevel/lip where they clamp on the tab? In other words, when you put the tab face down on a desk/table, is there a space between the screen and desk/table or is it flush?

I prefer the matte over the clear screen protector. The clear one gets sticky at times, the matte is always smooth and you don't have to worry about hairline scratches and reflections in your screen.

Now, the long overdue pictures . Since the back surface is mostly flat (that was the idea), I concentrated mostly on showing how it fits the tablet. My apologies for the narrow depth of field... unfortunately I didn't have my tripod's plate with me, so I had to take the pictures handheld, and the only way to get a steady shot was with a large aperture.
This is the general look of it:

Dealextreme tends to be somewhat slow compared to individual sellers from Ebay, I believe this is because DX is the "middleman" liasing between customers who place orders and the suppliers who advertise their products whereas on Ebay, the sellers are the suppliers who respond directly to customer orders.

I was searching fora good screen protector for the phone... Xperia z ultra need one for front and back.. but could not find one... ordered one tampered glass screen protector from ebay and waiting for its delivery. then i found this campaign a coating that make phone scratch resistant. we can apply it on front and back.. It costs 20 to 25 dollars only..Here is what they have to say............
So what is Liquid Sapphire and how does it work ?
Liquid Sapphire is a DIY coating that stops your phone, tablet or any touch screen from getting scratched, ditch your old plastic shield protector and get the full clarity of your screen using liquid sapphire, it’s invisible, contains man-made liquid sapphire which is second only to diamonds in hardness. Liquid Sapphire is a one time Nanotechnology application and does not need to be topped up.
Liquid Sapphire improves the clarity of your screen, the effect is caused by the Sapphires in liquid which will be a technology used in all touch screen devices over the years to come.
Specifications
Works with any touchscreen device and camera lenses.
Scratch resistant & waterproof.
Life Span : Permanent, Cannot be removed .(It can only be removed by commercial polishing or commercial acid, e.g. hydrochloric acid.)
Invisible coating
External Coating : Yes
Internal Coating : No
Shelf Life : 18 months from opening
Non Toxic
Non Hazardous.
Liquid Amour is a lacquer, Liquid Sapphire is a invisible coating that contains Sapphire. Auto Glass coatings will be waterbased and are no where near in the same league, to coat it with Liquid Sapphire would cost more than the glass even at cost !
Sapphire is second to diamonds in the scale of hardness in natural mineral stones.
Transparency and hardness Sapphire is not only highly transparent to wavelengths of light between 150 nm (UV) and 5500 nm (IR) (the human eye can discern wavelengths from about 380 nm to 750 nm[37]), but is also extraordinarily scratch-resistant. Sapphire has a value of 9 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness.
Hardness Example 10 diamond 9 sapphire 8 beryl 7.5 garnet 6.5-7.5 steel file 7.0 quartz (amethyst, citrine, agate) 6 feldspar (spectrolite) 5.5-6.5 most glass 5 apatite 4 fluorite 3 calcite, a penny 2.5 fingernail 2 gypsum 1 talc

I think this is great once you remove the ASF at the back because its gonna coat the glass at the back... But the problem is the front, I think that this will only be beneficial if applied directly to the glass but not with our ASF since its technically just a film and not as solid as glass below it... So you'll have to remove the front ASF to get the full benefits of this nanotech liquid screen protector
Says right on his site under application guide
"Liquid sapphire does not work on plastic or metal"
wont work on our phone unless we remove the ASF

Yes, using their transparent skin+screen protector combo
It's a great choice to get the best aesthetic from your phone,
but the display quality reduces a bit compared to other screen protectors
(maybe because of my faulty wet apply)
This is the ****test company I've dealt with, I don't recommend it to anyone. I received my screen protector and skin stapled which means they were damaged. Sent them an email, they didn't reply then, I escalated the issue to paypal and they replied after 10 days just to waste more of my time and paypal then offerd a refund if I'm going to ship the items back, for god sake it's only 19.01 USD so I cancelled the case and took the loss. My main issue is I received my phone and didn't have a screen protector for it. This is the difference when you buy something professional like DBrand and something cheap like these Gadgetshieldz.
