Currently, I'm working on porting for this decide. If you haven't got rid of this phone, wait for a bit and I will come back!
Actually, CM7 is ready. I'm working on CWM and on other rom. I hope it will work.... If not, well, I will try to make it work

thank you for support! But my stupid computer broke D: when it will return home, I will work again to make something boot on this phone. Don't lose hope! For the moment... You can root it if you haven't done it. Gingerbreak works like a charm, tested on 20+ devices!
I hope my pc comes back soon...
My CM7 port for LG Optimus Chat!
I just released a port of CM7 for the LG Optimus Chat, based on the North American firmware! Should work well :fingers-crossed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/rom-cyanogenmod-7-2-rc1-port-lg-c55x-t2862429 - Gave me a nine days battery life with screen on an hour or so and 3G enabled! Pretty good for such a small phone!
Hello All
Okay this might sound like a noob question, but will it be possible for the devs to port some of the cool S3 features like Smart Stay, and the ability to call someone from the SMS window to the S2?
I mean I just wanna ask that since the S3 kernel has now been released, are we going to see custom S2 ROMs in the future with S3 features? Because some of the cool new features are hardly dependent on the new S3 hardware. For example, Smart Stay.
Thanks,
yes why not, just wait for it
i'm waiting for this too patience is a virtue!

Actually I meant that if you have an SMS conversation open and when you put up the phone to your ear, it automatically dials the number.
Apparently you can flash the full S3 stock ROM on a S2, just search it. I assume this gives you all that functionality. And there are workarounds to get S Voice on your phone. I don't know about the other stuff.

Cite your source please.
I find this EXTREMELY hard to believe, as the S2 doesn't have the hardware to support all the features in an actual full S3 firmware.
More likely, you saw an S2 ROM that contained the TouchWiz UX port, and themed to look as close as possible to an S3.

your are wrong dear , and you may make someone hardbrick his phone if he read your post , flashing firmware of any other phone even if it was galaxy s2 but not the international version will end mostly with ahard bricked phone " you can say that apiece of plastic"

I think you misunderstood the context of his post. It appears that juzerali was agreeing with MY post, which was expressing a high amount of doubt that there exists a full s3 ROM that is flashable to an s2.

Well then I apologise, I'm still at a laptop, I thought a search would be able to validate what I said. Obviously I don't mean that someone should flash a ROM meant for the S3 on a S2! But thanks for the good community involvement...
There are threads about the S Voice workaround though (I'm still on phone so difficult to reference source, sorry)

no need to apologise , there are alot of people that they will not search before flashing there phones so that they may flash the s3 directly and then they will come here and say , what is the wrong with my phone
btw , s-voice is working nice in my phone , just edited tow lines in the build.prop
so that it will think my phone is 19300 and the server can't filter out my data
and i heared that , there is modifeied s-voice that will work without modifing build.prop , don;t know

Here's what I read earlier: you can use the s3''s UX Launcher on the S2:
http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-touchwiz-launcher-ported-galaxy-s2-89525/
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-gt-i9100-touchwiz-ux-launcher-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300-90791/
http://www.google.co.za/url?sa=t&so...4YnXDw&usg=AFQjCNG_qWkR2-JMd4jeEYwr8toM34Gs2Q
But I don't believe the UX Launcher gives you the 'cool' capabilities of the S3...or maybe it does?
Once again I apologise for reporting on the wrong thing earlier

Yes you can use the s3 launcher but sure will not give you the awesome features , just hope that we can use some software features that aren't hardware related in our beloved s2

I think its not possible, because its works due to sensor that mean by hardware... which is missing in S2...

May be it is nice to port s3 features to s2 but then the power requirements may be more and your battery may not be sufficient. And most of the features of the s3 thar are not in s2 are power intensive.

Nothing I've seen been looking my self. I've tried a few to no avail. Framaroot, kingo root, towelroot, none of which work.
I also need to root this device. Kitkat is really a pain. SD card is really useless with it. Root can only save my tablet from being tossed. Anyone have discovered root?
Nothing yet! We must wait! XDA is the only i trust from the past!!! For rooting and for they apps for rooted phones and tamplets!
Unfortunately this tab can't be rooted as of now, Tested "King ROOT & One Click". both didn't work, But to be fair let's give it a bit more time for the developers to put on attention, this tab has potential

I have install many games (and unistall them for memory)! Is good! Fast with no lag to anything! The only games i see problem is from Nvidia Tengra or Shield which are not compatible with Samsung Galaxy Tab E!
I agree with your request to the root of this device, I hope that developers will soon find a way.
I do not understand why there are several guides that give kingroot working on this device.
Yea, waiting on root myself.

Those sites you've mentioned are gathering traffic, i tried informing them to stop misleading by sending them a post. So for now i think we should stick to XDA. Hopefully some devs will hear us...
think there is some hope of root?
I'm waiting for this also. This tab comes with 8GB and to use my SD with link2SD i want to root it. But XDA worths the patience so lets hope it will be soon.
Maybe the problem to the root, is due to processor uncommon.

I Don't think it has something to do with the Processor, But who knows? i might be wrong. Anyways it all comes down to the firmware and the attention to the devs who has the unit in hand.

however, this tablet is really bad, no root becomes almost unusable

I agree, but for now let's cross our fingers, anyways if things won't go well for our tabs, then it's high time to sell it or have it as a portable media tablet for movies and so on... But yes i am thinking of selling my tab, since i have the note 10.1... But still i would love to have my tab "E" rooted.
i found this chinese site for our tablet.. i think this is the only to root our phone that is flashing a prerooted stock rom.. i havent tried it yet,, here is the link and tell me what you think about this..

General Manager of Android and Chrome at Lenovo, Jeff Merideth recently mentioned that since other companies will be working on new Tango phones for the 2017 year, it only makes sense for Lenovo to do the same. He mentions that since they have already made their first device, if they can make a second generation while others are creating their initial offering, they should be quite a bit ahead of the game.
The company had 6,000 developers purchase the device online and at events since the launch

And where are those devs? I feel like I'm the only person on XDA trying to do something for this device.
Also a total sale of 6k devices makes it depressing when thinking about porting LineageOS, so much work for so little..
I made that super simplified root guide and there were not more then 5-6 people interested
(Sorry just me feeling depressed with myself when thinking about further development for this device)

I personally root for Xposed and ability to remove any system app I don't want. I also like the ability to run root for add blocking app. I like to back up apps with titanium backup when changing devices. Plus many more like twrp bckp, advanced power menu, color/themed icons etc. Just to name a few.

Thanks I sure appreciate your work I was about to resale when I couldn't get root. Now I am content with the device and that's thanks to you and the Russian Lenovo Forums. Thanks again!!!
Can i ask you what system apps did you remove? I removed with success (no root i disabled for user zero from adb) "user experience" app, but i want to remove all the ****.
Thank you!
I have noticed some subtle changes in my phone recently despite it not having any updates, and while in the support page for "nearby" I noticed it said that I am running a custom android version.
I have read up lightly on rooting and custom ROMs, mostly here, and my questions are; is this normal? If not what should I do about it? How, and why would this be done?
Edit: my phone is a Galaxy J3 Orbit

No, but I know exactly when it would have happened. And who was fully capable of it. Who was also the only person with the opportunity to.
And a custom ROM IS way better. If you choose to install one, you choose the one that you install, and complete the whole process in a secure way that best suits your needs. I doubt one that is secretly installed is there for my benefit. And I feel like you should know that
