Hello all,
I am just trying a bit around with kernels, I downloaded the kernel source code for HTC Desire HD and I wondered if you just compile the kernel source code if it works under a AOSP ROM.
So actually the question is, what is the difference between a AOSP and Sense kernel from a dev point of view?
Thanks in advance.
You cannot use a sense kernel on an AOSP Rom, but I am sure they have to use some drivers from the published sense kernel source in AOSP builds.

Yes, I know I can't use a Sense Kernel on a AOSP and vice versa, but what I want to now what the actual difference is in the kernel itself (which files are different, which kernelsettings etc.)
you can compare them together
Does anyone know the best kernel or ROM music (S6 920F) which draw from it maximium (Wolfson chip) ? ?
I am not familiar with that particular device (I own the Samsung J5), but try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/4011?query=920f
If maximum music enhancement is your goal, I would suggest looking into Viper4Android (3rd party equalizer/sound processor) and/or PowerAmp player (amazing music player with amazing equalizer and sound effects).
Boeffla kernel was made at the Wolfson but unfortunately not on the S6
About what I mean kernel dedicated to the sound, or ROM.
Now I use:
* 1) Noble S7 edge 3.0 deodex
* 2) arter97 kernel
* 3) + ViperFx modyfication mixer_patch
But I'm looking for something even better.
Seeking kernel dedicated to the sound S6 looking for already two weeks and I can not find why I ask.
How about Kernel Adiutor? You could tweak your kernel to the way you like, instead of flashing someone elses. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor
To control the sound settings kernel must have this option built
(It must be modified by the author of the kernel that it does) or you need to download the zip pack and flash TWRP example, in some kernels have options for audio settings such as kernel hacker or arter97, and for example on the stock kernel does not work Viper must be a Custom Kernel.
From what I see boeffla kernel was made at the Wolfson audio chip, thanks for the information.
I recommend applications ,,synapse,, to the kernel settings
Are there any EUI based roms with KCAL? Or is it possible to manually add it to them? If so how?
Or if not what is the most compatible rom to use with it? I heard people say Omni ROM Android 7 version but that doesn't seem to come with KCAL? At least it doesn't mention it - how do you add it to it?
The reason i'd rather stay with EUI is I don't want camera issues (and also would like the IR remote to work).
Thanks!
Anyone?
I'm on Omni 7 (great rom) and it does come with kcal, under settings>omni gears>device features>display color (kcal) but it doesn't have any effect. I do however use the screen settings on kernal auditor (with blackscreen kernel) and it works great. I have found reducing saturation intensity to 20, and minimum RGB value to 35, greatly improves the display and makes the reds in particular much more natural and less garish.
Also camera works perfectly on this rom (I use pixel camera mod) and remote works fine. No need to stay on ****ty eui.
If you want to stick to EUI you can try this kernel with kernel auditor for kcal

Oh thanks for the reply!
Could you give me a quick overview of what I have to do then?
Can I flash Omni 7 straight over the top of Small EUI or do i have to go back to stock first? Do i need to do the "wipe everything" while flashing with twrp?
I thought that the underlying linux kernel was basically part of the rom and so you couldn't really then add a random kernel to an existing cfw but that the rom itself had to choose a kernel to build upon? So you're implying that's not the case and you can just add blackscreen to any rom?
And it says it's discontinued, is it still okay to use? https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/kernel-blackscreen-leeco-x2-t3604445
Would i want 3 or 3.5.i ?
And what's the pixel camera mod, is it just an app or do you need to do anything special?
Just give me a quick overview of steps
If i can sort this then i can finally start using my phone properly
Thanks

Are you sure lambda kernel had kcal support?
I don't think lambda kernel does - i just installed the zip of it with twrp and i can't find any "screen" option in the menu of kernel adiutor (why does it have such a weird misspelt name?).
Reading the lambda kernel thread it seems kcal is not yet supported but people are asking for it so it may happen.
Yes Omni 7 can be flashed over small eui as long as you format system, data, etc. And it works fine with Blackscreen kernel 3.5.
Pixel camera is a port of the Google camera app on their Pixel Phone, with great features like HDR+ and portrait mode. Highly recommended.

Aosp - the stock vanilla android code which Google provides. It's nothing and without any feature in itself.
Lineage - They modify the aosp source code according to themselves and add features like customisation, advanced reboot etc. Usually they replace googles code with their own, thus making a difference.
Gzosp - kinda same to los and they add their own basic feature like advanced reboot etc. But their additions are less than los. And they don't really modify the code.
All of the above serve as a base rom. But since los is much more modified it makes a rom itself. You can actually use a base gzosp rom but it won't have that many features like los in the begining.

Gzop integrate from CAF as well and probably that's the reason why its relatively smoother than LOS or AOSP base roms
hi guys
i need best custom rom based on CAF
also the fp is so slow on every rom i tried till now ( RR,CRDROID,AOSP)
is there any thing to make it faster ?
Pixel Experience is working great on both AOSP and CAF bases. There might be some media playback issues on the CAF build, depending on your setup.
Fingerprint detection is good, but you can also try a different kernel.
is there any other rom like the pixel but with some tweaks

RevengeOS 2.2
"on topic" conversation would be pretty
PM is there for some reason ?
Best ROM for mido is official Oreo Lineage OS.
It's not CAF but its developers know what they are doing.
