Minimum frequency 122MHz.
Intro:
Well, it seems that many people don't want to overclock because of heat, stability..., and just want to have benefits of an undervolted cpu. So here it is my friends. Default voltage level of our kernel is 3-4-5-6-7.
Source on github : https://github.com/doixanh/X8Features
Release history
April 20. v001. Undervolted at the level like X8Overclock: 0-2-3-5-7. If you have sudden reboots with out "SD card safe to remove", please report here.
Requirements:
- Rooted
- Baseband x15
Installation:
Manual installation: it will be better if you can do this way. From now on I will not provide update.zip for xRecovery, because there are some different modules now.
- Download appropriate x8uv-vXXX.zip (for X8), or x8uv-vXXX-x10m.zip (for X10 mini), or x8uv-vXXX-x10mp.zip (for x10 mini pro) below, unzip
- Remount /system as rw
- Push x8uv.ko in to /system/lib/modules
- Edit /system/etc/hw_config.sh, add one line at the beginning
Code:
insmod /system/lib/modules/x8uv.ko # x8 undervolt
Kept phone idle overnight and noticed battery loss 0%.
Didn't give update.zip (for xRecovery) as it may replace your custom changes in build.prop and custom tweaks in hw_config.sh
Disclaimer
Code:
This module is dangerous! It may lead to system instability and may damage your hardware. I'm not responsible if this module kills your lovely phone. Use it at your own risk!

will this affect the CPU performance?
Hi death. First of all thank you for your useful work. I'm going to try this right now.
A few questions first:
a) I have mini cm rc2 with thw right kernel of course . Is it compatible ?
b) Minicm Rc2 has overclocking . It doesn't include undervolt too , does it?
c) I have set my frequrncy to 768 MHz. WIth the undervolt will i have any impact at the performance of my phone ? Will it be slower ?
That's all. Thanks foy your time

this module seems to be unuseful if you are using x08oc.ko because the overclock module is also an undervolting module for frequecies lower than 480MHz i think
extract of doixanh post for x8oc.ko :
doixanh said:
April 06. v002. Experimental! It maybe very unstable! Undervoltage for all frequencies except the max freq (Reduced voltages for 128MHz, 245MHz, 320MHz, 480MHz). This can potentially save battery. I need test results for saving battery from you guys

No, not at all. Just set setCPU to ondemand. Then while using the phone, the cpu will work at overclocked speeds and when kept idle will work at undervolted frequencies, thus saving battery.

but doixanh built this from undervoltig part of the OC module i think, am I wrong ? --> so there's no need to undervolt a yet undervolted cpu
correct me if I'm saying wrong things ;-)
I' followed the first post instructions, but my phone still draining battery. Where I have to write this line "insmod /system/lib/modules/x8uv.ko # x8 undervolt"? Because my phone still draining battery? I've put this line on the start of the "hw_config.sh" file. Is it correct??

Hey flashers
Netchip´s kernel was terribly, there where thousand and one bugs.
Such max overclock to 1400 MHz, no GPU overclocking, bad scripts.
Scripts who works not, it was one big drama.
But it was also great, light, quick, not one fancy kernel.
TEST version dont have all features!
Netchip is not responsible for damage caused by the kernel and / or device.
If you encounter problems using this kernel, in what a way, I am not responsible.
You flashed the kernel, it is your responsibility.
This kernel is very very unstable, and not tested
Click to collapse
And here I come to introduce my new kernel .
It is not a big drama, it is super, fixed some bugs by Samsung, CPU overclocking to 1.6 GHz, GPU overclocking, BFQ v2-r1, BLN, bootlogo, bootanimation and much more in the future .
I am inspired by Hacre, Chainfire and HellcatDroid.
Hellcat is very kind, and helps me with ex. the compile issue.
Also Hacre was nice together me, ex. the CPU overclocking code.
But now further on the kernel, the features
-ATT sources with 2.6.37.14 kernel
-Bootanimation support, place it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip
-Bootlogo, place it in /sdcard/getin, and give it the name, logo.png
-CPU overclocking till 1.6GHz
-GPU overclocking
-BFQ v2-r1
-Removed other schedulers
-Instant root
-Busybox
-Clockworkmod 5
-KI3 initramfs
-I use the "hidden" p12 partition as tmp, so if bootlogo dont work, lemme fix it
-Compiled with AOSP 4.4.0 toolchain
-BLN
-Init.d support - /system/etc/init.d/
-EFS backup script
-Touchscreenfix set to 5 - thanks to vitalij
It is newb friendly, you can flash it via Odin, and all is installed
Thus flash it via Odin!
Flash the BETA version only if you know what you do.
Bootlogo
I have made this bootlogo for you:

If you want to go back to stock, flash stock firmware or take standard bootlogo and copy it in "/sdcard/getin/logo.png"

-Version with CFQ
-Fix bugs

Always nice to see new stuff surfacing in our forums.I'm gonna be trying this one soon.
One thing though.Have you also included any GPU voltage controlling scripts or something?Because having the ability to "overclock" the GPU is utterly useless unless we can up the volatges a little.Next available frequency is 400MHz(make no mistake, nothing else between stock 267MHz and 400MHz works.Clock values must be 800 divided by an integer),and that needs some more juice than the stock 1050mV.With Tegrak's app I used to use 1100mV just fine.
Apart from that, all seems good.Good work man.
Hi netchip and thanks for your work.
Is BLN support inserted?
You haven't written it in your kernel's features

You can only overclock the frequency not voltage, hence Hacre's script for GPU is useless. The only real viable solution for GPU OC is in combination with TegraK's module.
Maybe i´ll try later, reflashing orig ki3-kernel now.

Q. How to install?
Just as you install a custom kernel.
Steps:
1. Power down device and get into FASTBOOT MODE -> switch off device hold menu key & plugin usb. (LED notification turns BLUE)
2. check fastboot with "fastboot devices"
3. flash boot image
fastboot flash boot boot.img
4. Reboot with "fastboot reboot"
5. Enjoy!
How to enable/disable features?
This kernel sets properties to features so that they can be enabled or disabled easily
Code:
shardul.module.tun=0
shardul.module.isofs=0
shardul.module.ntfs=0
shardul.module.hid_apple=0
shardul.module.hid_microsoft=0
Method 1: Edit /data/local.prop directly
Method 2: "writeprop shardul.module.isofs 1" on shell / terminal emulator for individual properties set/unset
Module will be loaded on next boot!
If you want to load module only for the current session, see this app!
Q. How to undervolt (UV)?
Easy methods -> andrev_oc, IncrediControl (Thanks to adridu for the tip)
OR
Query vdd levels (output: first column: frequency (kHz), second column: vdd* (mV))
Code:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
incrementing/decrementing all levels by a specified amount* (mV):
Code:
echo '-25' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
echo '+25' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
adjusting the supply voltage* (second value, mV) at a specific frequency (first value, kHz):
Code:
echo '998400 1250' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
*: vdd values must be a multiple of 25 (enforced by the interface; the regulator doesn't accept other values)

1. I have noticed that v6 supercharger script adds "pm.sleep_mode=1" in build.prop
This causes high drain on some networks in sleep.. Just remove that line after install v6 supercharger script by zeppelinrox

@kibol44: Values are reset at boot.. So try low values (individually for all frequencies), if phone freezes or random reboots, then you are too low . After you have found the correct values for your phone, you would need an init.d script for setting values on every boot..
@ALL: 2-way call recording, some debugging features turned off (logcat is still enabled), VM readahead increased, NFS (which i dont think anybody uses, but available as module) turned off for better battery..
My phone running stable on it since the last 4 hours. Anyone else who is willing to test?

Strange score...
It doesn't match, CM9 isn't Android 4.2 and where find now JB 4.2 rom for Xperia 2011?
Same cm10 is 4.1.2...
More 6600 at 1400Mhz is strange with technical characteristics of our Xperia 2011 (512 ram, 1GHz single core)
How do you get this score?

I'm using RAM Booster and now my RAM is 1GB! But using that make my SDCard only 1GB (before is 2GB)

Yes, I modified build.prop from 4.0.4 to 4.2
But I'm sure that is my phone, because after test & submit score, I want to overclock to 1.6GHz, suddenly my phone is turn off and when I turn it on, I got a bootloop I've flash the kernel & ROM again because I don't have any backup

Yeah only that kernel supports sdmerge for flashing this you'll have to flash back stock to remove sdmerge using kdz then root and flash cm then this kernel

how come you get 5240 in antutu? i get max 4986, that too at 1075 mhz and zram 26%. at 1100 mhz it is not stable..

For your info , the score posted is taken at a clock speed of 1125MHz , naturally at a lower clock of 1075MHz , you will get lower scores. Antutu is unreliable anyways.
And ZRAM causes more lag, especially on the L3 , where the CPU is not too powerful to handle continuos compression and de-compression. Even if you must use it , use a lower value , not 26%.
You may use an init.d script to make a ZRAM disk of your wanted size.
Here is a reference script I made for usage with my kernel
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
insmod /system/lib/modules/lzo_compress.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/lzo_decompress.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/zram.ko
echo $((70 * 1024 * 1024)) > /sys/block/zram0/disksize
mkswap /dev/block/zram0
swapon /dev/block/zram0
