SGS4 with CM13 in reboot cycle while charging - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Samsung Galaxy S4 (gt9505) with Cyanogenmod 13 is in reboot cycle since today.
It is switched off (after battery removal) and connected to an (Original Samsung) USB charger.
It shows the percentage of charging capacity, but reboots after a few minutes automatically.
Unfortunately, capacity is not increasing but decreasing during charging from 15% to now 9%.
To prevent deep discharge, I disconnected it from the charger.
Please give some advice! Thanks!!

[Solved]
I just wanted to give any reader and follower an update.
It works again. I just removed the battery for some hours. Maybe the device got too hot?!?!?

[Q] Help!!! charged my galaxy 5 with wrong charger

This morning I used my sister's Samsung Champ's charger to charge my Galaxy 5. I didn't keep it in for long (20 - 30 min) but when I removed it, the battery started showing low charge warnings; I tried charging with my laptop using the cable that came with the phone and it showed 70% charged immidately, but when I removed it, it showed <14% warning again.
I tried to drain the battery completely and then recharge it, but the battery is still draining fast. Please help, the phone is only 2 months old...
Did you do a full charge?
I don't see why using other chargers effect your phone, I always use blackberry chargers and have no problem, try charging to 100%, draining to 0% a few times, see if it helps

It might have nothing to do with using the wrong charger, you might just have the signal glitch where your phone is constantly searching for signal when it already has it, my phone started to do it recently, to check if this is the issue go to Settings, Phone Info, Battery Useage, Signal, then if it says something like Time without signal 50% then that is the issue.
Try this;
Unplug your phone
Turn Airplane Mode on for about 10 seconds
Turn Airplane Mode off
Restart phone.
That fixed my battery life- it was going for 80% battery to 10% in under 5 minutes.

[Q] My GS2 won't turn on

It was working fine before I went to bed last night, then I let it charge for the night since that battery was at about 4%, But this morning it won't turn on at all. The battery feels warm as if its been charging but nothing seems to be making it turn on. Any ideas?

If it was my phone here is what I would do.
First I would see if the phone charges the battery by putting the battery into
the phone and plug the usb cable from phone into the wall charger or into
the computer.
If the display on phone shows a picture of a battery charging let it charge
for an hour more or less and try turning on the phone.
If the phone is not charging the battery I would purchase a cheapy battery
charger and battery combo on eBay.
You can find this combo on eBay for less than $8 bucks shipped for both the battery and charger:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1800m-BATTE...045605?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item43aa9a4465
(even if you decide to return and exchange the phone its still a good thing to have a spare battery and charger)
Check it out.
Good Luck!

are you on cm7? not sure about the s2 (never had the issue), but i know that on the infuse, there was a problem (or maybe it was intentional) with low power charging mode (phone wouldn't charge when off).
i think this can be solved by trying to charge the phone via your computer usb, as opposed to your OEM wall charger.
Thanks for the suggestion. It definitely isn't showing the picture of the battery when its plugged in to the wall or the computer. I'm debating the battery charger combo you linked.
I actually am. But I have it plugged to my computer and nothings changed.
Time for some trouble shooting.
Start eliminating possibilities. You need to determine where the problem is.
From what you say, it seems possible that the battery is completely discharged but not recharging. That could be a bad battery or it could be the phone.
If you know someone else with an SGS II, try inserting their battery temporarily to see if your phone will boot. If you don't know someone else, maybe you can borrow a charged battery from the store where you bought it.
Continue on until you pinpoint the problem.
Do NOT buy a "cheapie" battery for your SGS2. Unless you want to eisk causing damage. The stock battery for the SGS2 has NFC technology built into it. Using anything other than OEM could cause damage/performance issues to your phone, and void the warranty.

Have goh tried a battery pull? Unplug the phone, pull the battery and let sit for a few minutes to allow tbe IC's to discharge. Put battery back in and try powering up the device. Good luck.

Similar issue and got phone fixed finally
Have had similar issue as yours. Cable charger was plugged into the phone to be charged at night and was surprised to find that the phone became hot and battery was not charged at the next morning, in fact the battery level got lower than it was before charging.
Notes:
- ROM in use: AOCP version 7.2 (Android 4.4.2)
- Kernel in use: Version 3.0.101 [email protected] #3
Here are some tests done and the observations after getting a charger with a slot to place the removed battery for charging:
1. Charging via USB cable connected to PC:
- With the phone turned on, battery charging icon is only displayed after some wiggling at the charging port. The phone got charged further to 100% when the initial remaining battery level is 90%. However, when the initial battery level was less than 50%, the battery level continued dropping ALTHOUGH the battery charging icon was displayed.
- With the phone turned off, battery charging icon is only displayed after some wiggling at the charging port. When the initial battery level was less than 50%, the battery charging icon displayed only a battery level of 1% and the battery level did not increase at all after 15 minutes of charging.
Initially suspected that it was a dead battery issue and bought an i9100 battery, I thought it was a compatible battery at first. With the i9100 battery, I repeated the above tests.
- With the phone turned off, battery charging icon is NOT displayed but the phone screen flashed continuously, and at times the phone is turned on automatically as the USB charging port is inserted. When the phone is turned on, the charging proceeded as the above sentence.
Upon searching the forum, I found that i777 has a different battery with NFC chip and i9100 battery has reported to cause issues during charging on i777 devices. There was also a Chinese forum which mentioned that the battery compatibility issues should have been overcome in ROM with Android version 4.0 and above.
I then bought a new i777 compatible battery and tested charging via USB cable. The observations are same as the first battery as at 1.
With the battery issues possibility eliminated, I approached a phone technician to examine the phone by telling him that the phone couldn't be charged and the battery level continued dropping even with the battery charging icon displayed. The phone technician then thought that the USB charging port to be the cause of the charging issue and replaced it. The replaced part is the small metal housing where the USB cable is inserted, and is replaced by heating the old metal housing and replacing it with new part by soldering.
The phone could be charged with USB cable as usual after the part replacement and all the batteries are found to be still working fine. Ended up with 2 i777 batteries and a i9100 battery, may be I could continue using this phone for at least another 5 years down the road.

Battery Calibration problem

Hello, I was told to post my question here. I'll just copy/paste:
I have a Samsung Galaxy Beam (GT-i8530) and recently it started to show weird behavior when it comes to the battery level. It drops really fast and takes forever to charge up to 60% and then jumps to 100% in a minute. It also happens that when I leave it charging it says 100% but the moment I remove the cable it shows a lower percentage such as 38% or 56% (it happened again today, I left it charging for almost 3 hours and when I checked it said 100% but when I removed the cable it changed to 34% and the warning message appeared telling me the battery was under 50%). At first I consider it to be a problem in the battery but Galaxy Beam comes with two batteries and the problem kept the same even after I've used the second battery.
I've searched around but everywhere I look it gives those charge/discharge cycles guide and I've tried that already but it didn't work at all. For one no matter how long I keep the cellphone charging, even if it says 100%, if I restart the cellphone it will starts with 94% instead of 100%. Is there anything else I can do to fix this? Should I try the charge/discharge cycle again? Could rooting my cellphone and doing the cycle calibration again but with a rooted device and the calibration app for it help instead of doing the calibration for unrooted devices or it's unlikely that will make a difference. I don't know what else to do.
Thank you.
Edit: It got worse. The battery was at 45% so i put it to charge. When I came back it actually dropped down to 28%. I tried to restart the cellphone and after I did it started with only 15% instead. I've checked the cables, the chargers and the USB door, there's no problem with any of those. Tho recently sometimes when the cellphone is charging it starts vibrating non stopping and it's not the cables contact because it does not show any message saying the cable disconnected.
HELP!

Charging malfunctioning after update

Hello.
My tab S3 recently updated to the latest security patch of 1st March, 2020, build PPR1.180610.011.T820XXU3CTK1
My tab charges becomes abnormal since then.
When I charge my tablet while it is on, it shows no charging indication at all, battery was at 50%.
However, after an hour, it stays at 50%. When I reboot the tablet, it now shows 58%.
When I charge my tablet while it is off, it shows a charging symbol for like 8 seconds, afterwards, it disappears and no charging percentage was shown. But after another 6-7 seconds later, it shows the charging symbol again, and repeats itself until I remove the charging cable.
This consequences has been happened till today, it can still charges, but much slower than before. Is anyone facing the same issue, or is it my device faulty? Any guide or solution can help this?
Thanks in advance.
