Root a X10mini in 12.2016 - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hello, i got a nice Sony Xperia X10 mini with Android 2.1 update 1 and want to update to any Android 4.4. So i choose the PureSlim R4 for Robyn with the Pure GoogleApps for my phone.
But i cant work with FlashTool 0.9.22.3 i cant root my phone. I got the errormessag: ERROR - Illegal key size or default parameters. With SuperUser and SuperSU both the same result. How to install a new flash then? Do i need an older version of FlashTool? All tutorials are with links for flashtool in GitHub. But this links are broken.
Thanks for every hint to get a newer rom to my phone. USB Debugging is activated of course.

I'm really new for rooting and I found a tutorial on how to root neo v easily and it said to root it after turning off my phone.(the blue led notification).so how to change usb mode?
To get blue LED, switch off your phone, remove any cable. Press and hold the Menu button and insert the cable while holding the Menu button.
I suppose, for Flashtool method, you need the green LED. Do the same while holding the back button.
EDIT: I am sorry, you need the blue LED only

It depends on what firmware you will put in your mobile. One thing you can do, just go to the search at the top right. search how to root your mobile. it's very easy to search it.
Good luck!

If you are trying to update to .62 via the Sony PC Companion or OTA update using your phone, it will fail as the bootloader is unlocked and there is no update support for those with unlocked bootloader.

Hey buddy, since you've got your phone rooted, why don't you try out some awesome ROMs for your phone? They are quite simple to install and Neo V has quite a few modders . I'm not a big fan of Sony's stock ROM with all their bloatware anyway
Have fun

That version can't be rooted using bin4ry's method via .bat file or flashtool. Either unlock the bootloader and flash a rooted kernel or flash back to an older firmware that can be rooted and OTA update.

donwgrade to previous version.. and root it .. after that flash it agian.. thats the only solution..
Assuming that you have installed following:
- Android ADB
- latest Flashtools & (driver) - antivirus disabled
- mobile is readily getting into flashmode and fashboot mode.
- usually i dont go into these hasles i install and flash CWM and then install custom ROM which are far better than stock rom.

How do I unlock bootloader for Xperia Go?

I am getting really irritated of the amount of totally nonsense information out there, and no real or "official" way for unlocking bootloader for Xperia Go. Can someone please help me so I can unlock my bootloader? All I see are guides with massive walls of text, nothing official stated about Xperia Go. I don't want to screw my phone up by doing some mistake by myself -_- so can somebody PLEASE tell me how?
Hey,
Before I can help you, I need to know which build you are on.
The 3 common builds are
6.0.B.3.184
6.1.1.B.1.10
6.1.1.B.1.54
To check it, go to Settings>About Phone then scroll to the bottom and read the number then post it here.
Also, tell me what OS you are running, The fastboot drivers required to unlock it doesn't work in Windows 8 unless you enable test mode for windows 8.
Additional information on how to unlock the boot loader can be found on the Sony Developers page.
Note: If you want to root it, DO NOT flash the version 6.1.1.B.1.54. Because Sony patched the exploit.
Hi thank you for replying, I swear that I have searched information for HOURS and I learned that it is not easy to find for Xperia Go.. :S as it is for some more known models.
Here is the info
Model: ST27i
Software version: 6.0.B.3.184
I use Windows 7 on my PC, also I have downloaded Flash Tool 0.9.8.0 by Bin4ry & Androxyde (it shows 0.9.9.0 update is available, should I update it?)
Edit: unlocked myself already

Updates are region and/or provider dependant.
You can take your chances and flash generic world formware.

I want to do it so i can root my phone, but since I've never done this, I'm a bit insecure and hesitant.
From the research I've done rooting my Xperia P is preferred to be done with the latest firmware which I don't have.
What would you suggest I do? I am completely new to this.
Thanks

Like before you do anything with your phone, take a full backup with PC Companion, and backup other data it doesn't manually.
Then you will need to download and install flashtool, install the drivers for Xperia P, flash mode, and fastboot mode with the drivers installer from drivers directory under flashtool directory.
Find and download generic 6.2.A.1.100 firmware file and flash it.
Exclude TA when you flash.
I have my firmware uploaded here, it's a two part 7-Zip, archive.
You may look for others that are more sutable for your region.
To root 6.2.A.1.100 use DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit.
My phone is acting really crazy and I can't do a backup with PC Companion, nor with the phone app for backup, but I don't care anymore.
I'll try everything you suggested and let you know if it worked.
Thanks a lot, you have been more than helpful. I really appreciate it.

Yes, you can use that Flashtool too. But you'll need to find the FTF file to flash.
You can flash even though you're on custom kernel. But you'll have to reflash the custom kernel after the update.

No, it will not automatically find the firmware for your region. You will have to find it yourself, either from XDA or the function within Flashtool (Devices > Check Update). Using the Sony Flash Tool is easier.
