I personally would do:
- Get latest official zip. Unzip all images and flash bootloader and vendor imgs with fastboot.
- Flash latest TWRP from fastboot and boot it
- Wipe factory/reset, flash ROM, opengapps and custom kernel (if desired).

Thank you for the reply. I'm a little late, as I had school. I've downloaded the latest zip for the N9, but it only includes "boot.img" and "bootloader.img" - vendor is parted into "vendor.new.dat", "vendor.patch.dat" and "vendor.transfer.list". I have no idea how I can flashs vendor now. Any advices?

I think you only need to do: fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
But, check scripts included in zip (should be a sh and a bat, in both you should see the same commands)
But in that download there was no vendor.img. That's why I'm asking.

By now the best ROM I've tried for the Nexus 9. Smooth, fast, stable and with decent battery!
Will Slim ROMs have OTA updates? It's not a request, just a curiosity question.
I've noticed that under Developers options there is "Automatic system updates" turned on. What will that do?

Assuming you're referring to the 6-14 build, it works perfectly thus far, though I have yet to try Bluetooth or NFC. FWIW, the earlier alpha builds worked well too. No idea which file you're referring to as being corrupt, but tapatalk does fail to redirect to the download page from the link in the OP, that's a tapatalk issue.
Did you check md5?
Random: long press the settings icon in the expanded notification header to unlock the system UI settings tuner in the system settings menu...

I downloaded the weekly build of Slim6 for Flo. When I attempted to install it through TWRP installation failed and the reason given was " file is corrupt" then I tried installing using the app Flashfire (this time a clean flash). The wipe was successful, installation not so much
I will try to download again and report back later

Best is always to check MD5 before flashing, or check at latest if twrp says the file is corrupt, it's most certainly a bad/incomplete download.

Yes I downloaded it on my other Nexus 7 2013 and installed it through TWRP Manager with no problem. It booted up just fine. I have to say Slim6 is perhaps the most appropriate name for this ROM.

1)in lockscreen I always read "emergency" even if I have plenty signal Sorry, I noticed it's a button to make emergency calls, it's a feature... but I'd like an option to remove it anyway
2) Zooper widget can't get location even if it has the authorization to get it (never happened on any other rom)

It does have layers already, they are broken in this build though! Wait till the next one!
Thanks for the info Bart !
Slim recents is really important for me - it makes managing apps so much easier - is it implemented in this rom ?
Not yet and layers will more than likely be removed.
While still missing some traditional slim features as the slim folks play catch-up ball, I am enjoying the complete stability and excellent battery life of this build.

Definitely will follow this roms steady development and improvements. Probably will use this rom as a daily driver when layers are fixed (hopefully) in the next build 0.6.
Would Squid2's kernel work with this ROM? Because if so, then I'm definitely going to use this as my daily driver.
Also, do you guys still recommend OpenGapps nano with this?
@illumni I used opengapps pico without a problem. Didn't try Squid's kernel. Mind that layers is not working yet, its still in Alpha!

Well, I don't use layers so I'm fine with it not working. Glad to hear that OpenGapps is working. I can try Squid's kernel and see how well it fairs, I'm doubtful that many issues will arise, but you never know!
I don't see why squid kernel wouldn't work. If it works on cm should work here, but ymmv. We recommend OpenGapps nano

Would Squid2's kernel work with this ROM? Because if so, then I'm definitely going to use this as my daily driver.
Also, do you guys still recommend OpenGapps nano with this?

I flashed Squid2's kernel and it worked just fine. I've not run into any issues as of yet.

I don't see why squid kernel wouldn't work. If it works on cm should work here, but ymmv. We recommend OpenGapps nano

Squid2's kernel works perfectly from what I can tell. My only thing left to do is root, but I'm a bit new to this so I'm unsure which route I'd take to root this rom. Does it (Slim) come pre-rooted?
Enable root in dev options

SuperSu is an option, if you like to use it, then you should install it in the rom + gapps + supersu sequence, never install it once you have started everything, any rom can have errors for that reason.
I've flashed in the right sequence but I'm also experiencing the phone crash.
