Docomo phones update

hello everyone , i have a f-10d , its a docomo phone. i've heard words saying that to update a docomo phone, you need a docomo sim card & update your phone in Japan .
i was thinking could i use a docomo card & japan VPN , update @ home
thx
Hi! I tried to use Japanese VPN to download apk, but it's not working. You need to be in Docomo phone network only, not any Japanese IP address. But I do not have Docomo SIM card...

No, it wont work until you flash it to a provider in your country. Sense the phone was activated in another country, your not going to be able to use networking because the provider is out of range. Also if you get signal, and the provider from the phone's country has retail stores in your country, then the networks in your country could be blocking your phone from receiving networking, sense its using a different area code, ip,etc.
You best bet is going to your local service provider and getting the for unlocked or flashed to that service. They will give you a new SIM card and everything should work awesome

You have to root your phone first using SRS Root application, then install an application from Play Store that called HiAPN Global, use that to set your default APN settings, about "Unknown Type Card" just rename your sim card to a desired carrier.

Did you flash the dual sim firmware onto you single sim phone in the end? If so, what works and what doesn't work? I'm in a similar situation, but the reason why I'm asking is because I want to get VoLTE working in a specific country. The variant of the phone that is sold in that country is the FD variant whereas mine is the F variant - which was purchased in a different country.
