Android Wear on normal Smartphone - Wear OS Software and Hacking General

Hi guys,
im trying to get android wear on a normal smartphone running, just for fun.
For the phone im having a sony xperia m running Unofficial temasek CM13 built by me. The build is a bit older, i think more than 4 months now. Gapps is installed.
I´ve pulled most files from an android wear emulator for armv7 devices running android wear based on marshmellow and deodexed them.
Before i did this, ive made a factory reset, bootet one time to activate adb, connected to my wifi and enabled bluetooth.
Since my upload sucks, i only tell you how to get to the point where im stuck.
In system/app goes: -ClockworkFlashlight
-ClockworkFrameworkPackageStubs
-ClockworkPhotosWatchFace
- GoogleTTSPrebuiltWearable
- PrebuiltBugleWearable
-PrebuiltDeskClockMicroApp
-RemindersPrebuiltWearable
-TranslatePrebuiltWearable
In system/etc/permissions goes: -clockwork-system.xml
-com.google.android.wearable.xml
In system/framework goes: -clockwork-system.jar
-com.google.android.wearable.jar
In system/priv-app goes: -ClockworkAmbient
-ClockworkBugReportSender
-ClockworkCMAS
-ClockworkHomeGoogle
-ClockworkPhone
-ClockworkSettings
-ClockworkSetup
-ClockworkSystemUI
-PrebuiltGmsCoreForClockworkWearable
-PrebuiltWearsky
-WristGestureTutorial
But then after a boot, i get to the unlock screen and after unlocking it, "Android Wear", "Setup" do crash and it loops a few times after confirming it. Then "Google Play services" and "SystemUI" crash and it gets back to the unlock screen.
I need help with my logcat, since i think there is the key to get atleast a taste of Android Wear.
My logcat is here: https://gist.github.com/Tenn0/a82e3c417304effac0f2720f8f54712f

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi,
I just picked this tablet up. I have successfully rooted it and have installed a working Play Store. I now have access to all my apps that I use on my Galaxy Note 10.1.
To root I used the instructions from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Once I had root I wanted to get Google Play Store on the tab. I found a couple of places that had information concerning adding Play Store to other devices and kind of pieced the info together to come up with this solution.
1. Download gapps for ICS. http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
2. Unzip file
3. Navigate to the " System/app " folder and find "phonesky.apk and setupwizard.apk"
(You will need to copy these two files to your tablet)
4. Once files are on tablet use something like "Root Explorer" to copy both to the "system/app" folder of the tablet.
(The folders will need to be mounted as "R/W" so they can be written to )
5. After the files are copied to the proper folder, you need to edit the permissions for both.
6. In "Root Explorer" long press on each file and choose "permissions"
7. Edit permissions to read "Owner: Read, Write" "Group: Read" "Others: Read"
8. Reboot and launch Play Store
Hope it works for you!

My Trio won't boot
It doesn't boot after enabling quickboot.
EDIT: Wait... I just flashed the Allwinner A10 ROM. I hope it works. Boot takes very very long and will not end in looping!
EDIT 2: It works... the touchscreen just didn't work and freezes when loading with SD Card.
NOW I DON'T HAVE A STOCK ROM FOR TRIO! I SPENT $60 FOR A BRICKED DEVICE!

8:45 - Bootloop confirmed.

Contact the manufacturer and maybe they can help. I just rooted and kept the stock rom. Sorry for your misfortune.

I'll try. I just flashed CM9 for AllWinnerTablets. I said I burned it just for expressing my emotion. I'll try to get a replacement or return it.
EDIT: I'll TRY to return it. But I'll see if I can replace it first, since it's on a one-year warranty. I have a reciept and kept it safe.
Don't know about Walmart, but you could try to return it

[Q] Asus TF201 "Launcher has stopped" ?

I own a rooted Asus Transformer Prime TF201 table with JB 4.1.1 (original), and have probably done something stupid... please help this Noob, as I've read so much when looking for answers the last 2 days -- now I'm thoroughly confused! (To tell the truth, wasn't that great of a root user before...)
My tablet won't get beyond "Launcher has stopped" error when booting.
I rooted several months ago, installed a custom bootloader graphic (still works), SuperSU, ROM Manager and some other rooted apps. I had flashed cyanogen rom "9" (I think) -- the stable one for Asus -- and was running fine. I thought I had done a nandroid backup (file on SD card).
Then I created my problem: I had messed around with the LED settings via ROM Manager, and then I think I changed the build.prop file value for VM heap stack from 256 to 512 ("governor" settings?). (I know, I know -- used to mess around a little with PCs and I should have known better what I was doing!)
Now I can't get homescreens or launch apps, or anything. "Launcher has stopped"
I can power off and power on (using power + volume buttons). My custom bootloader image comes into view after the ASUS logo -- but next I get the "Asus Keyboard is not installed" message with the "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped" message on top of that. Pressing the OK buttom just blinks and back to the errors.
I *can* get get to the settings, though.
Is a new tablet in my future?
Can anyone help me undo this mess I've made?? Help for the Noobs! Oh, and THANK YOU in advance for the trouble!
Hey!
Can you access the recovery mode? If yes:
1. Download the zip file attached to this post;
2. Put the holo.zip file in your sdcard;
3. Enter in recovery mode and flash the zip;
4. Reboot system;
5. Now you get Holo Launcher in your tablet!
Can't See Asus tablet from PC
Thanks for confirming that I am going about trying to fix this in the 'right' way!
I had never installed the SDK / android bridge to my Windows Vista 32-bit PC -- and I did that a couple days ago.
But I am not able to get root connected to the Asus. It shows as MTP device and I can see the sd card (also via Explorer in Windows)
I feel so dumb but I think the tablet can be rescued, if only I knew what to do!
Can you help me -- start from the beginning and help me get my Asus tablet working again??

Sorry, I didn't see your post before.
Why don't you flash the ROM again?
I mean the custom one.

[Q] [HELP] Azpen 1023

Azpen A1023
Hello. Is anyone aware of a way to get rid of the persistent softkeys in landscape more. I press them by accident all the time and it's quite annoying. Even if I can't get rid of the entire thing it'd be at least a comfort to get rid of the damned Screenshot key.
Any ideas or solutions?
Thanks in advance.
*BUMP*
SDK for Allwinner CPUs?
Now will this aid in someone creating a custom image for a Azpen A1023 or something else neat like a custom Kernel/CWM/TWRP or anything to help?
Sent from my A1023 using XDA Free mobile app
I figured it out! "Kingo root" one click roots our azpen a1023. then install Xposed framework, and install gravitybox. enable "hide navigation bar" under expanded desktop. add expanded desktop to your quick tiles, PROFIT!
Tried that awhile ago, didn't work well for me. Just got a Nexus 7 2013 Monday, so I can use this to tinker with
Sent from my A1023 using XDA Free mobile app
I also tried Kingo Root and was unsuccessful. In my case, it recognizes the tablet and then attempts to connect to it forever without success.
Ultimately, I've found very little about rooting the A1023. There seems to have been some progress with the A700 that looks promising, but, beyond that, this thread is one of the few pertinent Google results on this subject. So while getting CWM/TWRP up and running with a device like this is outside of my skill set, I just wanted to chime in as another user who'd greatly appreciate seeing this device rooted.
Root for Azpen a1023
First go to Kingroot . net once there scroll down until you see something called "KingRoot" download this it will be an apk. Once downloaded put that apk on your sd card. Now put the sd card in your tablet and find it with your file manager. Now all you need to do is run this apk. But first and most importantly make sure before you run the apk your connected to the internet or it will not work.
O yea just remembered and to possibly save some future questions. When installing busybox from stericson be sure you install busy box to system/bin not the default system/xbin.
And just a question for the people who have an Aspen a1023 that came out with kitkat 4.4 firmware, could you please upload the recovery image? When i got my Azpen a1023 it came with Jelly bean 4.2. And I'm only asking because the Azpen website doesn't have the firmware on it. It has Jelly Bean 4.2 but not the latest KitKat 4.4. Which isn't good because if you don't have a back up saved your going to have to revert back.
Like most allwinner devices this one come with root access enabled across adb stock. If you open an adb shell and enter the su command it should give you the # prompt instead of $. All you need to do is swap out the stock su binary for superuser's or supersu's using adb push and install its apk, you can use adb or playstore, run it and full access root is achived. You can search xda for a simular method using the azpen a700 it will be the same for the azpen a1023
Firmware Update
Can Stock lollipop be sideloaded? or is there some version of the os beyond Ics?
Azpen's latest version on their site page for this tab hints at no, but other pages lead one to question that their tablets can be upgraded to at least kitkat, but for the life of me cannot find a prebuilt image for this tablet (found one for several others). am i the only one thinking this tablet doesn't get much love?

I dont know. But I actually wonder is there are system requirements for different android versions. Im sure there is. Would it even be feasable to have Lollipop on the A1023?

[Q] Windows MTB USB Device driver error when Moto G running TWRP

I am trying to sideload cyanogen mod. Whenever I boot the phone into TWRP, Windows 7 (64 bit) tries to install MTB USB Device drivers and fails.
Driver Software Installation:
Device driver software was not successfully installed
Please consult with your device manufacturer for
assitance getting this device installed.
MTB USB Device X Failed
I already uninstalled Android SDK Tools and re-installed, making sure that Google USB Drivers are installed. I also installed Motorola drivers, but that was at the start of my journey and I didn't take notes on the details.
I have no problems accessing the phone via USB when the phone is booted up normally. I also have no problems using fastboot when the phone is is bootloader mode.
I originally tried a number of ways to use CWM instead of TWRP, but was unsuccessful. I've posted those efforts in this forum and abandoned CWM after a while.
Has anyone who owns a Moto G actually been able to install CWM or install CyanogenMod using TWRP? I want to use adb rather than non-mainstream tools, and I'm not interested in rooting at the moment (though rooters are more likely to be familiar with issues at this level).
From further web search, this is the last news that I can find about MTP USB drivers when booted up in TWRP: <<erroneous URL removed (I can't re-find the correct webpage)>>
I'll continue sleuthing a bit more before looking at how to install cyanogenMode without sideload. But for now, it seems that the MTP issue remains (though I admit, I'm new to the whole smartphone thing and I could be wrong about that).
Afternote: I chose sideload so that I wouldn't have to worry about where the cyanogenMod zip file goes. From using adb shell to "ls" around, it seemed a bit confusing, and it wasn't obvious how the directory structure from "ls"ing around matched the 5-7 partitions that are on most Android file systems. In fact, entire subtrees seemed to repeat themselves at different parts of the tree.
I followed a suggestion on another forum and used the push method. I followed wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_falcon. I found that I needed to bookend sdcard with slashes: "/sdcard/".
I am now facing the (apparently commonplace) problem of being in an endless loop with the popup "Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped. [OK]". I'm one step further, though. There seem to be many causes for this problem, with varying degrees of similarity in the symptom. I've not yet run across a case with exactly the same symptom, where the loop occurs at the language selection screen. Of the various circumstances that I've read about, the one that seems that it might be most relevant is the association of this error with an Italian keyboard app. In my case, the English (Canada) language seems to be selected, if I'm interpretting the graphics properly. I will try replacing the keyboard apk with one from a nightly. New territory.
The other causes are flipboard app, ART vs. Dalvik, and possibly a few others.
Someone suggested that I might try clearing data and cache on Google Play Framework. I googled how-to-clear-data-and-cache-on-Google-Play-Framework, and read www.androidpit.com/google-play-not-working. It seems that you have to be able to get the OS working before you can actually clear those Google Play data. I haven't been able to get beyond the language screen. I can't access the device via adb, either.
Afternote: I was able to press Next a few times in between the error message popups, and I got the the home screen. The devices shows as XT1032 in the Windows Explorer, but there's nothing in that "folder".
Update: I don't have any app beginning with the word "Google", so it seems that none of the above measures having to do with Google Play apply in my case. I suspect that this may be because I'm working with a virgin install of CyanogenMod. Looks like I'm still on search for a way ahead. I also tried switching the language from English (Canada) to English (US), based on the info I found online that the problem was due to a keyboard apk. No joy.....
Update: Another user had the same problem and solved it by reverting to CM 10 (www.reddit.com/r/cyanogenmod/comments/2gvmqu/cm11moto_g_comandroidsystemui_is_crashing_after). Looks like I have a way ahead.

Sony Xperia V & S get snapchat to work. Need to be android 4.4 or higher.

Is there anyway to get Snapchat to work on these phones? I know there has to be android version 4.4. I think i have 4.3 in my Sony Xperia V. I also know there is a problem with snapchat locking rooted devices so this can be a problem. Is there any official releases that can handle snapchat?
I have Windows 8.1 does it works the same? https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...y-xperia-s-stock-to-android-8-1-oreo.4222141/
I think i go for Android 7.1.2/nAOSP instead of Oreo. Something tells me Oreo will gets to laggy.
I got to: Seems like me phone is Desimlocked. How to easy lock it up. It stand 5 after all, i guess 5 attemps
5) MAKE SURE PHONE IS NOT SIMLOCKED
We need to check phone is not SIMlocked.
Open dialer, enter code again
Code:
*#*#7378423#*#*
Go to Service info > SIM lock. If everything is blank/unchecked ( [] ), phone is Desimlocked.
If not, you must contact your network provider for an unlock code.
### Don't move further until phone is simlocked. You cannot debrand/desimlock it using a custom ROM.
Should i copy the Android 7.1.2/nAOSP rar to the flash folder?
In Windows, copy the path to the "flash" folder you unziped earlier.
Open a Windows command prompt : Start menu > Command prompt > Start as administrator
Then type
What to type cd /d thePathToFlashFolder should cd be the moved files to d? destination?
I guess even if i get it to work snapchat will detect my rooted phone?
I have it like this C:\root\djibe\flash what path should i move to this folder the oreo 8.1?

Correct.
Snapchat is performing a few tests and if at least one of them is positive, the application kills itself when Superuser is found in the system.
I know some xposed modules can prevent that. I guess you cannot root the phone and install custom rom and then unroot?

Great you know this.
IMO it's a widespread misconception that a rooted Android can be hidden to apps: don't think the developers of banking / payment / other apps are dumber than then people who root their device's Android, this due to fact that all rooting methods ( e.g. SuperSu, MagiskSU, KernelSU, MTK-SU ) are based on open-source-code which everybody can look into to find out how Android gets rooted, i.e. where to search in filessystem for the SU-binary.
Thanks, so it is very hard to use snapchat on rooted phones? I need that so then a custom rom can't be so good for me. Official releases can be installed without rooting?
FYI:
Latest Snapchat v12.32.0.35 ( April 26, 2023 ) only runs on Android 5.0 and up.
