Hi, i ****ed up yesterday night.
I have a Honor 7 which was rooted with TWRP. I tried to unroot it and go back to stock recovery to be able to update from 5.1 to 6.0 MM.
So i flashed with the stock recovery, but when the phone turned back on, recovery was broke.
Now i can't neither go into recovery mode or fastboot mode, so i can't flash anything anymore.
When i do the buttons combination to enter in recovery, i'm in rescue mode saying "func no11 (recovery image)
The phone is still able to boot on stock B140, but enable usb debug doesn't change anything.
I don't know if anyone got a solution or has the problem before, i've been looking into it all night long without success, i hope it's not a permanent brick
Thanks for reading me, and sorry for my english
Turn off phone, connect phone to pc then immediately after that hold power and vol down. You should be able to boot into fastboot?
Sadly it's not working. Looks like recovery mode and fastboot mode have been erased or something, my phone can only boot on Android, nothing else, so i basically can't root it/update/install recovery :/
Try to factory reset it.
If that doesn't work, let it completely discharge until it doesn't turn on. Charge it and then try to enter bootloader.
Can you enter eRecovery?
Hi, thanks for your reply
I can't enter in erecovery/recovery, and when i try to enter in the bootloader, instead of having "fastboot and rescue mode", i only have "rescue mode" with error 11 (no recovery image) then error 2.
USB debug is enabled, but my computer doesn't detect my phone in any way
Edit: The exact errors i have are:
Error!
Func NO: 11 (recovery image)
Error NO: 2 (load failed!)
Flash the stock recovery.img belongs to your current rom with multi-tool. Probably it'll be fixed.
@smbtirael to enter into bootloader mode just press and hold Vol Down button and simultaneously connect the phone to PC, if your PC is not detecting your device try installind Google USB drivers via SDK. If you get in bootloader mode then you know how to flash a recovery.
Well, i've flashed the ftf file downloaded directly from xperifirm {E2306_26.3.A.0.131_R2C_Customized GEL_1294-3902}

then, i've try to install root (following a tutorial for this device and this comp.) but i could not enter to FASTBOOT MODE
try using:
- (vol+) + (plug the phone)
-(power btn) + (vol+) + (plug the phone)
-(power btn) + (vol+) + (vol-) + (plug the device)
and the only thing that happened is: -Vibrate + sony logo ---> normal boot
----
Then i try to enter fastboot using the adb command {ADB REBOOT-BOOTLOADER}
but it just reboot normally (sony logo and then start normally)
[[ADB do recognize my device and all drivers were properly installed; but can't enter to fastboot mode]]
---
I've try to reflash my device again, but then i couldn't be able to enter to flashmode
{ with the device off; press vol- and then connect to usb}
after several attempts using - [(power btn) + (vol-)] i entered flashmode and reflash my device...
----
then i activate dev mode: [usb debuggin and OEM UNLOCK]
and try to get to fastboot mode, but the same results...
i got my device recognized by {ADB DEVICES}
but can't get fastboot
-----
Then the user who's helping me told me to reflash using this config
[in excludes section check all except AMSS_FSG, AMS_FS1, AMS_FS2,BOOT DELIVERY, KERNEL. Don't check anything else.]
But i can't get flashmode now... i try all the combinations, try in ubuntu 16, and windows 10... but nothing
the device starts normally nothing wrong.... except well, i can't enter any -mode- now...
any help?
Thanks

Girlfriend tried to update her Sony Aqua M4 e2306...
she says that the boot loader was unlocked, and she installed the twrp update... and the root check came back rooted.... she powered off the phone and put it on a charger. ...
a few hours later she tried to restart it and only got the Sony Xperia screen then reboot loop.
I've spent 2 days reading everything that i can find and trying various solutions but most won't work because it won't stay connected long enough to use companion, adb, fastboot, bootloader, etc. When the devices is seen by pc it is only for a moment and comes up as a generic MTP device or a hard drive i can't open.
I can get the occasional green or blue lights and sometimes a generic battery symbol by powering off and pressing + or - with power, but never get a recovery or boot load screen... only alternating "sony Xperia" and darkness
also, Emily won't update.
I've tried multiple solutions using different versions of SDK, ADB, sony and xperia Companion, fastboot, bootloader, odin, pwm, and more on multiple machines from XP to Win10, but nothing seems to even make a dent!
I've removed the back and disconnected the battery for 2 hours and am currently trying to research a more physical hack/repair using riff jtag.
i see many people with "boot loop" issue , but no one seems to follow through and say how to get out if you don't have the option of booting to anything....

Anoyone knows how to fix? Maybe is a problem of the cable?
PD: Tested with official cabled and turning Off OEM unlock and still the same.

Not sure what your problem is exactly but it is most likely a problem with the cable or the s1 driver's(if your using window's?) one or the other ,
However i need to point out that you must have your OEM lock at the SWITCHED ON position(allow the device to be oem unlocked) or you will trip the frp at the next reboot and will have to reflash your firmware unnecessarily , so to sum up Oem unlock at the switched on position

the drivers are all installed correctly, I tried doing this with the OEM off and on and it did not work
none of the methods works, adb does normal boot
recovery reboot (and other apps) crash or boot normal too
volume (+) and power button only makes the phone vibrate (and sometimes the Sony logo appears)
I can't stress to you enough that Enable Oem need's to be on the "on position" so switch it on (allow the device to be oem unlocked)and leave it alone it's nothing to do with you not being able to get to fastboot. If you trip the frp on your phone you will not be pleased.
with that said with your phone switched on and USB DEBUGGING SWITCHED ON plug into your usb on computer open a command window and input the following command- adb reboot bootloader you will now see your blue light on the phone this means your sony is now ready for you to flash a custom recovery (assuming you have unlocked your bootloader ?)
Hi all,
What I did:
- Install TWRP
- Installed a bad ROM through recovery mode
- #brick
Now:
- Stuck in mi logo bootloop
- I can't get to EDL
- I can get to fastboot, but I can't seem to run any commands on my PC
- I can't get to recovery mode
EDL Mode
- I can't seem to get to EDL mode where the red light flashes
- I have tried going to fastboot --> Removing power --> Power + and Power - and Power. Wait for Mi logo to flash twice, and it goes into "Power off mode"
- When I connect to USB again, it connects to the PC and charges
- In device manager, I can see Xiaomi Composite MDB Interface
- No connectivity over adb command
Fastboot Mode
- I can get into Fastboot
- Connect Fastboot into the PC, I am unable to run any adb or fastboot commands.
- Fastboot devices shows nothing, adb devices shows nothing
- In device manager, I can see Android Bootloader Interface
I've tried many soft options and have read through probably 30+ guides. I have not tried the test point method because I do not want to void my warranty.
Anyone experience this and can help?
Thanks!
Try re-installing the driver and see if those adb/fastboot commands work.
U said u installed TWRP right . Then u can go to recovery by pressing volume up+power button and then install another custom rom or stock rom but if u have unofficial unlocked bootloader then flashing stock rom will relock ur bootloader and device will not bootup. So go for another custom rom like resurrection remix its super stable n smooth too.
Follow these two tutorials.

To enter EDL mode, you need to unplug the battery, wait 10 seconds, replug it. Then, remove the USB plug, replace it, then while holding both volume + and -, plug the phone in the computer using the original cable.
Make sure to check what you're getting in device manager. If you get USB_BULK, you need to download the drivers. If you're getting diagnostics, you did the earlier procedure wrong so try it again. If you're getting 9008, you've gained access to EDL.
Hi everybody , today I will share very easy way to unbrick your Lenovo Vibe Shot Z90a40 device .
In my case this device was bricked while instaling custom twrp recovery and custom android 7 OS I got device in that state so the problem was that you are unable to flash your device in diagnostic 9006 mode with to many read only partitions , which I was unable to format or delete in read only state , but actually the problems was not it those partition at all, is about to get
HS-USB QDLoader 9008 mode so you can flash stock firmware on it .
Preparing Steps to do before we start :
1. Disable or remove your Antivirus (because sometimes antivirus can block instaling drivers , ports or running flash tool)
2. Uninstall all the previous drivers you used for flashing or unbrick use free tool called USBDeview
for 32 bit users:
https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usbdeview.zip
for 64 bit users:
https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usbdeview-x64.zip
3. Put your windows in Test mode
To put your Windows in test mode just Run As Administrator Command Prompt and insert one of the following command:
bcdedit -set testsigning on ( to enable test mode)
bcdedit -set testsigning off ( to disable test mode)
Or Disable driver signature
for Windows 7
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gYhHD622AA
for Windows 10 users:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71YAIw7_-kg
After that reboot your PC .
4. Uninstall all flash program from your pc like MiFlash , QPST , Qloader ...
Use Revo Uninstaller for advanced uninstaling that clean leftover files and registry which is stored inside your Windows registry.
https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
After that reboot your PC .
5. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4 download from here: (if you already have instaled skip this)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851
6. Install first right Qualcomn driver download from here :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Sms71Oe6FIdUE4em9DNjV3Y00/view
Credits for driver : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8LoQb68tjBYxwN97b4pvtA
7. Install Lenovo USB driver download from here :
https://lenovousbdriver.com/tutorial/install-lenovo-usb-driver
8. Install Qpst (Qfil flash tool) download from here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Sms71Oe6FIVTRwbWpSdEZfM2c/view
9. Install Minimal ADB & Fastboot 1.4.2 command tool download from here
(while you start installing tool check to be in desktop is easy )
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120698566
in order to install run ADB & Fastboot 1.4.2.exe with Administrator and just write y and hit enter for all .
10. Download twrp recovery for fastboot flashing and extract to Desktop, download from here :
http://lenovo-forums.ru/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=56391
11. Download stock firmware for QPST Flashing ( inside is drivers and tools also but don't use that one's ) download from here :
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/HCn4/auVy8DVo1
Also extract stock recovery for later one inside adb folder
12. Very important is to use Original usb cable ! otherwise your device won't be recognized property!
13. Make sure your battery is charged if you are not sure put in charger for about 2 hours in charger on in pc!
If your device immediately show up Lenovo logo just hold Vol - and power button together release power button once is rebooting put keep holding Vol - it should be black screen now with white indicator while is charging if not , repeat this proces without charger. This is secure because if you let your phone to be charged with Lenovo logo device will be hot and probably the lcd will hot burning effect !!!
So Let's start
1. Make sure your device is OFF first !
2. Hold Vol + and Vol - buttons together in order to enter into FastBoot mode and hold it like that plug usb and see if windows is detecting your device then release buttons.
3. Now once the drivers are successfully installed run Minimal ADB & Fastboot tool .
4. Write command :
fastboot device and press Enter
(you should see your device available )
5. Now write :
fastboot flash recovery (drag inside command tool with mouse "recovery.img" extracted from stock recovery from preparing steps on 11.) and press Enter
6. Next write each command one by one :
fastboot erase cache and press Enter
fastboot erase system and press Enter
7. Now unplug your device from PC.
8. Enter to Lenovo stock recovery by holding 3 buttons :
Vol + & Vol - & Power button at the same time , release just power button once your device vibrate .
Once you see Lenovo MAIN MENU screen press on ''wipeuser data" and wipe each one ,
one by one :
fuse wipe data ( press on YES )
fuse format data ( press on YES )
wipe cache ( press on YES )
Now there is two method for fix :
#First method - Flashing ota firmware from stock recovery
This method is from forum.lenovo.com which doesn't work for me is fail at 49% probably because S208 is old version which is maybe not allowed because I flashed recovery from S363 firmware I don't know but you can try .
1. You need 4 gb or more micro SD card , also make sure is formatted with Fat 32 .
2. Download Z90a40_USR_S208_1507141216_Q2020131.4_ROW_OTAFull.zip, rename it to "update.zip"
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8CarqWdS9gZZmJmVGp6NkFWRlk/view
3. Copy it to micro SD card again 4 GB or more !
4. Go into recovery menu:
- turn off the phone
- hold both vol+ and vol- buttons
- power on phone, keep both vol+ and vol- keys pressed until it enters recovery
5. From recovery menu choose install update package
After that go back and press on "poweroff"
#Second method - Flashing stock firmware with Qfil
1. Hold Vol + & Vol - buttons and plug usb cable to enter into fastboot mode and open Minimal ADB & Fastboot to again .
2. Now to put your device in EDL mode and open HS-USB QDLoader 9008 for flashing write this command:
fastboot reboot edl and press Enter
Now you should see that your device is detected like "HS-USB QDLoader 9008" so wait for instalation of that driver.
If you are unable to reboot into EDL mode , flash twrp.img from "twrp/img" folder .
In order to flash twrp recovery probably you need to unlock bootloader , but try first without unlocking if is not flashing then unlock bootloader , if is flashing without unlocked bootloader skip this!
https://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/unlock-bootloader-android-phone-using-fastboot/
To do that just write :
fastboot flash recovery (drag inside command tool with mouse "twrp.img" from " twrp/img" folder ) and press Enter
3. Once is installed go to QPST directory in my case "C:\QPST\bin" and Run as Administrator "QFIL.exe."
.
Rest you have here here explained ...
https://www.gsmhelpful.com/2017/07/how-to-flash-lenovo-vibe-shot-z90a40-with-qfil-flash-tool.html
If for some reasons flashing is fail , plug usb in another usb port USB 2.0 (recommended) and repeat process.
DOWNGRADE from Marshmallow 6.0.1 to Lolipop 5.1
For those one's who want to downgrade device back to Lolipop try this at your own risk !!!
