DU is terrific! - Nexus 6P General

Running Dirty Unicorns official for 6P for 24 hours now and I'm not finding any flaws.
Everything I've tried works and it's been fast and smooth with the stock du kernel.
I've been sticking to stock based roms since nougat came out but couldn't resist the du temptation.
I'll probably try flash kernel at some point to see how it compares and I want to try a theme or 2 but I must say it is impressive and worth checking out.
DU gets little press on xda and I just wanted to give an opinion to those who may not be aware of how great this rom is.

I tought to try it too, just curios about a point, is there a way to enable pixel animated navigation bar? get used to it and i would miss it...

I haven't tried any mods yet so I don't know what will work and what won't.
I was happy to see that google assistant works perfectly as I wasn't sure that it was included and I had been enjoying it on megapixel and cortex and weta roms.
As I said, my next foray will be try a theme or 2.

In DU stock kernel, they have wlan_rx wakelock feature ?

Thx for the thread, I didn't know if they updated DU to 7.1.1.
Does the stock kernel allows us to change screen and sound profiles (color & volume control) by using a kernel app like Ex Kernel manager or kernel adiutor?

not so sure, but i know that when i flashed Flash v4.2 i had alot more options in the exkm app!
so i would suggest you to flash the Flash kernel to unlock most and all of the functions in the exkm app.

I'm still running stock du kernel as I wanted to give it a fair shake. How's flash run on this? I'm going to try it later when I have a few minutes. Thanks.

I flashed pure nexus gapps and had doubles of a few things like calendar and clock. If it does have them, its not a huge gapps package. Im loving the battery life with flash kernel. Its the best ive had. Cortex and pure nexus are close though. Im also running DU with data as f2fs. As far as the pixel mods go. I had fc of pixel launcher when trying to use the live earth wallpaper. I flashed pixel launcher and wallpapers separately because i got a bootloop with the full pixel mod that included the pixel startup intro thing. Pixel dialer works. Google assistant works. I had to select the live earth wallpaper from within the settings menu. I dont miss the animated nav bar since more 7.1.1 themes are available now. It causes conflicts. I love this rom.

How's the speed and gaming performance compared with stock or aosp source build roms?
I encountered more heating on du before(android 7.1), but i'm not sure of the newest du(android 7.1.1)

i have tried gaming, all is good.

I suggest to stick on the Stock Kernel, it's terrific as the Rom itself. And yes it does have Wakelock Toggler in EXKM.
DU is my go to Rom, the Team is great and they release just rock solid Builds. Compareable to Pure Nexus.

There's a 12/29 rc version on Google plus. Has anyone tried it and can it be dirty flashed over official?

Is there a link to the latest DU ? Because i've google'd it and theres only 6.0.1. I used 6.0.1 and its been amazing battery life but i wanted to get onto the latest firmware but it was terrible

Did you flash any kernel ? stock is better or not ? can you tell me please

Looking for recommendations on Rom and kernel

I'm looking for a Rom that's is all about fluid, speed and least lag possible. I'm not big on features and not to concerned about battery life.
Can someone recommend Rom or rom /kernel that would provide what I'm looking for?
I've browsed all the roms and just can't find enough info on what they offer.
Thanks in advance!
IMHO Dirty Unicorns is the best. They even have a 5.1 test build available which I am running.

Where can i find the Test build for 5.1 and how stable is it?
http://download.dirtyunicorns.com/files/
(I hope it's OK to post their main d/l page on xda)
N9 5.1 ROMs are a WIP right now. They're very usable, but won't be 100% until official factory images are released.
--- update ---
I just installed the DU 5.1 Test Build mentioned above, and it is indeed fast and stable. I think one of the keys to stability is installing the correct gapps package (people have reported wake locks and FCs on certain gapps). I used the arm64 minimal gapps from SlimRoms.

Nah, in my device i tried multiple lollipops but they are were laggy. So i got back on the latest cm 11 and things are smooth as silk.
I'm staying off lollipop for now.
I don't care about the super latest features, I rather have a stable and secure system.

Both Temasek and ArchiDroid are very fast and stable. I haven't try out the new versions of RR and Blisspop yet
bhai archidroid karle latest wala set hai !
Hi,
Haxynox is actually pretty fast and thin. Discovered a bug, but cannot post it there. So i'm thinking of kinda spamming this place till i get my count up to 10
But in general, KitKat seems better choice for i9300 era systems. Would be nice, if someone compiled as close to aosp kitkat as possible. CM was close, but now really gets bloated with its additional software. It even has CM account system. Maybe i will test out Omni.
Omni is ok, but no theme support, same like slim kk

No its not as much slimed down like Purex or Google -Style and far away from the ~300mb of AOSP - like Roms.
But hey, if you install it as your first rom, it will go on systems partition anyway, so why bother? There are lots of people that say it's smooth and battery saving (although some complain about 4.9 being not so battery -friendly as the version before).
I am curious about which marshmallow-roms will show up, and till then I just stay with GoogleStyle as my primary.
Even spent some Bucks on AOKP, cause they made my old HTC wildfire run android 4.04 with tons of features and a power -saving mode I haven't seen on any z2-rom (autoswitch to 2g at screen off) so far....

What's the best custom ROM right now?

As mentioned in the title, I'd like to know which is the best custom ROM option right now.
My device: RN3 SE (kate)
Depends on what your idea of "best" is:
Stability, battery life, speed or having the latest Android version.
You can't have them all in one ROM.
Mokee
there is no "best" rom!
each rom is made for people with different needs from a ROM! in stability and being fast most of them are almost the same because all are based on Lineage OS
Right now I stick to xiaomi.eu ROM. Everything works as expected. Lineage ROM suffers several camera and torch bugs.
Tired of trying Roms ?

No, because it uses same source then MIUI! No bugs at all...
I would recommend you Resurrection Remix, if you want features and customisations, but NitrogenOS is also good, it has most stable camera among nougat roms.

but in

if u want to have better backup with performance in resurrection rom , flash radon kernel
