Hello everybody,
I want to flash the madsurfer 20s. But I'm stock because of encryption in de stock 19S Indian rom. .
No zip file from the rom is visible in Twrp but it is in root of the device. Can somebody suggest me how to work around and install the new rom?
boot into twrp, and format the device and delete all data (this will of course delete everything that is on the device)
deactivate lock screen security may help, otherwise like greenManGaming said and push or sideload rom by ADB
Hi. Do this:
1. Make a Backup of all your data, when your phone is on connect to a PC and copy all your music and photos..
2. Boot your phone into fastboot (power button + vol up)
3. Open de CMD window in your folder where ASB was installed.
4. Type fastboot format userdata
5. Reboot the phone. Now, you can place the files you want into the phone and the TWRP will be able to see them.
Luck!

Seems to Install you need to use flash command instead boot. Boot command runs the recovery only once.

right! with boot the phone will only boot once in the chosen image (of course you can repeat that method as often as you want to), but if you want to boot into twrp repeatedly and there is no reason not to flash it you should flash the image, that will save time

I did this, then booted into stock and connected to MTP, transferred the zip again, and rebooted back into recovery to flash. It was an extra step, but it worked.

Put the original rom to the internal phone storage.
Change the name of the file to "update.zip".
Flash.

1) Download the Indian Le Max 2 ROM from here. Download fastboot and adb and install to your PC from here
2) Keep the firmware zip file in the fastboot, adb folder of your PC. In that folder, press Shift + Right click and click on "Open command window here".
3) Boot into TWRP recovery of your phone. (Power + Vol Up) button together at boot. Perform full wipe so that there is no OS installed.
4) Enter Adb sideload
5) On PC's command prompt window which we opened earlier, enter these commands adb sideload LE_X2_X820-OS-OP-FGXOSOP5801507066S-5.8.015S.zip
6) Wait for stock firmware and recovery to be installed. Takes a long time. You can again factory reset if you want to but I did not need to do it.
7) Phone should be stock now with google app store and least bloat in Indian ROM.
If your phone had stock Chinese firmware, download the Chinese ROM from here and change the filename during adb sideload command appropriately.
What do you mean with 4) Enter Adb sideload
Open adb Fastboot?minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4_setup??

Since you were on custom ROM cuoco, I assumed you were on TWRP recovery.
If you are in stock recovery,
Else, boot into cuoco ROM. Rename the LE_X2_X820-OS-OP-FGXOSOP5801507066S-5.8.015S.zip as update.zip.
Copy that update.zip to the SDcard directory. It's the same where Download, Music, Ringtone folders are located.
Boot into stock recovery (Turn off the phone and press Vol up + Power button) to boot into recovery.
Tick Update system and tap the Start button.
After the process is complete, boot again into recovery and this time select Clear data. Tis factory resets the phone.
yes thx.The stock recovery are only 2 steps right?
Are you sure the stock recovery will install custom ROM? I would rather use the boot command of Factbook to install custom ROM.

If twrp install correctly, in theory u can install any custom ROM by adb sideload...just make sure the computer can detect your le max2 by adb.

Hello guys.
I have been in the android world for a while, but just got this device.
I had tried to install twrp with no success. I already have bootloader unlocked by me with no issues, following a tutorial here. When I flash twrp it shows success but when I try to go there ñ, it just goes to miui recovery. When I boot directly from fastboot with:
Fastboot boot twrp.img
It goes there with no issues but of course, data is encrypted. So I want to install it in order to format my data and be able to root. Any ideas?
I researched and found that one way is to install a dev rom, but I really want to remain on stable one.
Thoughts?

Put a copy of twrp.img in your sdcard.
Put other copy of twrp.img in adb folder of your pc.
Type from a cmd with admin rights with device in fastboot mode connected to pc fastboot boot twrp.img and when you reboot to twrp slide allowing modifications and then flash your twrp.img through same twrp recovery
The first command will do that device can boot to twrp but it´ll not flash it in recovery partition.
The second action will flash it permanently onto your device.
Probably you´ll need to format data in order to can reboot to system again.

Thanks! I solved it after taking a look for a while. I do not have an sdcard, so I flashed it and then fastboot booted it, then I reboot recovery to make sure it was flashed and then formatted data. I worked flawlessly!
Hello, I'm kind of new at this (this is my first post) so be gentle
So, the last few days I've been trying to install a new rom on my phone (Redmi Note 4X) and the problems started with the model. I only seem to find Redmi Note 4 roms, and as I've come to find, mine is supposed to be the mido one (correct me if I'm wrong though). I have unlocked the bootloader, I have installed and enabled the fastboot on my phone, so the next step was to install the latest TWRP.
There came more problems; I tried doing this through the app and it just wouln't flash it. So I found a guide on how to root my phone and install a new recovery through adb and I followed it. It didn't work. I couldn't find the right twrp version for my phone. When I finally did realise my phone needed mido, I found the latest from the TWRP website. It wouldn't load through adb again. I found a thread about a fixed mido version, which finally worked for me. But my brother who was helping me, and isn't as much of a noob as I am (he has flashed rom and recoveries many times on his Nexus 5X), decided that I necessarily need the latest twrp if I'm going to flash a new rom, so he flashed the new twrp through the old one, and soft bricked my phone (I think). So I'm searching for a guide to unbrick it. (Which I can't seem to find to work at least).
To conclude;
I have unlocked my bootloader
I have access to the fastboot
I tried to flash a recovery
I failed many times, but I managed it
I flashed the latest twrp and bricked my phone
I don't have access to the recovery
My phone is still on a bootloop
I am not sure about which phone model I have
Help!
Thanks in advance.
1. Just check your phone model on its box. If its Snapdragon version (Mido), then just install it via fastboot. (code: fastboot flash recovery twrp-midoxx.img). If you are success, then try to reboot to recovery (fastboot boot twrpmido-xx.img). After booted, then you just manage to rom.zip you want to install. If you don't have it, then download it before from your PC and push it to your phone. Or just enable Mtp checklis from TWRP n copy that file to your internal phone/sdcard. Wipe all/factory reset except internal storage. Then you dan install rom.zip normally. N reboot. (Note: if you are on MIUI and wanted to always stay on it, just flash the file called lazyflasher.zip. n' wipe cache n art cache only then reboot). Flashing custom recovery on stock MIUI Will manage the device Going to bootloop)
2. If you have mediatek version (nikel), searching the fastboot Rom from miui website and flash it normally via fastboot. (SP Flash tool)
Warning: flash the wrong rom file into wrong phone Will make your device brick. So becarefull n knowing what model/code name you have.

Firstly, enter fastboot mode on your device. Connecting to pc and flashing the twrp for mido. "fastboot flash recovery twrp-mido.img". Then boot to it using " fastboot boot twrp-mido.img". Then you will enter the recovery (twrp) in a second. Copy the lazyflasher into your phone (enable mtp first in Mount option in twrp) that you downloaded from pc. Just flash the lazyflasher.zip and reboot.
And why you don't want to flash lazyflasher when it very easy to flash it using recovery twrp? adb? You mean android debugging? Actually, you cant flash a .zip file into your system partition except through fastboot mode. However, fastboot mode (in cmd) only recognize a .img file. I just try to tell you the easier method to make your device boot up.

Ok, I am new to this. My op3 was on oxygen os 5.0.8. I first unlocked my bootloader, then flashed twrp, and through twrp i have flashed Magisk 18.1. Then I cleared data, dalvik and cache and started a reboot. I am now in a bootloop, tried to uninstall Magisk through the uninstaller, but still i am in a bootloop. So please help me with the bootloop or guide me on how to get back to stock rom and recovery.

What happens when you place your stock boot image somewhere you can access from TWRP and try?
If you want to try fastboot method:
Download the version of OxygenOS you’re currently on
Extract the contents of the ZIP file from Step 1
Copy/move the boot.img file to the same directory as your ADB/Fastboot tools
Launch a Command Prompt, Terminal or PowerShell in that directory
Boot the OnePlus 3 into Fastboot Mode
Connect the OnePlus 3 to the PC with a USB cable
Type the following into the Command Prompt, Terminal or PowerShell. . .
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
. . .then press Enter on the keyboard
Wait for the boot IMG file to be sent and written
Then press the Power button on the OnePlus 3 to reboot back into Android

Hi! in the following command
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot is the tool
flash is the operation
boot is the destination partition
and boot.img is the source
so to answer your question, TWRP should remain unaffected, as it should reside on your recovery partition

Ok i did a wipe on cache, dalvik and system, flashed the official os zip file with TWRP and i am still stuck in a bootloop. I haven't tried your method yet where you flash the boot.img as it's just 15mb while the zip file is 1.5gb. What am i missing here? Is my TWRP recovery installing the os zip file correctly? I am stuck.
This is what i have done till now:
Unlocked my bootloader
Flashed official TWRP (twrp-3.2.3-1)
Then cleared data, cache, dalvik and flashed Magisk
Rebooted and got stuck in a bootloop
Used magisk uninstaller but didn't work
Downloaded official Oxygen OS 5.0.8 and then went to twrp, wiped dalvik, cache, data, system and then flashed the zip file.
Rebooted and still stuck in a bootloop
I am now scared that this phone won't startup. Please provide a solution.
Ok, i have followed the mega unbrick guide for oneplus 3 and it has finally come out of the bootloop, it's now updating to the latest oxygen os. Sadly i donno what went wrong the 1st time i tried to root with Magisk, maybe the oreo on the op3 doesn't support magisk. If it's possible can you guide me into rooting the phone with magisk, as most of the tutorials are old and for marshmallow rom and recovery. Thanks.
Hi,
Here is a long story of bricking my device, I wanted to downgrade my device from Oreo to Nougat, and somehow I installed wrong software, mine is RNE-L21 and after successful downgrade with this method:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3vqb8hPZIQ
version of software I installed: RNE-L21C461B153CUSTC461D001
my device was NEO-something, in settings it showed 3GB of RAM instead of 4GB, screen resolutution 1280x720 instead of fullHD and 32GB of internal memory instead of 64, so I wanted to change that.
This time I downloaded (not so sure about this now) proper version of firmware: RNE-L21C432B135CUSTC432D001, and used another method because previous method didnt work, link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76503686&postcount=46
the HuRUpdater scrpit worked fine, I booted up the device and nothing was changed, so I was like, well, ok then.
but then I noticed that my bootloader was locked, so I wanted to unlock it, and after typing the *fastboot oem unlock code* and selecting yes on my device, It rebooted and just stuck at the "Powered by andriod" logo.
I was trying to enter TWRP but id doesnt work, its stuck at the loading screen, I was unable to enter fastboot, but now I figured out that when I discharge it, I'm able to enter fastboot.
So now I'm stuck, I don't know what should I do.
I saw a guide for flashing .img files from UPDATE.APP, but that guide was for Oreo, and I've got diffrent .img files inside my Nougat UPDATE.APP so I don't want to risk:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/help/mate-10-lite-bricked-t3794236

you should format by using fastboot. First download your stock ROM and extract with Huawei Firmware Extracter. Select UPDATE.APP and extract following files:
erecovery_kernel.img
erecovery_ramdisk.img
erecovery_vbmeta.img
cust.img
erecovery_vendor.img
kernel.img
ramdisk.img
recovery_vbmeta.img
recovery_vendor.img
system.img
Reboot your device in to fastboot mode (recovery mode) and flash those files one by one:
fastboot flash erecovery_kernel erecovery_kernel.img
...
fastboot flash system system.img
//
Erase your userdata space:
fastboot -w
//reboot
fastboot reboot
Now go to your stock recovery and do factory reset, wide cache.
Now your device back to stock OREO

HOW I FIXED:
I downloaded this EMUI 5 Nougat, Thanks to bozka1:
https://androidhost.ru/5SZ
I extracted UPDATE.APP file using Huawei Update Extractor.
I was trying to flash everything via fastboot: BOOT.img, RECOVERY.img, RECOVERY2.img, CUST.img, SYSTEM.img but nothing helped me.
I found out what you can flash via fastboot here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/huawei-fastboot-commands-t3850123
There was no hope for me, so I tried to flash USERDATA.img
fastboot flash userdata USERDATA.img
Click to collapse
And then cmd promped something unusual:
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'userdata' (24576 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.646s]
writing 'userdata'...
(bootloader) success to erase cryypt info in oeminfo
OKAY [ 1.401s]
finished. total time: 2.049s
Click to collapse
Then I proceeded to flash: BOOT.img, RECOVERY.img, RECOVERY2.img and CACHE.img
I didn't flash SYSTEM.img because I flashed it before like 1500 times.
My phone didn't work yet so I used the DLOAD method because RECOVERY finally worked, so I shut down the device and used three buttons combo:
First holding Volume Up, Volume Down and then pressing Power Button.
There is a documentation in the firmware I downloaded, SDcard must be in exFAT format.
Thank You bozka1.

- fastboot devices - this command will verify connection in fastbot mode (you will see your serial number)
-fastboot flash recovery2 TWRP-MATE.img
-fastboot reboot - the device will reboot
Now you can boot into TWRP mode using button Volume Up after rebooting.
Reboot to TWRP, Select Install, navigate to oeminfoRNE-L21C432 and confirm. Go back to the TWRP main menu, select Reboot and Power Off.
Now you can try flash the Service ROM with three buttons combo. GL!

So I'll have to wait a little before I'll download Service ROM, my internet connection isn't the greatest, but I flashed Your TWRP and unfortunately it doesn't work;
If I hold the Power button and Volume Up - the same story as before, I see the loading TWRP screen and nothing happends,
If I let the device to boot up and then press only the Volume Up button - it says "Your device is booting up" and nothing happens.
By the way, what can happen when I'll use "fastboot flash recovery something.img" instead of recovery2?
EDIT:
I did some testing and Your TWRP doesn't boot at all on my device, I flashed another one, Catuva21 3.1.1 Nougat, and that is the one that I had before - it is booting but never loads.

TWRP will automatically overwrite Stock recovery, it's impossible to flash something from dload without Stock recovery .
Using command "recovery2" you will install TWRP over eRecovery .
Try flash Service ROM from SD card without TWRP & oeminfo flashing, but Im not sure... your system is heavily damaged and incomplete .

So the phone would boot up the TWRP without pressing anything? Damn, I might have done that typo error... Do You know if I can restore the stock recovery from the UPDATE.APP file? I mean flash it

Yeah, I've done it already, unfortunately nothing changed. How about BOOT.img? Can this influence something?
EDIT:
I also wonder about just following the steps in my first post, I've got UPDATE.APP for Oreo, but I don't know if it will only make it worse.

Do I have to install oeminfo to be able to use the "three buttons combo"? Because I tried it today and it doesn't work, phone is just stuck at "Your device is booting.." screen, guess I'm out of luck
I fixed it, solution will be attached to first post.

Alright, so did it just happened randomly or did you tried to do something with your phone? Did you unlocked bootloader or flashed custom recovery etc? You need to explain what happened, that's quite important if you want someone to help you.
