Hello guys, I just purchased a z2 sgp561 tablet (verizon) from ebay, the tablet works quite great but I can't find any messaging app nor phone call app (dial pad), but from my research this is supposed to support phone calls and messaging app. I noticed while setting up the phone it gave an error (This sim is from an unknown source) hence cannot activate the tablet. But surfing with the sim works just great. I am not in the U.S. so I can't get a verizon sim to activate the tablet. Is there a way to get those apps activated on the tablet and remove the error it gives? Also I tried a system update to lollipop to no avail, I keep getting (Error during DM session).
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
best Regards.

Although I don't often need SMS functionality from my tablet, I have noticed that for the last few months I can no longer send text messages.
It used to work - I have GoSMS installed and can see messages I sent in January. After talking to O2 UK for over an hour, I took a trip to my local store, where they tested my SIM which IS working fine - when it's not in my N9!
I tried a factory reset.
My tablet is locked and not rooted. I updated to 5.1.1 from the image on Google's site.
Sim does work in other devices.
Is no one else having problems sending SMS on their LTE N9 then?
I thought I'd update as so many views of thread.
My O2 sim works in any device EXCEPT my Nexus 9. Data Works, but no SMS.
Any other Network sims work in my Nexus 9, so it's not a problem with tablet from what I can see. I think something must have happened when I rooted the device when on Android 5.0.2. Device was then unrooted and bootloader re-locked (only do this on stock roms!).
Got a new sim on the way. Will update soon.
reverted to 5.0.1
So I decided to flash 5.0.2 - nothing changed, flashed 5.0.1 and bingo! It works.
I then let tab update to 5.0.2 - still working
Then let it update to 5.1.1 - FAIL - data works, but no sms
Update:
After RMAing for screen problems, the replacement I got connects to 4g fine, but still no SMS or MMS.
I sideloaded Google messenger, when I send SMS it says 'Can't send message using CARD 1: Error -1
MMS says 'Service not activated on network'
O2 have sent new sims, reprovisioned the tablet, but still nothing Is no one else having this problem?
Tablet Info
Thought I'd drop a screen-shot of my Tablet Info in to see if anyone sees anything unusual that might be causing my problems....

Did you find a solution to your problem? This seems to be the only place where I can find this same error message.

Nope - no solution. You have this problem as well?
I'm on Android N preview 2 now and was hoping it would be fixed, but it's not. Still the only way I can send/receive SMS is to downgrade to Android 5.0.2
I had to give up my Samsung phone for a dual sim phone, Sony M4 Aqua. I got GFM working with Lollipop from a download on this site. I can get notifications working, but not for phone calls. I've tried my best to search this problem, but I have not found a definitive answer. Is it because of dual sim? Is there any hope of getting call notifications working? I can live without sending reject messages, if I can just see who's calling.
Hello,
I bought SGP561 (Android 4.4.2 and Build Number 17.1.D.0.437) and using Vodafone India sim in it, data (internet through sim) is working fine but there is no option of voice calling (dialer). I installed Dialer+ and Contacts+ from Playstore but whenever dialling a number i get voice calling not available. How can I rectify this error?
I have rooted the tablet and I wish to uninstall all the Verizon apps on it. I tried with Kingroot Purify but it isnt working. Any solutions for it?
Thanks
Hello and greetings,
i´m using a telekom multisim card with my z3 and z4 tablet and also notebook. with parallel ringing, even the z4 tablet shows me every call and - if z3 was out of range - missed calls only! this is a huge problem so i´m asking if there is a way to disable calls in tablet? i´m not sure but there is no option, maybe with special gsm codes?
Thank you for your help in advance,
greetings,

I recently upgraded to a unlocked s23 ultra from a T-Mobile s20+ and immediately I started having issues with google messages. I had google messages installed on my s20+ with no problems switching between sim cards during a conversation. On my S23U, the app forces sim 1 to be default and when I attempt to use sim 2 it automatically defaults back to sim 1. Its so frustrating because it worked perfectly fine on my old phone and now it just wont.
Google says its a Samsung problem, Samsung says its a google problem. Both are pointing fingers at each other. Using Samsung's default app works fine and even using TEXTRA works fine as well. I hate the fact I cant use RCS anymore (unlocked phone) and can't use my computer at work to reply to texts.
I have uninstalled the app, cleared the cache, clear the data, even installed the APK from a 3rd party to see if it was a Samsung skin issue, rebooted the phone, even did a factory reset. Nothing worked.
Slot 1 is physical T-Mobile, Slot 2 is mint mobile esim. Same configuration on my old S20+
Please, can anyone help?
After some brainstorming, while I can't say thus 100% the issue but it may be the February update that may have caused this problem. The dual sim function worked fine for the 1st 2 days I had the phone but then when it was updated no it wont work. Anyone else having this issue?

Unfortunately I have not found a solution. Everytime an update gets released I hope it gets fixed but nothing so far. I've reverted to using samsung messages for now.
I do want to do a factory reset without using smart switch and see if it works but I haven't had much free time recently
Odd thing, i wanted to test google messages pairing and Dual sim works fine on PC when selecting a sim but the native android app doesn't work for me. It always defaults to Sim 1 when i try to select a sim 2.
How can I submit this issue to google directly besides using the feedback option in the app. I see there's a website for official google bug tracking but don't know how to report it
Weird. Mine works just fine. I have physical Sim 1 as Tmobile and Esim as ATT

I'd like to pick your brain. Do you have a factory unlocked U1 S23U? Do you have google's carrier services installed?
What app version of google messages are you running? Are you running the March 2023 software versions of samsung and google play services?
I cant't figure out whats wrong on my end and i'm going crazy trying to troubleshoot it.
I may have found the problem.
I factory reset my phone without using smart switch and dual sim worked in google messages fine. Then one by one I started using smart switch through USB external backup and restoring my data and testing messages. It finally stopped working when I restored my text messages backups.
It appears restoring your text messages with Google messages breaks dual sim. So I factory reset the phone again and restored with everything except sms backups and it works fine now. I can live with a fresh clean plate of text messages. I'm actually happy to have RCS back now.
Just make sure you get yourself a usb-C flash drive and back up your data before factory reseting your phone. I got this one on amazon, and it worked out great https://a.co/d/eM0IImx
