Was wondering if anyone using the Chinese version on the phone managed to create an account on the ZTE market APP?
this is required in order to access the Dynamic lock screen wallpapers (for example).
The issue here is that it asks you to type your phone number in order to send back an SMS with the Verification code,
but every combination that i tried (i.e. with an international prefix, + before the number, The number iteself...) is rejected.
Thanks,
Good question. Would like to know if there is a way as well?
You might try this:
00 + 1 + City Area Code + Phone Number
That is the way I used to have to call back to the states when I lived in China if memeory serves.

do you know what 'bumping' is, on a forum?
I 've contact Zte for this, they ask a ton of stuff, like IMEI, model purchase date, I even attached picture with the sticker in the box, so they will sent me(hopefully)an answer.,a link probably.I took the chance to complain about it. I suggested to ask an email. Do you want an update with what happened?

Try ALK Technologies website, I'm using it with my gpad,Tomtom reciever and it works great.
Have a friend buy it on their phone...
I had my friend buy it on his Droid X and then just copy the APK over to my G-Pad and installed it. Worked fine.
I have CoPilot Line USA installed on my gTab. But when i launch the app i get "Your Device ID (IMEI) is invalid."
Any ideas on how to fix this ?

I have the same issue. Latest update on the market did it. Support says they will have a fix early next week.
I'd like the earlier version in the meantime also. It also has bugs, but I could work around them.

How do we activate this or purchase?
You have to purchase it on the market. The new file they have isn't working properly. This is the previous version. So go to the market and purchase it. Then delete the downloaded file (the one you purchased) and replace it with this one. Allegdegdly there will be a fix sometime next week. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Thank you. That got me up and running again.
My guess is that they were trying to strengthen their licensing, and forgot that a lot of tablets don't have phones in them. Thus the tablets don't have the file the new version was looking for. The version you uploaded has a bug that sometimes asks for your license number in the middle of getting location information, but you can back out and work around that bug.
Jon
Its asking me for a 15 digit order number....my Google checkout receipt has a very long number....not 15 digits. How are u guys getting around this?
Once you purchase the app, they will send you a license key. It can take a few days to get this and in the mean time you get a cryptic message. Be patient.
I googled solutions to fix "Your device is not compatible with this version" when downloading new apps, and followed the directions on this video. My phone started having the issue described (reboot loop), so I attempted to follow the accompanying video, but could not get it to work. I figured if I did a factory reset, it would put my phone back to how it was, erasing the changes I tried to make. However, it did not fix the issue.
I just bought this phone 3 weeks ago and now I can't use it. I'm on a fixed income (Peace Corps volunteer on a living stipend) and spent nearly my whole month's allowance to get this phone. Right now I can't afford to take it to a Samsung store to fix it, and I'd prefer not taking it there anyway as I'm in a city that I don't live in right now which is clear across the country from my home, so if I take it there, I may have to leave before they are able to fix it.
Is there someone here who would be willing to skype-walk me through trying to fix the phone on my own? Apparently I'm not capable of doing it myself, and I really want my phone fixed.
Thanks!

Hello XDA community
A friend of mine with an android device has been hacked "by a phone call" has he said. The phone number of the believed "attacker" does not exist anymore and seemed to have existed only a few hours. This arose some questions about what I believed. Can some of you tell me what you think about the questions below. If you have some pointers to help me know more about these topics, I would appreciate. If I missed topics on xda forum regarding these questions, please forgive me, and points me to the topic I missed.
1st - Has he really been hacked by a phone call ? In my understanding, as long as you don't activate 3G/4G, your android is just a phone, and thus can just handle duplex audio data. What about exploit targeting the phone application that, with just GSM protocol or payload corruption, can hack your phone ? I thougt this fairly unprobable. Now if 3G/4G is activated, is phone is just a machine on the network, with some ports open, so he is vulnerable. What about exploit that could run over 3G if you accept a call ? Can a vulnerable phone apk enable a hacking of the phone receiving a phone call ?
2nd - How did the attacker procured a phone number without giving its ID papers in france ? Buying a sim card normaly require a valid ID paper like a passport. Is it always the case ? Is it possible to have a mobile phone number without buying a SIM card ?
3rd - Given the recent informations I google on internet, I guess he has been hacked by Stagefright.
As he rooted his device, I would avised him reset to factory device. As a paranoid, I would say this is unsufficient : if his phone is compromised, the attacker could have compromised his recovery too. So I would better say him : flash bootloader if possible, and flash a stock rom then boot into recovery. And after, rune an apk to test if vulnerable to stagefright and a patch to correct.
Than you for your answers
Hi
First I'm sorry that this happened to your friend.
1. In Switzerland, many people was also hacked by a phone call. But he/she only stoled user data (Photos/Music/Videos/etc.) If they had Mobile Data enabled, I don't know.
2. Some country's (like Portugal) hasn't number that are registered with the name of the person. You can simply go to a mobileshop and ask for a SIM-Card and they simply sell it to you (I know it's a really bad thing )
Good luck to your friend restore his phone

You can walk into just about any side store km the states and buy a phone and reg it with any name you want. You would be amazed at the names people use for accounts. Some just leave it blank.

Interesting. Im sure you could find away around it if you try hard enough. Which is what he most likely did.
Now When you say someone hacked his phone, how does he know he was hacked? What are the issues that made him think so?

Yes, probably. I saw a video from a tech university with the POC on how to cheaply buy phone numbers to issue SMS campaign, I don't know if this is still applicable.

I had a short conversation with him, and he described applications installing alone, sms sent from his phone... Since I still could not get my hands on the device itself, I agree there is still a doubt on that point. He just remembered a strange phone call some weeks ago, but I am not convinced by the phone call that hacked his phone.

To be honest I am as well. Things that he is talking about could not have been set up during a phone call. Unless the person gave enough info that the offender could have hacked into the account. This would allow install of apps. I have a feeling it is something else. A logcat will be able to help determine what is the issue but the best bet is a full wipe, flash and some password changes.

I agree. I think the call has nothing to do with the symptoms he observes... I did not took time to POC stagefright at home, but from what I read it can be done silently via MMS. It's one hypothessis. ATM there ar many. Still don't have news from him. I'll just wait now.

In my experience with Nessus or Nexpose, a vulnerability scan cannot be assessed as a POC. Not being vulnerable certainly prove your immnunity, but the opposite is not true.

Hi guys,
I've broken my Display from my Mi 10 5g.
There a 2 different types of displays. One produced by Samsung (Version S) and one by Huaxing (Type C)
I've tried to find out with App Device Info HW, at Point LCM is: j2_p2_1_38_0c_0a_dsc_cmd.
With bugreport at line msm_drm.dsi_display0=qcom
Under version information is nothing noted for display.
Maybe somebody could help me here, because I can still use my phone and want to buy a new display and then disassembly.
Cheers, Andy

Yes, use App Device Info and look at the item LCM.
My number was j2_p2_1_38_0c_0a_dsc_cmd and it's the Samsung panel.
If you have the other one there should by another number here, but I'm not sure (XX)
j2_p2_1_XX_0c_0a_dsc_cmd I think it's 42 or so.
But when you buy this one:

I've got it from log too, so you can generate a log file with the service and feedback application and read it out from there.
I would read the file from a PC because it's very big.

If you want to take the "secure" way, just buy the c-version with the conversion board. If you had huaxing, the display will work immediatly, if not just apply the board plus it's the cheaper one ;-)
mine (( j2_mp_42_02_0b_dsc_cmd )) is huaxing or samsung? from post before, i can see that mine is not 38, but 42, which means its huaxing?
