Bad battery life - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

I have redmi note 3 pro, currently running rr 5.7.4., latest build, + radon kernel v 3.4 and look at my battery. This is not normal behaviour.
Look at the screenshots, and please give me some advice what to do.

Do u have xposed installed and if u have it what modules do u have?
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 Pro

Yes I have. I have android n-ify and amplify

U can try to uninstall android n-ify, restart and see what is going on after that. There are some people who uses this module and have battery drain problems...I know that some xposed modules also have problems with custom MM roms, such as flat style colored bars, also high battery drain (this is not visible in Amplify, WLD or BBS)https://www.google.rs/search?num=20...y+drain&oq=xposed+android+n-ify+battery+drain
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 Pro

I uninstalled it, thanks bre
If that doesnt help, what should be the next step? But I prefer something that won't involve wiping everything and factory reset.

Well bre wait for a while and u will see what is happening. Btw messenger for fb sucks, also fb app is draining a lot of battery (ako je verovati ovom nasem domacem sajtu cak i do 20% moze da se ustedi baterija ako se uklone ove 2 aplikacije, pozdrav) http://mondo.rs/a969500/Mob-IT/Aplikacije/Messenger-najgora-aplikacija-2016.godine.html

Always best to start a fresh. Stop applications starting at startup, running in the background, etc, if they don't need to.

you should try to flash stable rom version

Thats some pretty awesome stats even for a stock GB
And Now I present to you gentlemen then infamous flatline which I have been searching for
Overnight discharge 0%
App which I think made it possible.
Greenify
And various In ROM tweaks.
One whole week of full charge to full discharge. Combined with the app mentioned & tweaks in ROM I could achieve a flatline(meaning 0% discharge) when the screen was off. But the problem is when the screen came back on battery dropped 1% every 15-20 Mins(with net turned on)

Sure!
Well i did a lot of things but those which concern battery use were:
-After some trying other roms i noticed that .431 had better battery use and a lot of mods so i choose this one to make my perfect rom.
-Removed all bloatware and even some non bloatware system apps that i dont use (taken from several threads like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614761
, I experimented freezing some apps that i thought werent necessary but i didn t want to delete, like clockserivice.apk or even semcalendar.apk
-Installed New xperia JB 4.2 Adreno libs for our little arm cpu.
-Ive tried Greenify but it doesnt seem to work for me.(but my mini pro doesnt need it , its super fast)
-Most recently ive frozen SystemUI service "LoadAverageService" Which seems to take some unecessary RAM Use. (i havent had any problem)
-I've searched for those apps that are light , fast and RAM friendly (Nova launcher, quickpic, whatsapp+ , google keyboard, etc)
(replaced sony camera app with JB camera sony camera had some thumbnail bug)
-I dont use Facebook app everytime i install it my phone slows down.
-Moved most of apps to sd via ext partition ( Link2sd) ive only left in internal those one that i really need to be responsive like the app launcher
Also fixed most problems with .431 rom like the LED and some other things i really cant remember ( ive had this rom for so much time , that level of satisfaction i have)
In things not related to battery:
-Installed Stock AOSP FUll Black SystemUI (I love the JB UI) (modded by me to have a clock) from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840580.
-JB 4.3 Font
-JB animation

Thanks I will try it to .587 on my mini. About the link2Sd, does it lessen the memory card life when used.
How did youdisable the LoadAverageService? Titanium backup?

I tried the disable service app, and disable the loadaverageservice, but with the extent that the disableservices app is having 12mb on the ram. Is it still worthy to use it?
And I also see that google services app has many running services, is there any safe to disable?

This is the thread where i got the trick http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2372363 maybe you can look for more opinions , for me its worth it as it doesnt affect any functionality in my sk17
About disabling google services , do some research (or crazy experiments  ) about what does it do every running service you would like to stop. I still dont have knowledge enough to recommend mingling with that services and i totally wouldnt recommend it.
cheers friend

battery saver & autostart manager, which are already in stock miui rom, should work great
no 3rd party apps required imo
use greenify and enable doze if u have root+xposed
Also, there's a powerful tool called power nap. But be careful if you will use it. Make sure you exclude most of the system apps.
Sent from Note 3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
I use both... But amplify I only can block couple

What he said. MIUI is vicious on background apps. I use Greenify on miui only for its one click lock function these days.

EMUI 5 .x and Greenify

Hi,
anyone here who run this combination without any problems ?
As EMUI is very special about energy optimization i wonder if its a good idea to run Greenify on it.
Will agressive doze and doze on the go work without interfere with EMUI ?
In EMUI you don't need any third party apps for battery saving.. EMUI is already optimised for it..
But if you want best battery saver app for another devices then got it from here https://howtoways.com/force-stop-all-android-apps-in-one-click-no-root/
thanks for that information. Meanwhile I installed Greenify and no problems so far. If there is some benefit I cannot say right now.

Battery Life Guide

how improve battery life on your Note 8 but i want present my guide how get more battery life
This guide i recommend to use with rooted device.
1. Use custom rom i recommend hades rom & deluxerom but in my case most recommended is Deluxe rom because have own kernel which greatly improve battery life.
2. Use custom kernel. As i say before Deluxe kernel or Phantom kernel both is very good and stable.
3.All Pie roms have Night Mode use it because black color devices improve battery a little.
4.If you rooted first what you need to do is remove bloatware and uninstall all apps which you not need.
5.If you rooted and use Magisk root i really recommend you us this two modules FDE.AI & NFS INJECTOR
6.Do not use any App Killee all thats apps run in background and eat battery and ram
7.Only one app i really recommend and i use it from the first day when its released its not FREE app but its worth every money and this is SDMaid PRO you can find it on Google Play Store
8.If you want test an custom rom test it Deluxe ROM its include chines smart manager which have more functions than default smart manager.
9.Now about apps almost all apps i means newest version include dark mode use it like Google Chrome, Viber, WhatsUp, Telegram and others
10.About Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram all thats app eat battery i know i use all this apps few years and now i remove all. But i not say you need remove Facebook just use and LITE version or find here on XDA modded with integrated messenger and with dark mode. Almost 50% eat social apps
11.Disable NFC, Bluetooth, 3G, LTE or WIFI when you not need and one of the important thing is synchronization this **** run 24/7 and just for reason you have all notifications in real time i disable it on all my devices.
12.Games almost everyone like play an game on phone like PUBG or other just care your phone not be hot on some internet shops you can get joystick with integrated fan for cooling down your phone.
13. Display settings in my case i have brightness on 45% all time but never on 100% or more than 60% .....In resolution i recommend you set on HD+ and not FHD+ its same **** i almost not see any difference
14.Developer settings if you not know what is it you have a lot tutorials how enable it. Here in dev options i recommend you set all animations to 0x and app restriction to 4
I update my guide soon with new tips for improve battery life without lose on battery

There are only a few rules to save your battery
Don't have ****ty apps which suck juice
Use auto brightness, never go full sun
I am using standard oneui pie with stock kernel and I get 9+ hours Screen on time
No need for custom stuff
In short u mean use Nokia 3310...
N FYI regarding point 5,u can't use both module together they will conflict with each other.

About point 5. I not say you need enable or use both modules.
And i not say you need all this steps use to improve battery life. I just write how you can improve battery but all other is depend of user if user use all steps or just few of them.
All this steps is for battery life and little on performance so you are FREE to choose which one you want

Number 14 in your list even needs more battery.
The app restriction
If you set it to 4 your phone often needs more CPU power to reopen the apps
This needs more power than to just leave them in the background (ram needs power anyway)

Yes i agree for stock rom and kernel on custom kernel is that restriction almost invisible if you have good kernel with perfect settings like Phantom kernel
Poslano z mojega SM-N950F z uporabo Tapatalk
No, thats just not true.
This only applies to apps which are using a lot of energy in the background.
Then the OS kills(not, because it uses a lot of energy, but because of 4 apps in background restriction) this Apps, which leads to better battery life
The best way to save battery is to switch off the phone.
Couple of points are useful.. but many other points are based on the usage.
Basically what you're doing is taking the "smart" out of your smartphone. You might as well use a feature phone from 15-years ago.
No matter where I go, I have a charger with me or near me. I'm almost never in a situation where I'm scared my phone will die and I won't be able to charge it. If the battery gets low, I put it on charge. Simple.
I don't need to go an entire day with my phone on battery, if there is a charger right next to me.
Battery saving tips are pointless. Just use your phone. You paid a lot of money for it.

I read somewhere that it's because one core is always running on 100%, but I used a custom rom based on Android 10 and lowered the clock speed by 25% and the battery life was still ****, so I really don't know why the hell is it still this bad on Android 10
Im on custom rom too, but on EvolutionX (android 10) and battery is quite good..Dont know did you mean custom MIUI rom or other like the one Im on.
That's a lot better than what I got on the same rom lol
Is it possible to flash from global MI to EU?
I'm already some kind of disappointed by Xiaomi's update policy regarding the global MI ROM....
Yes it does.
Clock app UI is fixed in the update!
Hi guys,

I am on MIUI 11.0.1.0 and not having any of these bugs. Immensity kernel (last stable for miui version)
Battery life is stellar! Browsing for 50mins-60mins will drain by 4%. CPU cores behaving normally with all of them downlocking to the lower clocks(525-750Mhz) including the prime [email protected] 825MHz.
Use Greenify to disable unnecessary background apps and remove or atleast freeze by titaniumbackup apps which run in background by default but which you dont use on daily basis (for me it's facebook services, google's music, photos, etc etc)
Just got the update today here in europe.
Aside from other stuff, I noticed the 24hour wallpaper is gone. This means you can't use any 3rd party apps to change the lock screen wallpaper anymore. Google wallpapers and such only affect the homescreen....
Anyone got a workaround for this already or are we stuck with MIUI lock screen wallpapers?
