yeaaaaah finally
GODSPEED land
(pardon me for the Caps LOL)
And @zwliew already started to work with sources.
Follow commits: kernel, device, vendor
He enabled quick F2FS support and seems implemented better cores power management.
BTW here's his CM13, for now with old MIUI kernel.
Seems next version will be built from source because commits belongs to cm-13 branch.
Yay new year gift,,,,

Until Google, AOSP, Huawei and HTC fixes up the currently rather nasty battery/stability issues for 6P and Pixel(s) at the very least, then and only then it'd be advisable for devs to ante it up.

Silly question....
I'm undecided between the xiaomi mipad and the Nokia n1
.... I notice that there isn't any support on XDA for both tablets making my purchase decision difficult.
What's your take on this, im on the look for a 4:3 aspect ratio and 7.4 inch ish tablet size, should I look somewhere else other then those? Thanx
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
ive no personal experience with the N1, but i can say that ive really enjoyed my mipad. im impressed with the build quality.
i run the latest "global" miui rom rooted.
also xiaomi is expected to release the source code before to much longer.. which means 3rd party roms would be quick to follow.
What do u mean with GLOBAL ?

i bought mine from china (i live in the US) it came with a version of miui that had several Chinese apps that looked to do similar stuff to google.. and it didnt have any google apps. once i swapped to the global version of miui i really liked the tablet.
from miui.com you can download 3 roms
mipad china:
-developer
-stable
mipad global:
-stable
if you install cwm you can easily root any of them, if you stick with original recovery you can only root the developer.
also there are several developers in russia and india that are just waiting for source code to drop. and its expected to happen fairly soon (assuming mipad follows the general path of other xiaomi products)
Xiaomi seem taking their sweet time lol,is already one year old if I'm correct.
What is the path that usually they use for their phones regarding the code?

Lets hope for Kernel sources to be released[Mi Pad]

Xiaomi is usually hesitant to release the code, sometimes due to too much pressure created they may release all at once as happened in the beginning of this year with mi 3, mi 4, redmi note all code being released, except Mi Pad.
Lets hope Xiaomi releases it soon so that Lag Free Roms can be developed for this beastly device!
Do you guys feel the need to have a Paranoid Android ROM for Honor 5X. If yes, please help me out by getting the AOSP code.
P.S. I am not a developer, though I can be a device maintainer for this ROM.
Definitely feel the need. Here's the manifest. https://github.com/AOSPA/manifest AOSPA gives very good instructions in the readme
Yes please! I would love to see AOSPA on the Honor 5x
@mumith3 can you build this bro?

Well, I already tried to build AOSPA & AOSCP, Both were buggy as hell Booted, but almost unusable. :crying: :crying: :crying:
Unfortunately I'm not expert enough ( you can mark me as a noob actually ) to fix them.
Recently all are waiting for nougat rollout. So am I.
even some ROMs manifests on Github are already updated to nougat!!!
Lets wait for a stable device tree to be rolled out for our device. Looking forward to our chief devs( crpalmer, baddaemon, gopi, jsbeyond & all)
Cheers!

You're welcome mate. I myself do hope that , The more the merrier.
Actually development seems to be halted & I myself can't say that I'm not restless... but without a stable device tree or kernel, I can't build myself. But I can assure development is NOT halted & devs are surely looking into stuffs in their free time for the sweet( I mean nougat ofcourse )
BTW, did you try building rom yourself? or have any cool ideas about testing different toolchains with different roms?
I'm currently testing UBER toolchain with RR, it does not work weel :crying: :crying: :crying: & I don't know whats the problem :crying:

So I've been trying a number of Nougat Roms lately and have found curiously that all of (atleast the one based on strix cm base) have insane volume output (like 50% more at least from stock) through speakers. I was wondering if the devs did this knowingly or is it some software amplification hack which will eventually damage the speakers

This is how it used to be!! Atleast on MIUI ROMs. This is one of my favourite things of CM14, I no longer have to press my ear toward the speaker.
The reason for this is I think because TheStrix added back the MIUI LP edits to the kernel, so it's similar to MIUI kernel now. He mentioned this in the CM13 thread.
So yep, I'm pretty sure it's normal, and hey, enjoy it!!

Thanks for clarifying.Actually in Xiaomi forum is guy mentioned his phones spekers got bust due to this - that's why i was curious .No disrespect to hard working devs of course

Here, I was talking about this quote.
TheStrix said:
I have already moved on to cm-14.0 dev. You can follow it on CM gerrit: here
Also I have rebased kernel to N CAF tag and added back Xiaomi edits from LP release. (Camera, battery drivers are 100% from Xiaomi kernel release with no edits regarding adding/removing any new support)
Keep calm and wait for it
Also, wanted to know ov16880_f16v01a and ov16880_omida05 camera sensors are present on some devices too? Anyone with them here?
On CM, I just now added s5k5e8_z5e8yab thought it was the only one missing. If those two exist too on fewer RN3, let me know so that I can add support for those 2 sensors in CM.

Yes I'm around 90% sure it was.
I messaged OP and he refused to update it as he wants to focus on LOS14.
It's alright because they're doing this for free and have their own lives too.
Is some other dev or anyone who has fast net and pc up for building weekly builds?
I would have done that myself but downloading sources on my net will take years.
I'm sticking to LOS 13 just for sake of *xposed* like many guys out there.
It would be really nice if someone steps up for this job
Thanks.

I'm just wondering if we are likely to see a flood of Oreo based roms as we did with Nougat, or are Devs moving to Mido? I ask because i see that development of Oreo roms aren't much compared to Mido.
