The new security update ZVG killed the Facebook app and web connection to several other websites I can't get logged into. When typing a web address into Chrome, it says no connection. Anyone else having the same issue? I checked my WiFi and it is working at excellent strength.
I can't specifically say the Sprint Connections Optimizer is the culprit but, after I reset my phone SCO updated twice and after the second time, I lost internet connection with data and wifi on at the same time. SCO isn't handing off internet connection correctly after the ZVG security update. I also went into my apps and the Optimize and Protect app, I tapped Data Optimizer and disabled it. Since then, all is working.
Does anyone know of a functioning root for ZVG?

This worked for me on ZVG:

Here are a few tips I posted in another thread:

This is most bizzare. My internet on wifi was working fine until last night, but it is not working any longer. Works fine on 3G though. On wifi I am able to see connected devices on the local network and play files off my HTPC but internet browsing, google play store or anything that uses internet has stopped working and times out. All other wifi devices in my home are fine. I have reset the wifi router as well, nothing. Tried to disable and enable wifi on the phone and restarted a few times as well. Cant really put my finger on it.
Any ideas?
I updated to the SG .73 build about 3 days ago. I noticed batter battery life, no where near what I was used to on my GS2 though.
Anyhooo, any ideas guys, I am concerned.

That's unlikely to be your device. Probably the router or something.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
I have also messed around with the wifi sleep policy. No issues there. Power saving is also disabled.
Could it be anything else? An app maybe? I will remove the most recent ones and report back. Badass battery monitor was the last one I installed.

Hi, along with that also try to connect to some other router and let us know if the problem persist.
The wifi connection remains active but no internet. Just thought I would add. I will connect to another wifi hotspot. My wife's GS2 tethering and report back.
I assume that you got "limited connectivity" problem.
If my assumption is true then you should try checking in your Wifi router setting, set encryption method to AES. The problem was addressed when I tried doing this and in addition, changed my Wifi channel from auto to a specific channel.
Right, not sure how this all started but like many others my internet connection (More specifically over wifi) just randomly stopped. After a fair bit of reading on both these forums and Sony's own forum, I downloaded and installed an app called WeFi Pro. Somehow this seemed to fix everything and now have a working wifi internet connection again.
Will do some more reading into this but as a fix i'd recommend installing this app. Oh BTW its free so its a win all round!!
Haven't been able to see or change themes or log in or out since yesterday. Is the themer server having problems again or is just me?
had a couple of issues here very similar thought it was me,keep getting the loading sign here

Try switching to mobile data/restarting your phone/reinstalling Themer. One of these should work

Okay, well that seems to be it, switching to Mobile Data. But why? It's always worked before over wifi and nothing has changed in my Internet status or on my phone. Same internet, same cable modem, same router, same ROM with the same settings. And I've rebooted modem, router, and phone. What can I look for that could be blocking Themer beta from working on my phone (GNII) over wifi that has changed since 2 days ago?
Edit: Unless Google is hiding some kind of firewall tweak inside a recent Search or YouTube update, I'm stumped!
Edit 2: All other Internet services on the phone including T-Mobile wifi calling are working normally.
The issue to me is themer same thing data works fine wifi a pain in arse,as you say this has only been an issue over the last couple of days. Also now running very sluggish, everything else again is running fine over wifi just themer having issue
Problem solved, sort of: I've isolated the issue to my own Charter cable connection. It works fine on mobile or wifi data connection outside of my own location. In my Motorola cable box, if I go to the firewall settings, and change the firewall protection to "none," Themer works. But if I change it to "Low," it doesn't, even though I've always had it on "low." Guessing they pushed out an update or changed something on the backend.
Can anyone tell me what port (if not port 80) that Themer uses on the phone to connect to themer servers?
Now that my G3 has been upgraded to Lollipop, I thought my issues would be resolved. The biggest problem I'm noticing now is how long everything takes to render on my phone. Facebook, Instagram, and GMail all take forever to render and I'm stuck with a spinning wheel while it loads the content. At first I thought it was my internet and I've tried the usual (resetting, unplugging, etc...) to no avail. I even called the cable company and they said my connection was fine. This past weekend I bought a cheap-o tablet off craigslist and can't help but notice how quickly content shows up. I mean, I instantly have GMail notifications while my G3 says I have none without a manual refresh. Facebook and Instagram, both, show me content instantly while my G3 is still sputtering.
What makes it more odd is that I don't have this problem when I'm on mobile data or someone else's wifi. Just my own. Is there a setting or something somewhere that I've overlooked?

How do you do that? I don't see anything in the wifi settings remotely resembling ipv6.

I use this: disable ipv6
The problem is that you would need to disable the ipv6 each time you connect to wifi, I'm pretty sure there are tutorials with how to get scripted set up to automatically turn ipv6 off when you connect to wifi, but I'm not sure where those would be and I'm not positive what you would search for to find that tutorial.
Anyway, hope I could be of help!

I did some googling after your initial comment about ipv6 and found on a Verizon forum the link to an app called DNSet. It seems to have worked for me. Hopefully this link will help others:

So guys,
I don't know if everyone knows "fon", but it is a global wifi conection.
It has a public wifi network and we have to login to it by browser.
The problem is that on the Oneplus X the login screen doesn't even appear. If i try automatic login by the app i lose the wifi connection.
Anyone has the same problem?
Any thoughts?
Cheers
I've tried wifi connections via Starbucks and Transit (MTA Wifi) as well as my school wifi and they all require opening a browser to login, They worked fine for me. But I can't seem to detect my Gym's wifi, idk if it's my phone thats not detecting it or that the wifi isn't even there since I didn't have a buddy to confirm whether or not it was available. But the other scenarios worked fine.

nope, dont have xposed installed.
I have a similar issue.
My previous device was a Nexus 4, and I used to get a notification that prompted for a login when ever it connected to public wi-fi (was the wi-fi icon with an exclamation mark next to it). Didn't need to open a browser.
No it may be that was a stock Android feature, but it worked really well.
On my OPx I have to open a browser and type a url before it will redirect to me to any wi-fi login page. It doesn't work if I refresh an existing browser page - I just get a message saying it can't connect. During all of this however, the wi-fi icon shows the 'connected' state. It's the one thing that really annoys me about this device, but very few people seem to mention it.
Yes. I think it's strange. Maybe we are the only one that use public Wi-Fi?
I've got same problem. Very annoying. Considering that free hotspot in our town has such login (actually just form with single button to connect), SSID same all over town and it automatically connect as soon it see such network and losing sync/connection to all background applications like messengers.
I'm currently battling with OnePlus Support about this issue, they somehow not fully understand issue :crying:
Well, maybe they don't have hot-spots in China or something... But we don't see so many people saying that they have this problem.
That's why oneplus don't care about it also
Hi, i have the same problem with autentication web page. The phone connect to network but the autentication page don't work.
Yes that is the problem i was talking about!
But i don't care now, thanks to MasterAwesome.
Goodbye oxygen for ever!
I'm having a strange issue and wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.. I can access most of the internet (web sites, podcast download, etc), over WiFi and cell data but some things like my imap email seem to get "stuck" (eg, my email client says "socket timeout"). I've learned that if I switch networks, from WiFi to cell or vice verse, the connectivity seems to start working again, but eventually hangs up again. This is happening on both a OnePlus One running Android 2.x and an Asus tablet running 4.4. They both seemed to present this issue around the same time, but a few things changed around the same time that I remember;
1 I installed the WeChat app
2 The WiFi router I connect to most often changed
I uninstalled WeChat but the problem persists.
I want to blame the WeChat app as installing something surreptitious to spy on my network traffic.
Is there any way to see why my network connection is getting "stuck"? Or do I just need to do a factory reset? I'd just hate to go through all the effort of a factory reset just to find I have the same issue.
