Any rom with no network drop issues.? - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any rom with no network drop issues.?

The network drops are not consistent. Some people experience them some do not. You can choose any rom and just clean flash it a couple of times until you no longer experience network drops. Also a kernel like Arsenic would help. Personally using RR 7.1.1 with no practically zero network issues.

M also using rr but finding difficult for the networks to stay connected.

Clean flash it a couple of times, I had to do it thrice before getting it correct!

Sorry to necro, but this actually works? Clean flash multiple times and the random network drop bug that plagues every single oneplus x rom except oxygen will be magically fixed?

I tried flashing multiple time different rom (stock included). Nothing stopped the connection drops. I will try flashing different kernel and see if that makes any different. I hope to solve the issue this way. If anyone has any replicable working solution it would be very appreciated.

I'm using LineageOS from 20171026 and don't experience any bugs or battery drain, except for rare Tristate-Bugs.
I recommend it, but as said; it isn't the same for everyone.

[Q] SGSII Internet connection problem

Hey XDA
I've a problem with my SGSII.
I've tried a lot different roms like CM7, CheckRom, Oxygen, miui to find the perfect rom to fix my battery usage(my phone usally last for MAX 1 day, even on low usage. (Is this normal??, my friend get like 5 days with his SGSII)
Anyway, on pretty much all of the ROMs above I've occurred a problem with my internet connection - When my phone is idle for a while I looser internet connection and then I have to restart my phone to fix it.
Anyone with similar problem?
Is my phone defect?
Any way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
This is my first thread on XDA, I hope I did it correctly (I've checked out suggested threads btw)
the problem with the internet connection is because of the signal is not resetting itself. You can use signalreset (market) app as a solution otherwise flash a stock firmware ROM from sammobile and see whether the problem is solved!
My Wi Fi stops working the same way too. All I do is that I reconnect WiFi from the notification bar.

Thank you for such a great and fast answer!
I will check out Signalreset asap, however if it just en/disable flightmode I am not sure if it helps. Because when it happened I always try en/disable flightmode, without luck - I have to restart to make it work :-/
Soo... it's a generel failure in some deeper laying hard- or software, that's not dependent of the generel software-version.
I'm starting to hate my phone, as it is loosing connection again and again, but only after updating to KI8_NEE. There has not been ANY problems with KI3_NEE, which worked perfectly and rocksolid - and solved the same problem from the previous versions... KI8 may be smoother, but i prefer stability over this generel failure (there's a lot of generel faults, not just lost data-connection).
If that the case, i'm going to smash this phone, or put KI3 back on it... i have been so happy with it, but after upgrading to KI8 - i'm starting to develop a hate-relationship with it...
My old HTC might be slow - but it is dead-on stable...
After trying the signalreset it still doenst work properly.
Any suggestions?

I'm on XWKI1 on AT&T in south Florida and my connection is rock solid now.
That was not the case when I first got the phone with the factory ROM and baseband.

No I dont, I've tried Juice Defender but it didnt help my battery life so I uninstalled it..
I've tried a few days with the stock unrooted and the problem didnt occur, however the internet was still extremely slow, even when I had full signal.
Is there an application to boost signal/speed and/or fix problems?

[Q] Neutrino Wifi issue

Hi Guys,
i come from the Moto Stock Rom and have flashed Neutrino 2.6EE few days ago.
Now i've got a little issue with the Wifi Connection.
When I unlock the phone and a known wifi (home and work) is in reach, it takes about one minute until the connection is established.
With the stock rom ist takes only a couple of seconds.
When i go into the wifi settings while waiting, the connection will be established immediately.
Does anyone know a solution?
European Atrix
Wifi-Standby: off when display is off
Rom: Neutrino 2.6EE
Baseband: N_01.100.00R
I also have this issue with every CM7 ROM. I believe it is a bug present in all CM7 based ROM. Flashing a new radio or reflashing your old one may fix this issue, but I haven't tried it because I cannot find a working link to the N_01.77.30p radio for a backup in case of failure in the flashing of a more recent one. If anyone could provide a CWM flashable N_01.77.30p radio I could begin testing to fix this problem.

Me too, I used to experience the same problem with older versions of the Neutrino ROM but this new version is working flawlessly. Only one thing, when the screen is off for about 15-20minutes the wifi connection is lost so I keep a wifi settings icon handy on the desktop, but I noticed this issue on the CM7 roms too so it should be a bug there. On CM9 roms the wifi stays on during the whole time maybe try a cm9 rom?
Some reason when I click the download link nothing happens, if you could directly link the file that would be great.
Sent from the Land of Multiple Cores.
This has been discussed many times.
This is either a hardware fault or a CM7 bug. Therefore, I cannot fix it as Neutrino builds are based on CM7, and obviously, if it is a hardware issue, then there's nothing I can do at all.
For now, just pray that CM7 magically fixes it.
I am sorry, I mean no offense to your development, and since my previous post is incorrect or misinformed I am very sorry, and I will change my previous post to reflect this new information. Neutrino is an awesome ROM by the way.
Sent from the Land of Multiple Cores.
I will try a CM9 ROM to see if that fixes the issue. But I will not be able to flash for awhile since I am on a business trip. If someone else could try it out and report findings that would be great.
Sent from the Land of Multiple Cores.
I'm on Jokerz version 0.3ish and turning on wifi gives me an error report followed by random reboots. The problem did not originate with this ROM and I've flashed a handful of different ROMs with no fix.
I got smoked by Windows just for the free phone so I can sell it.

So we have all this hardware problem?
Because I have the same issue with my Stock Rom 2.3.4.
What is your advice?Bring it to Motorola Support or wait in this "magical fix"?
This is most likely a hardware issue.

With the original rom version (45.31.1.MB860.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU) that was on my phone, the Wifi connection was established much faster.
The second thing is, when I went into the wifi settings while waiting, the connection will be established immediately. It turns from searching to getting ip and then connected.
So I can't believe that this is a hardware problem. I think the phone is waiting for something before the connection will be made or so.
I've serarched a bit an found that:
Notorious544d said:
When your device is connected to Wi-Fi, then it will consume less battery as it needs less 'juice' to receive data from a Wi-Fi network than a cellular network.
However, if you are on 3G, but have Wi-Fi enabled, then your phone will consume more battery than with Wi-Fi disabled as the phone frequently scans for Wi-Fi networks. The scan time is configurable and stock ROM and CM7 scan every 30 seconds, whereas Neutrino ROM scans every 2 minutes. This means that Neutrino will have slightly better battery with Wi-Fi always enabled as it scans 4x less than normal.
To configure the scan time, you'll have to edit the build.prop.

I measured it again, how much time passes before the connection is available.
It takes about 2 minutes and 5 seconds, until the connection is there.
I think it is related to the scan-intervall.
Can you change the setting, that the phone will scan for wifi when it will be unlocked?

Wifi issues after updating to 4.4.4

I updated my C6833 via the Sony Update Service tool to 4.4.4 and have noticed since the update that my wifi drops in and out and it seems to show that it is running on my mobile data network for a brief second whilst wifi is connected. I don't remember this happening in the past.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
can you try something for me, please?
install a terminal emulator, like juice SSH. run it and connect to 'localhost'.
go very near your router and do
ping your router's IP
let it run for a while, see the response times. are they consistent or do they fluctuate?
stop it by pressing ctrl+c
exit by either closing the window or pressing ctrl+d if your keyboard has it (like hacker's keyboard)
WiFi was really bad this morning. Connecting, disconnecting and reconnecting every 1-2 seconds. So I tried switching to the 2.4ghz channel of my router from the 5ghz and it seems to be stable now. Not sure if my router or phone is the issue.
No issues for me. Using C6833 ftf on C6802

did you ever tryed a custom rom that required to unlock the bootloader? Often had that which a 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 nightly build from CyagenMod after updating.
solution for me: restore TA-Keys and use the repair option in the Update Centre.
stock rom, never rooted, never unlocked bootloader.

Have you tried factory reset? Since no one is able to help, I'm guessing that's the logical step.
Yes, I am on Stock ROM, did a reset and still the same thing.
The device connects and disconnects over and over till the phone gets hot, and drains the battery
i guess we have to accept that this is just bad engineering, either software or hardware.
Next phone is not going to be android... already my zu is slowly dying, usb port doesn't connect very well, i have to keep the cable very straight (have tried at least ten cables, it's not a problem with the cable) to have a good connection... and i am sick of firefox losing pages and redownloading them costing me time and money.

Yes, "always scanning" is off.

Yes. I ran pure cm13. It was awesome both with stock and Blu spark kernel. And I have an absolute zero tolerance for lag.
Not to forget the battery drops on wifi... I was frustrated by the battery drops and switched back to stock and blu spark kernel.

I too have this problem. I have tried CM13, Temasek's CM13, RR, Purity and all of them began after few days with micro lag and stuttering. Although what is strange to me when is when I was testing scrolling (for example news feed in facebook app) the performance was perfect, without any issue. Maybe we do something wrong with flashing or something... (I usually wipe everything, even internal storage...)
Hope someone will find a solution

Problem with network signal on Sim 1 or Sim 2

I use a X829 4/64 GB and i recently noticed that i DO NOT HAVE ANY MOBILE NETWORK SIGNAL on Sim 1 (no data no calls). The truth is that during the last time i stopped using my le max 2 as my daily phone, so although i flashed many different " eui" roms i did not tried to insert my sim cards in the phone and try make any calls as i had no problem in the past. Yesterday i flashed AICP - Oreo - X2 (very good by the way) and this time i have the same problem with Sim 2. Some members have created similar threads in the past but i did not found any solution. I really wonder if someone here has any idea or any solution

I did not went back to stock. I flashed the zip when i was on latest Cuoco92 23s rom (coming from Oreo, as i was trying to find a solution) and then i flashed Oreo again. In both cases i had both sim cards wotking with a better (as i belieeve) network signal than the previous months i used my phone
I had the same problem with my network and the newest cuoco92 rom, but flashing the zip-file of andr68rus seems to have solved the problem! At least at the moment, the networks works again und I also have the feeling, the strength of the connection is much better than ever before!
Update:
The flash somehow only worked shortly. After a day or so, I had the same problem again. No network at all ( (neither data nor for phone calls), although the phone shows good network connetction! Strange.

Considering that the network signal is better either at my home and at my work i believe that the zip from andr68rus made the "miracle". When you switch data from the one sim to the other it is normal to loose the signal for a while . It happens with every phone but normally the signal "comes" back again in a few seconds. I don't know if the zip will work for your problem but why don't you ask andr68rus "directly"?
So it's normal?
Yup that exact scenario. So if it's normal then I think it's ok.
I have already flashed this zip and now my data works better then ever. I have sent him pm but he didn't reply. Now you already cleared things up for me. Thanks for your response.
Can someone tell me does both sim slots supports LTE or not?
I am wondering if it might be possible, that this data connection issue is related to the battery status of the phone?
At least, with a fully charged battery fresh from the charger (for example in the morning), I typically always have good connection. The same when loading during the day. But then, and after a while without charging I loose connection or it gets more unstable at least.
Did somebody observe something similar?

It "sounds" strange. Personally i never had similar problems nad i think that this is not a common problem
I found that on a German website, the same problem that I observed concerning the network connection and the battery was also reported. For everybody able to read German, you find it here:
https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/leeco-le-max-2-x820-x821-x822.2715/lte-bricht-zusammen-keine-verbindung-bei-akku-unter-60-mit-netzteil-ok.860971.html
They report that the network works very stable as long as the battery voltage is above 4 V. Once it is lower, the phone loses connection. If this is generally true, then this might be the problem in my case. With the phone coming from the charger, the voltage is about 4.3 V, but relatively quickly if falls below 4 V.
Is this purely a battery problem? Or could maybe some software modifications somehow help?

As mentioned in another thread, I have been experiencing the same problem when the battery level goes down to 70% or less (~4volt) the mobile network indicator still shows good signal but both voice and data stop working ie. cannot make or receive phone calls and no internet connectivity. But as soon as I plug in the charger, everything works perfectly.
