Hi I bought my phone as is(^) but I figured it could be brought back to life.
it was stock rom & had s-off, I unlocked the bootloader & rooted. tried giving it factory reset, clear cache reinstalled stock etc,
now I tried putting a custom rom on it hoping to get passed the htc screen no luck
It reboots every 60sec only way to shut it down is through bootloader, I have a custom recovery as well
Has anyone had any similar issues?? - thanks in Advance

Something similar happened to me today as well. Device just froze and I had to do a hard rest. Same problem. Performed a Factory Reset. Same problem. Left it on the HTC One Screen for two hours, still frozen.
Not having the rebooting issue though.
Try running a ruu

Same issue here. Ran an updated RUU which took me to 4.3 and it updated my hboot to 1.55 from 1.44. I can load stock and custom recoveries through fastboot but I cannot boot into recovery. I am **tampered** **unlocked s-on** and cant even relock to run ruu again. Any ideas? Here is a copy of my fastboot getvar all:

Hi, I am experiencing the same issue. Is there any fix? I've deleted my entire internal memory like a dumb ass. I can still access TWRP and bootloader. S-OFF and unlocked. I've tried installing multiple roms: trickdroid, google stock, qx senseless. But they all just reboot after 60 seconds. Can't find my RUU, CID = Roger001. Any help will be appreciated
okay,
I've unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, it's s-on and installed cm11. After less than a day, I've decided to go back to stock. Unfortunately, because cm11 is kitkat 4.4 it seems I can't even use an ruu, as they'll only go to 4.3 (which it seems i can't use because with s-on, I can't downgrade firmwares).
I've used Twrp 2.6.3.3 for recovery.
i've tried to use moonshine and rum runner, but they both fail, presumably because i've got cm11 installed. Also, when I connect to the pc, it only comes up as a media player or camera (depending on the settings in cyanogenmod), I've got debugging on and i believe everything else I should have.
In device manager, it calls itself "My HTC", yet in utorrent "HTC Aria"
When running (in cmd) "adb devices" it shows my phone, but when I do "fastboot devices" nothing comes up.
i've tried installing htc drivers, but nothing seems to change it. Some have mentioned forcing drivers but I don't know where to get the specific htc one driver.
in the bootloader this is what comes up:
hboot 1.44
m7ul pvt ship s-on rh
radio 4A.12.3750.20
open dsp v31.120.274.0617
eMMC-boot
what are my next steps/options?

this is the last AT&T RUU it will update you to android 4.3 >>
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...3_10-38j-1157-04_release_334235_signed_2-exe/
if that link is slow you can get it directly from HTC here >>
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-att/news/
you'll have to relock your bootloader
fastboot oem lock
then run the RUU with your phone sitting at the fastboot usb screen
Worked beautifully. Thank You.
there's only two niggling things. when you pull down for your notifications, in the top right used to be settings, now it's quick tiles like cm11.
Also, in my computer, the device shows up as portable media player, where it used to just show up as htc one and an icon that looked like it. (from quick reading, it seems this is normal.)
Thanks again for all your help

I know now, a rough search turned up the same....
One last question,
I'm sticking with stock, but i want to root it, everything i've done has been unsuccessful, where before first time and it was done, I was reading the guide over here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273376&page=2 , and it mentions that I can't root a stock rom? that means I would need to grab one of the rooted ones then, correct? I know I've seen a link to them around here, but can't seem to find it, let alone which one I should use.

after running the RUU your starting from scratch
1.unlock bootloader at HTCDEV.com
2. Flash custom recovery I recommend TWRP 2.6.3.3
How to flash?
1) Download your recovery
2) Put it on your adb/fastboot folder
3) Rename it to recovery.img
4) Open a CMD/Teminal windows on adb folder
5) Put your phone in fastboot
6) Flash the recovery with the command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

THANKS.
Hello all, I've been using these forums for information frequently, but this is the first time I've run into trouble. I updated my AT&T HTC One to the GPE, but decided I wanted to go back to stock with the impending HTC Sense 5.5 update around the corner. I had gotten GPE via rumrunner and the methods at htc-one.wonderhowto.com (I can't post the direct link).
I had then reverted back to a rooted stock ROM, but it would not perform OTA updates. So, my next step was to get S-ON and re-lock the device. I accomplished those, but somehow I now have no OS - I can get into recovery (stock), but cannot perform anything from there. Factory resets and wipes do nothing for me. I have access to fastboot, and have attempted running various RUUs but all of them give me error code 155, which appears to be due to the wrong version. However, I have tried all of the AT&T US RUUs I can find, so I'm sort of at a loss there.
I thought maybe I could get unlocked again so that I could load TWRP again, but running the HTCDev unlocktoken command does nothing, other than tell me it was successful - it stays on the fastboot screen instead of showing the option to choose Yes/No to unlock.
So, after hours of attempts, I'm sort of stuck. Could anyone help point me in the right direction? By the way, my device reads TAMPERED and RELOCKED in the bootloader, and S-ON. Below is the output of my getvar all:

Yes, I tried all of the Cingular ones on that page, to no avail. They all fail with the 155 error code.

Okay, seems like I've followed all of those steps. I ran fastboot oem lock, but each time I try the RUU I get the 155 message. I had just installed the latest HTC drivers last week, as that was when I went to the GPE. I'm using the same USB port that I had been using then, so no differences there.
Thank you for your responses - if you need any more information I'll be glad to give it.

Okay, so one thing that I have noticed - my main versions seems to be X.XX.1540.X, which as best I can tell is the US Dev Edition. However, my CID is CWS_001, which should have X.XX.502.X as the main version. Unfortunately, I think the conflict here is causing my RUUs to fail. Any suggestions?
So, after a long night and morning of fighting with this, I've concluded that I'm completely hosed. Here is how I stand at this time:
My CID is correct, CWS__001, which matches my carrier (AT&T)
My OS version, however, is 4.06.1540.2. This marks it as being a developer edition.
There does not exist an RUU for the OS I have currently. Also, if one did exist, I'm not certain that it would work, as that would require my CID to be different (not sure on that last bit)
All AT&T RUUs fail - this is due to low main version.
I do not have access to Android at all, only bootloader and fastboot.
I am S-ON
I am RELOCKED/TAMPERED
Because of these, I cannot flash a custom recovery to be able to load a new system of ANY version.
Because I can only access bootloader, I cannot achieve S-OFF.
And the final nail, HTC Dev unlock feature does not work. It says it is successful, but the splash screen is never displayed, and I receive the message that the splash screen could not load on my next fastboot command (no matter what command it is)
So, from this criteria, I think I'm stuck with an expensive piece of dead technology. I'm posting all of this information in hopes that someone else may get stuck in the same manner and have a miracle cure.

I've tried - how would I go about restoring the stock rom/recovery? Just flash the individual images from that zip? Also, would I need to do the X.XX.502.X version (my carrier), or the X.XX.1540.X version (the currently loaded firmware)?
EDIT: No dice. I tried both, but continue to receive the message that the signature verify is failing.

I think your issue may be that you went back to S-on before going to stock and now firmware is wrong. I would follow the article to regain s-off then you can likely move ahead. There are also several articles saying going to s-on after being s-off can cause issues.

The problem is that I cannot access my phone's storage to push revone, or to use rumrunner. I cannot unlock the device because unlocktoken does not work - it applies the token, but nothing happens.
I wonder - can I flash the splash screen that it is missing? I think it's due to me missing the piece where it asks me to confirm I want to unlock the phone.

I am stuck, I can't see to get my phone to boot. You would think that I would be able to do something to fix this if I can get into recovery and bootload, but I can't get a proper system boot. I am hoping that buying a new phone isn't my only option at this point. If anyone can help me I am willing to pay if you can help me get a working phone again.

You should edit your IMEI number out of your getvar
What exactly happened when you flashed the firmware ,any specific message that came across that you can remember
According to the getvar it looks like you flashed the GPE lollipop firmware/ruu without
S-OFF.

That is what I have been told although I didn't realize that it was GPE and I don't really understand why it let me get my phone in an usable/unrecoverable state if I had s-on. I thought that was a safety net, but the more I read I wish it was s-off. I think it would be fixable then, but in the current state I don't know how to get s-off. I did the firmware command twice and it seemed to work after the second attempt as the article noted that it would. I have never flashed a rom, before so other than reading the article and attempting to follow along didn't really know what to expect. The article had me do a fastboot oem lock and then a fastboot oem ruu as I recall. then it was something like fastboot flash zip .....zip. The problem is the roms that I have attempted to install now don't seem to install maybe if I could find the right one it would install and work good enough to allow me to become s-off and get back to more of a working state. I should of done a lot more reading before attempting this... I made some invalid assumptions about being able to recover which is my fault. I would think something is possible in this state.
I think part of the problem is that I am s-on and my main ver is higher than the RUU for my carrier version and my cid. I think I could edit those if I was s-off or do something, but I can't do that since I am s-on.

I have tried that RUU and it fails, I think because its main version number is lower than mine now... Which I also didn't realize was a limitation. I think the lesson here is to never flash firmware that isn't directly from the htc site although its suppose to be signed, that's a little confusing to me.
I to thought S-ON was supposed to be a safety net
What Roms have you tried sense then
If you hold power+up your phone hard restarts. then quickly hold power+down. then go to recovery. If have TWRP and this way you accessed it. you got some chance. go to https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=m8 and download latest nightly and see if you can flash it. That worked for me. Until I find a signed firmware/radio that is version 4.+ I am stuck with cm12.
So I managed to break the screen on my OnePlus One so i had to go back to my HOX+ and since i had let a friend borrow it and use while they got their own phone i went to wipe and install a new ROM on it. it was already rooted and unlocked with CM11 running.
i'm not a noob when it comes to android root and stuff but i messed up. i had everything ready, a few different roms i wanted to try out, gapps and superSU all downloaded on my computer and transferred to my phone. i went and did a clean wipe in TWRP 2.8.7.0, installed MIUI7, gapps, and su. it booted fine but i had used the AROMA insaller for gapps and apparently didn't have a keyboard.
so back to recovery i go and for some reason i decided to wipe the phone again instead of doing a dirty reflash and i accidentally checked the mark to wipe the sd storage as well and didnt catch it in time.
now normally you'd just say "dont panic, just go to adb sideload and install through there" np, right?
well it's not that simple for me. every time i try to go through adb sideload i just get an error and i cant figure out why. i've tried different TWRP versions with all the same result, ive even tried Phillz recovery and trying to mount usb storage in that just does nothing.
next step would be to try re doing the phone with a RUU right? well i tried that too and i get error code 158 every time (yes, i remembered to relock the bootloader) i'm gonna be trying the different international RUU's to see if anything will work but i doubt it at this point.
i even tried searching for something to flash from fastboot to hopefully get the device to at least boot so i can transfer things to it so i can get a proper ROM, but nothing.
So, please help me, this is frustrating me to hell and back and i just want this thing to work.
here's the stuff from boot loader in case it helps

So after giving up on this once and revisiting it i finally figured it out, all thanks to this youtube video /watch?v=H-vf5eHV3_s (im too noob on the forums to post links apparently)
if anyone else has this problem in the future here's the steps i took
install the stock recovery
go into bootloader and hit factory reset
wait and reboot into fastboot
flash twrp or another recovery
enter recovery
and bam, all usb transfers working again
