Urgent Help Needed SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 SM-G925X - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I wonder if any of you is able to help me please, I promise a kind donation in case the device works again.
So here's my story I bought a 2nd hand Galaxy s6 device from a store, it worked for about 9 months then it got blocked, I returned it to the store and after lots of arguing he decided to exchange the blocked device for a similar one if I repair the screen I broke, so I paid him another £180.00 to fix both the screen and back cover.
The wanker gave me a phone which looked fresh, I put my sim inside and it worked without any issues whatsoever... for about 30 mins then the sim card was not recognised anymore !! changed sim cards and nothing happened, when I returned back to the shop the IMEI number on the receipt was not matching the IMEI number in the phone, so the prick said that I am lying to him and that this device is not the one he sold to me, without any proof of it, I am now totally screwed.
After putting the device into download mode it shows the model name as: SM-G925X
The MF gave me a LDU, but whats driving me nuts is that it worked for about 30 mins, I made calls from this LDU for less than 30 mins before it stopped reading the sim card !
Now I took it to another store, where the guy completely f it up and got it bricked and now stuck at the samsung logo.
**If anyone could help me to get this device to work again I will be so grateful to you and promise and kind donation.

I am genuinely sorry about the bad language, its just out of frustration. And thank you very much in advance.
I am no longer able to get into recovery mode, I tried flashing various firmwares by removing all the .bin files yet the device is still stuck in boot loop.
I also cant locate the S/N to use the emergency recovery function in Smart switch, last time the device was on the imei number and S/N it had, showed up as a completely different samsung device !

The person just gave you a temp efs (IMEI no) which got expired and device lost signal with the provider nevermind and where do you live please tell me(country)

I live in Scotland, UK. What's really confusing me is that it's a LDU, and I read multiple times that LDU are not full mobile phone devices they are missing an antenna or something like that. You really do sound like you know what you're talking about, thank you very much for helping me.

Do you have the tools to get inside the phone? To see if the phone has antenna?
Or dial *#0*#
On the menu press receiver.... does it make a sound?

Thanks for your quick reply Calum, no unfortunately am not able to get inside the phone, but I am certain that it does have an antenna because I made calls from it ! it seems like the phone has been bricked, because am still stuck in the bootloop and not able to start it up at all

Have a go at flashing this firmware via odin. Rumour has it that you can flash unbranded G925F firmware onto an LDU. The worse that can happen is odin will fail.
If you need instructions on how quote me and I will get the notification
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/106963/G925FXXS4DPJ2_G925FBTU4DPH1_BTU/

Thanks mate, I have tried that in the past and it worked through odin but the phone is still stuck at the Samsung logo, I will give it a go one more time though and see what happens

Flash the firmware mate but uncheck auto reboot in odin. Once successful flash boot to recovery and wipe data and cache then reboot. Give that a try

[Q] Will not boot - flashing black screen

Received a brand new Ace yesterday, and immediately rooted it with super one click with no problems.
However I then tried to run the 'Galaxy Ace Unlock apk' which I'd found elsewhere.
It generated an unlock pin, but after rebooting it stuck on the Galaxy Ace flash screen. After 5 minutes I pulled the battery out, waited, then rebooted. Now it doesn't even get to the Galaxy Ace screen when switched on.
The screen backlight comes on (with a black screen) for a couple of seconds, then off, then on - but it never gets any further.
So far I've tried
- Flashing Stock Froyo via Odin
- Flashing VillainRom via Odin
In both cases the phone enters download mode, Odin completes all steps without error, but on reboot I am left with the black screen of death again!
Anything else I could try?
I have the same problem.
Have you found a solution?

Dose you RESET FACTORY SETTINGS and FORMAT CACHE in recovery, before flashing with ODIN?

Did the light lit when you entered the download mode? That's the indicator.
I got the same proble, tried several firmwares with odin but, when the phone reboots it starts flashing again

Just send it to the service center.
No other recovery method is know.
I have been in every forum arond for this kinda brick and there is no solution for YOU to do. Also there is absolutely no way for Samsung to see either say that after the first boot the battery went dead and it never started again. It will be covered by your warranty and brand new ace! Now dont go making stupid mistakes again hope i helped

Apk/sim bricked my phone.
Unlock Apk also bricked my phone in the same manner.
The app generating the code is not the problem on it's own, it's when you put the "other" Sim card in and reboot that does the damage.
I got a buzz when i could still get Download Mode and Odin gave me a PASS when i reflashed, but alas the phone never rebooted and it still flashed black at me.
I'm trying everything to bring it back to life before it goes to the Service Centre and i have to give them some blag as to why it's bricked.
Other than Download Mode i can get "Emergency Dload Mode"(ARM9) & RAMDUMP.

Even Samsung don't have an easy way to repair it, hence they replace the mainboard to fix the issue.

[Q] Bricked S5830, please help me

Hi all,
I have looked for a similar post, I found out that many people experienced something like that trying unlocking their phones, but I haven't found out any solution.
Here is my situation:
I have tried to unlock my s5830 (orange spain carrier), I have used a method which it seems to be dangerous for the phone, but of course I have found out it was dangerous after I have already tried it
Anyway after I discovered the unlock number contained in the perso.txt file in the efs folder, my phone restarted without service once and after that it went in a bootloop mode, it goes on a download mode, but there is no way to get back recovery mode or a normal boot.
I flashed the s5830 several times with many firmware, but no one worked, and the phone is still stuck in an infinite loop, in which I am not even able to see the samsung logo coming out at the very beginning.
I know many phones got bricked in this way, I wanted to know if anybody has been able to recover the phone or if anybody know any possible solution.
And if not, do you know if the warranty is covering this problem? I just got the phone a couple months ago; i have unlocked other devices before, but this is the first time I have experienced a problem so I am quite new about warranty as well. Please HELP ME
Merry Christmas guys!!!
Thanks in advance

with the cellphone off, put out ur baterry for a minute, then maintain ur finger into the volume down button and the power button tell a friend or if u can alone insert the batery while quickly pressing volume down and power button to get into download mode, and flash.
Hehehe, bootloop is horrible, you just have to get in download mode & flash with 2.3.4 firmware with Odin, just that steps and you save your SGA.
I got bootloop many times and Odin saved me.

he cant go back in recovery mod............
If you can go to recovery mode than you can just wipe the data and cache. This saved me many times. Otherwise on what ever OS you may be , just create new user name after removing samsung android drivers. Login from new user name and than re install drivers again and now flash your phone from firmware which was installed on your phone before you bricked it. This helped me a few times.

It seems that you've already received a lot of help for unbricking your device. So I'll try to help out in unlocking your phone after you finished unbricking it.
This is the method I personally used on my locked Ace:

It's perfectly safe. 100%.

thank you very much I will follow your advice...IF I will be able to get my phone back which seems impossible =(
@dr_vishal
Thank you first of all, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the android device driver, but it doesn't seems to be the problem, Odin ends with a "PASS" at the end, I guess there still is comunication in the between the two devices...
Hopefully it will be a Merry Christmas =)
It's not impossible. I'm relatively new here but I have noticed quite a few "bricked" threads already. Most of them (if not all) have been able to fix their device. I haven't seen a single person permanently brick their device, so I would guess that your chances of fixing it are really high. Just be patient and keep describing your situation and more experienced help will certainly arrive. I'd really like to help out but I have no idea how to fix it as I have not experienced bricking my phone yet.
Anyway, if the method for unlocking I suggested works for you kindly press the Thanks Button. Merry Christmas!

maybe to get the warranty still valid I should broke totally the phone over charging it....??

just a thought
a lot of people have talked about reflashing it and all but have you managed to get into the recovery mode at all once you have reinstalled the rom with odin? if you can get to that you just need to hit factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik and normaly after that it will work fine... so far ive been stuck in soft brink 3 times and each time doing the wipes from the recovery mode has worked...

I've tried to use the oneclick, but it seems it doesn't recognize the phone, since, i guess, it's made for a galaxy s.
The others are not my case, since I am able to get download mode, and all these are made to can get it back.
Anyway I found out a post in which the people were talking about the s5500, which apparentely is similiar to my device, and the owners of that model experienced a similar problem doing the same process....anyway in that post the people needed to use a Jtag, which is the only way to get it back....so I though it could be the same solution for my problem...but I don't know anybody with Jtag, so the only way is contacting the service center.
thanks anyway, when I will be back at home after Christmas I will try to find the ticket and I will probably try to get it back in warranty, since is preatty new...
@torchwolfery
I am not able to reach recovery mode, there is no way to get it back, even flashing the phone with different firmwares, all I got is download mode, and apparently that is completely pointless...since the only change in the phone behavior is that if i install a certain firmwares it doesn't even have the back-light working when it is stuck in bootloop.
Warranty is your only hope (as it was mine once and it worked).
I didn't think it was possible to brick these phones. There I have tried so much to try and brick it but I have not been able to as it still always goes into 'download' mode. The only advice I can give you is double check that you are using the correct version of Odin which is v4.38 and that you use cooper v1.0 as your OPS. If dont mind me asking, but exactly what did you do or do you remember the steps you took to brick it? What buttons are you using for 'recovery' mode.
Also please clarify if Odin is going in a loop or does the phone come on and then keeps rebooting? If it is the phone that keeps rebooting, then wiping cache and data partition should do the trick. This can be done by going into recovery mode (which I am aware you cannot get into) or if you can manage to get into the dialler quick enough before the reboot, by dialling *7267*3855# and that should format the relevant partitions (data and cahce) and bring it back to factory settings. Without further info, I cannot really tell exactly what the situation is.
The fact that you are getting 'download' mode, I dont think that it is bricked because it will still allow you to write the relevant directory/files to the relevant blocks. Either way, would be interested to know.

[Q] Galaxy s3 screen bootloop

Hey guys,
I have a galaxy s3 (I9300) and I've had it rooted for some time now. I started using CyanogenMod 10.2 nightlies a few months ago and they've mostly been fine. The odd issue comes up but I've been able to work it out. So, a few hours ago my phone just turned off of its own accord and started to bootloop, but on the "Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-19300" screen, not the CyanogenMod screen (to clarify, this screen comes up first then the cyanogenmod one usually). I've tried booting into recovery (CWM 6) but it just shows the CWM boot logo thing (that cog with the hat) and then loops back to the galaxy s3 page. I've also tried putting it in download mode, and it seems to stay on the warning page longer than it does anywhere else, but it wont let me actually put in it download mode from there.
I had a look around google and saw people have had the same problem, but everything I could find was when people had flashed a new rom/kernel etc. and something had gone wrong in the process. The weird thing about mine is that I haven't changed anything, even downloaded any new apps, for maybe a week, so it's not like something suddenly changed. I also wasn't using it when it started, it was just sitting on the table next to me.
Usually I can work these things out, but I'm stumped here. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Nope, if I press the volume up button to go into it, it just goes back to the bootloop. I'll try the battery thing though, thanks!
Nope, it didnt work, I left it out for maybe half an hour and nothings changed :/ anyone else got any ideas?
SDS thread and BootLoop identical questions posted .
What does Product Code say in download mode .
But if you cannot get to download mode then you need a service centre repair .
looks like u are facing SDA but a bit diffrend than a normal SDS.. mine still can go into download mode with blank product name..
If product name is blank in download mode then you got sudden death, consider a phone as a brick. Nothing will help, including repartitioning.
You need to contact service centre.
I'll check it in a minute, but if it is bricked, will any service center actually help me seeing as it's rooted and all?

AFAIK if it's sudden death then it's not possible to detect root and other modified things, or in other words - nobody has money to prove that you have been using unofficial firmware .

Ahhhh, well that is handy then
In terms of a service centre, will samsung have a list of them somewhere so I can find one near me?
So I contacted samsung and they gave me the link to book into a service centre etc, but I just realised that when I try to go into recovery mode, the CWM recovery logo comes up before going back to bootloop. Is there any way to get rid of that so that my root is completely untraceable?

If you can't flash anything with Odin (stock software) then you're screwed. Eventually you can try to enter recovery and flash "eraser" of recovery, but this requires working recovery... So if you actually can enter recovery then you can also flash anything, which will literally delete everything.
In other case, no, no way. But if you're lucky enough you may break it just by leaving your phone on for some hours in bootloop, haha.

To be honest think twice before physically crashing your internal memory, as it may void your warranty at all.
I'd try flashing stock firmware through odin, if it doesn't work I'd try flashing anything through recovery. If both of these methods fail just leave your phone in bootloop and hope that it'll automatically destroy everything...
Seriously though, you can either physically destroy internal memory or leave it in bootloop and hope for the best, eventually send them device in current status. Up to you, because you won't have a possibility to do anything else.

If I send it back to them as it is now it'll take them about 20 seconds I reckon before they see the CWM logo, realise its rooted and send it straight back, so I dont know what I'm gonna do hahah

[STOCK]Odin Firmware I527UCUBNE7 ATT 4.4.2 here

Uploading....Coming soon
Hello everyone this is the official odin package for the galaxy mega ATT version. With this you can get your phone back working if you get the "This phone is not running authorized software crap. " etc . Also hope it encourages more people to find a root method without the fear of having a brick. As many of you know this package was nowhere to be found so I had to bribe a Samsung employee to give it to me which means it wasn't free for me but I'm sharing it with you guys so if you send me a beer my way i'll be happy not mandatory.
This package is in multiple parts:
I527UCUBNE7
AP: Must be flashed under PDA in Odin. This is the biggest file and contains your system, recovery and kernel partition Download
BL: This is the bootloader. If you already took the update ignore this but if you want to upgrade your phone you must flash this Download
CP: This is the modem and other network related partitions. You must flash this under Phone in odin Download
CSC: This contains carrier related settings for our firmare. Flash this under CSC in odin. Download
Highly Recommended to perform a factory reset after the flashing is completed. Let me know your results
Omg !! Super thanks bro !!!! =))))))))
So good !!!!! update successfully
Thanks again !!!
so the guys that have tried this can confirm that is working!
and also liked to know how root is being dealt with

Garack has been working on it and has actually posted a file to flash in Odin I beleive. He say that if it boots up, then root should be obtainable.
Not sure anyone has tried it yet.
It is in the "root bounty for 4.4.2 update" thread
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using XDA Free mobile app
im getting error last stage on system upload any advised ?
@ Sunderwear Thank you very much for the great post and instructions. I'm currently testing it out with my i527 AT&T with ODIN 3.09... will post results in a few minutes. My phone was stuck in reboot after official 4.4.2 AT&T update left it in loop mode... give me a few minuytes and I'll post my results!
Too close. I did all the steps, and indeed it passed all Odin steps (picture), but it's still stuck in loop mode. When I try to go into Recovery mode (Vol + and HOME), it will only show the blue letters on top of the screen (picture), then it reboots on its own... no fix do you know a possible fix for loop mode.
If I go to Odin mode (Vol - and HOME), this is what I got (picture)...

Has your phone been repaired.. Like a broken screen recently? And if it fails with the red letters at system upload. M. Try again with a different USB cord or port. I own a cellphone repair shop and have been using the files with no problems

Yeah, the screen was replaced a while ago. The phone went bad once it installed the 4.4.2 official update. I will try use some other usb cable. I have plenty of microusb wires. Do you think the screen has something to do with it?

Ok, I used a different port using also a brand new official/original Samsung MicroUSB cable to retest it. :crying: no work, again stuck in loop mode. Tomorrow, I will get another computer to retest this with another one. Will post the results tomorrow.
When the phone loops, I do not have any letters that appear anywhere besides the Samsung Galaxy Mega logo. it just vibrates, and then it restarts without showing any messages/letters.
You mentioned "Red letters at System Upload" is that when I hold Vol - and home? because I only get the blue letters if I do the Vol+ and home.
Thank you for your patience man. I'm sort of a noob, well, not sort of!
I haven't tried this yet...but I will back up tomorrow and report back how it goes with my unit...I still have my factory with no knox bootloader so far..and was debating if I want to even try really...

No worries. I was asking because the same happened to me with a customers phone..got screen replaced..then he took the 4.4.2 ota update..got stuck at samsung logo bootloop..i loaded the firmware like 4 times..re partition with pit file and erase all nand...I would get stuck in the same screen saying entering recovery..So it's an issue going around. Last resort would be sending it to Samsung

Yes Sunderwear that will happen because there is 3rd parties making aftermarket screens and people were buying them as replacements...If you don't have the OEM screen the driver in the firmware won't work and it will hang...I run in to something like this on a Galaxy S4 I repaired...

Sorry for the long delay. I think I found the full issue with the Samsung Glaxy Mega boot loop on 4.4.2
My phone is till not working. We own four 6.3 Megas (1 my wife, 1 daughter, 1 son, and mine).
Officially I have 2 that are not working properly and stuck on boot loop. My wife and daughter are working properly on 4.4.2 my son's now and mine are stuck in boot loop. Wife's phone has original screen and it's working properly, my daughter has a replacement screen I bought on ebay for about $160.00 on January. My son's I've replaced the screens about 3-5 times already (a ton of money wasted), and mine, recently I did replaced it on May (before the 4.4.2 update on June). Here goes the issue:
My son's phone updated today about 2 hours ago while we were visiting the AT&T store for U-Verse Quote. Did not know it updated until we got home... Sons' phone is stuck in boot loop also now!!!!!!!!!!!! What I did was I took my daughters phone apart (with expensive replacement screen and currently running 4.4.2), and installed the screen on my sons and then mine, and each phone would work flawlessly with that screen, so I took the current replacement screens I had from my phone and my son to install them on my daughter's and each one would go into boot loop.
After that, I re installed the good screen on my daughters back, and daughters work properly again. I guess the generic OEM screens from eBay I've been buying for $50 bucks are not compatible with 4.4.2 Kitkat, they are only compatible with 4.2.2 Jelly bean.
Anyone knows where I can buy original screens? I've contacted several sellers on eBay to see if the screens work on 4.4.2 because I don't want to spend more money on screens. I just got 1 from China 2 days ago, and that one also gets stuck in boot loop... so frustrated with screens. All my OT from work goes to pay for these issues... Help anyone? Anyone sells working 4.4.2 compatible screens?
Also, I will buy a broken ORIGINAL screens from ebay (like $7-$10) to test it out and verify. I will post results. Hope this experiment (and my sadness) will help you guys out if stuck in boot loop.
P.S. Oh yeah, I did do both phones on PDA, then all BL,PDA, etc... and I still get boot looped. I have to say THANK YOU to the original autheor because it does work! It's just my screens that doesn't work!!!!! HELP GUYS!!!!!:crying:
Is there a certian order u need to flash these in?
Any short tutorials..
Ive flashed odin pda only b4..
Have to factory reset first?
Thanks guys.

Galaxy S7 brick/bootloop data saving for dummies - need urgent help please

hey there im thomas from switzerland and im new here
i cant post the thread in the specific area due to my newbie status. im sorry
my englisch isnt that good; neither is my knowledge in software engineering. i dont know the specific terms like adbpush/pull, cwm, mount and so on. im not even sure what exactly the difference between rooting and flashing is lol and i have no clue about what a kernel is
so thats gonna be kinda funny. i hope
well my problem i quite easy to explain. my wifes galaxy s7 is bricked/has a boot loop whatever. it powers up, doestn vibrate and shows the samsung logo an stocks from that on. it doesnt reboot automatically. its stuck at this point until the battery dies or i enter the boot mode or bios or how u say to the mode (power, home, volup) and shut it down. when i shut it down manually im able to restart it again and enter the download mode (voldown). simple restarting or wiping cache didnt work.
so u see i already tried to fix it myself within my abilities. i postet my acutal problem in some other forums but i didnt really got helped out and mostly was told to contact the xda developers for professional and patient help.
i dont want to get the phone running again, its display is a little broken and i got a guarantee so i can swap the phone via my provier, so thats not the actual point. the only thing i want to have are the many many pictures which my wife didnt cloudshare or save otherwise.
so what can i exactly do to recover the pictures and videos. ive read as long as i can access the download mode im able to do something, but no one really knows how to.
the device is a standard s7 non rooted, i dont know exactly which android is running on it but i think my wife would have updated the version if the notification would have popped up. so i think its android 6.0 or 6.0.1 or something like that. im pretty sure she didnt enter the development settings to enable usb debugging or something else. its just a standard s7 from a german store. i do not know the exact model number of the phone like (gt-123456) hope these informations are neccessary if not sorry lol
ive read a lot of flashing instructions with lots of terms which ive never heard and cant explain to myself.
so is there probably anyone who would so nice to instruct for dummies how to get my pictures and videos from the phone please? just explain what to do in non-it-professional-words. if ure going to use a term just quickly explain in very few words what is meant by that.
ive read somewhere about an samsung usb driver to install first, but everywhere are only parlty described guides which i just dont understand.
i have downloaded odin3, have an usb cable, the device, a very slow win10 laptop, absolutely no clue of the complete matter but much patience haha
thank you very very very much
thomas
I am not sure that you may or may not get DATA from phone Back. But if you flash with stock rom for now you may able to open phone.
Allow me some time to get instruction and firmware and necessary files. Be patient.

hey there
thank you very much. ive found a video which declared what files i maybe need.
i already downloaded the 2.1 gb sized rom from sammobile.com for my model last night, i found the number on the case and i also downloaded and installed the samsung usb driver for the s7.
tonight im going to try out what to do. so what im about to do with that?
i also read that usb debugging must be enabled, which surely has not been done by my wife.
cheers

so the actual question is: what do i have to do now with all these data? try to "flash" with odin3 like in many other descriptions? if it works, does my phone boot as like as nothing ever happened and i can totally use the device again? or is just the bootloader menu extended so that i have to go further steps to get my pictures saved or what?
im sorry, as i said i dont know much about android things like that.
what am i supposed to do now and what exactly is my phone supposed to do afterwards?

Your problem's solution is simple...when u flash ur firmware file (2.1gb) through Odin, it will only clear ur system partition and some other partitions but won't touch ur data portion where ur pics are stored... So just flash ur firmware using Odin ..
well i just flashed the phone, odin worked with success but the s7 is still stuck at the same point. it doesnt boot up.
what else can i do to get to my data? is there any option?
