Hey guys need help here so today i planned to unlocked the bootloader and root my Xperia M4 Aqua (E2353) running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow i did follow a guide on how to root and unlock bootloader here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-twrp-touch-t3247939
After following the guide it did worked my bootloader was unlocked and i was able to install TWRP Recovery but the time i flash SuperSU which is the final part to gain root access and after flashing it i cleared the dalvik cache because it did said on the guide but it was optional but i did it and then press reboot and BAM! i'm bootloop it's stucked at the bootanimation any solution on this Please help ASAP!
Try another kernel, after install supersu dont wipe dalvik and wait about 5minutes on bootanimation

I am a noob when it comes to android but i have managed to get root access on my device and i have installed CWM recovery, my question is how do i now install a custom rom, my device is bootloader unlock allowed No, so i am aware that the kernel can not be modified and this will limit the roms that can be installed, but after hours of searching i have found a hand full of roms that say they will work with locked boot loaders but stop the phone booting. am i installing them wrong?

You can only flash Roms with locked bootloader, like modded Originalfirmwares, you download it copy it on SD Card and go in CWM flash the Rom and then do a whipe and restart and enjoy
I am trying to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/development/rom-stoneui-hd-118-t2952024, i have root and cwm i install from my sd card and reboot but it just shows the sony logo untill i hard reset and reflash 14.4.A.0.108.
Hi, I am a newbie here, I have a problem with flashing the rom (zip file) in the recovery that is my phone will crash (restart instead). And I have my phone locked bootloader here is what I have done to my phone
1) using flashtool to downgrade to a rootable rom ( 23.1.A.1.28 )
2) after flashing I use kingroot to root, after that install busybox and last install xzrecovery.
3) after I reboot my phone to twrp recovery and wipe data to perform a rom install (twrp version v2.8.6.0 )
But when I install the rom my phone restart and I stuck and the Sony logo boot screen.
How do I solve this problem.

I m not sure about that **** of kingroot.
Downgrade firmware to. 314 kit kat and than root and install recovery and finall y try to flash rom.
For locked BL you must flash stock based custom roms.

i have xperia m4 aqua e2363 with 26.1.B.2.147 fw instaled i want to root and install twrp and yes my bootlader is unlocked
if you already have bootloader unlocked, install TWRP and flash SuperSU.

copy SuperSU.zip to internal memory
flash the recovery.img from fastboot

i recently update my sony xperia z2 (D6502) to andriod 6.0.1. and now i want to root my phone but i can't i use every thing but happen nothing and also my phone is not getting into recovery mode i tried like other site say close ur phone press power button + volume down few times. But - when switching on, notification lights of my phone never light up.it just shows a Sony logo . and i tried kingroot apk or pc but they didn't work..
please help me to resolve my problem

Yes bro, like he said, you have to downgrade to get root. Then you flash a pre rooted official MM zip and install recovery via adb.
I have the same problem days ago, no way to boot into recovery. I fix it by flash the custom kernel here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/kernel-advanced-stock-kernel-t3347413
must have bootloader unlocked. this custom kernel will make sure the recovery in FOTAKernel work.

Flash latest rootable Sony's rom (D6503_17.1.2.A.0.314) with flashtool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2162907)
Root with rootkitXperia_KK4.4.2_20140719
Install NUT dual recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2261606) or the recovery of your choice.
Reboot in recovery, Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik/ART Cache.

I am trying to install root, twrp recovery and custom ROM ( specifically this ROM ). But i cannot enter to the recovery mode...
Official twrp-3.0.2-0 succesfully flashed in fastboot but when i try command "fastboot reboot recovery" the mobile only load android and turns on normally... the combination hardware buttons also do not work.
The next question is, What is a kernel ? I have successfully installed this kernel .... Could this be the reason why I can't load the recover mode?
Please help me, I don't know what to do anymore :crying: all I want is root and custom rom

before you do this you should backup all your important data
1-wipe data factory reset
2- wipe cache
3- install zip rom
4- download google apps and install it by recovery it should be a zip file
5-repot system and enjoy
the recovery is like twrp or cwm it's not a kernel
there is 2 type of kernel :
1-kernel itself
2-kernel with merged recovery
about the kernel and recovery, there is deference the kernel is very important for system to work it connects between the hardware and the software and every operating system has its own kernel but here in android they sometimes merge kernel with recovery but when you flash-kernel or recovery every one replace each other be careful and know that, don't worry you won't brick something in the near future when you will install custom ROMs you will notice that.
