Hi all !
I have a new probleme.
I have flash RR v5.8.0 with TWRP ZCX. (Clean Flash with Full Wipe + Wipe SD Card + Wipe External SD Card.) :good:
All function work perfectly (volte, FP...) :good:
But my device is now encrypted.
How to disable encryption in this device?
I can't change this setting in security submenu....
Thx for help !!
TitQuentin
Encryption is enabled by default in 7.1.1.
But will it cause any problems with dirty flashing or changing roms? Same case with me I've a encrypted phone now after flashing RR from zcx TWRP coming from MIUI 8mm

This can be fixed without wiping internal data. Flash nitrogen os and boot to system, when the system prompts for password then again boot to recovery and open file manager in twrp ( file manager can be found under advance section) and browse to data/system and delete
- gatekeeper.password.key
- gatekeeper.pattern.key
- locksettings.db
-locksettings.shm
-locksettings.wal
And then reboot.

Choose "format data" in TWRP. Not "wipe data". You'll lose your internal storage data too in the process. It's because MIUI encrypts data by default.
When i flash any rom with zxc recovery at booting it say uncryption unsuccessfully plz enter the correct password
I try wipe cache and data
Format your data partition!
+ Plus when flashing roms also patch the boot image so it does not get encrypted on next boot of rom.
SuperSu/Magisk and Custom Kernels have the above patch, plus a script called FED patcher.
TWRP doesn't work well with encrypted devices.
Format data
This is encrypted by the company..so to avoid this first you need to take a backup of the internal storage and then copy the ROM files and gapps in the SD card ..now open twrp recovery then click on wipe then format data...then type yes
This will format the internal data ..(SO PLEASE TAKE A BACK)
..Now install the ROM using sd card and enjoy the ROM..
Hope this solves your issue

thnx i will try this
Try Red Wolf recovery. Always does the job.
I know this is might be common issue to people who flashed any Oreo ROM and is happening to my Mi5 as well. There is a bug where the Oreo ROM automatically encrypts the TWRP.The password is your current PIN.However,I want to try another ROM and when I get pass the loading logo(lets say Lineage logo) it asks for my PIN.I entered my PIN correctly, the previous PIN I used on my Oreo ROM,but it didnt work.I tried removing the file where the PIN is contained via ADB and its still locked.I wiped everything on my internal storage and now the dreaded PIN is gone. How do I fix this issue? Should I remove my PIN before I flash another ROM? I mostly use my internal storage as my main storage.

Have you formatted your data once before flashing any oreo rom? Happened with me too, but only thing you need to do is just format the data once. And it doesn't matter if you keep or remove the pin on your device, since it it wiped when you wipe the system and data. The only thing you need to remember is to format the data once everytime you switch between android versions. (Ie one format when switching from 7.1.2 to 8.0 or 8.1 and one format when switching from 8.1 or 8.0 to 7.1.2)

Yes this is one thing which bugs everyone, but formating data is important, you can either get an sd card, or after formating you can transfer the file from pc to device

Already fixed the issue.Flashed TWRP 3.2 instead of the older 3.2......it clearly states on twrp website that they added Oreo support on 3.2 and fixed some critical bugs.
Hi i want to ask how is the right to to flash from Pie to Miui??
I do direct flash and i got encrypted so i format internal. But after that i still got encrypted.
Any help??
Thanks
in twrp (same twrp which you used to instal pie ) go to advanced wipe and select everything (except micro sd) and now copy your rom to internal and flash it . it should work
This is so annoying thing for me. Every time when I want to use TWRP because of encryption I must format /data. Is there any chance to avoid this step? I want to have TWRP but I have no OTA. So, I need to download ROM, enter TWRP /data and always from scratch. So idiotic
How to not format /data and still have TWRP full operational?

Hint: OrangeFox does not do*anything*(eg, encryption) to your data partition. If your data partition is encrypted, it is normally something done by your ROM. Sometimes it depends on a setting in your ROM's configuration - but some ROMs force encryption by default.
Which doesn't solve problem

Format your data, install the OrangeFox zip again (because formatting data will have wiped the internal storage - which includes OrangeFox's files), tick "Disable forced encryption" in the OrangeFox settings, and install your ROM. OrangeFox will remove the forced encryption settings in the ROM that you have just installed, and you shouldn't have a problem with forced encryption with that ROM.
