I've searched the forum extensively and didn't find anything like this. Hopefully someone can help.
using InParisV5 rom.
I'm trying to use the samsung app for the app store.
When I run the app it wants to update. It does it successfully but then opens a dialog box asking what language to use and it only lists 1 (I think it's chinese by the symbols)
If I cancel then it just doesn't run. if I select ok it runs but it is in chinese.
I tried uninstalling the app (v3.10.115)
also uninstalled SamsungAppsUNA2.2.0.19
also uninstalled com.sec.android.app.samsungapps.com.una
After re-installing the V3 I get the same result. If I just install the UNA2.2 I don't see the app listed so i guess that isn't the app itself. (can u tell i'm a noob?)
Any ideas on how i can get the USA langusge option. (I do tell it USA on the initial install but when it updates that's when the problem arises).
Hi,
I'm on XtreStoLite 2.4 5.1.1 on my S6 edge for months now. All was working perfectly. Recently, GPS started crashing randomly, but except for the error, services and sync seemed to be working fine. Now ytdy armageddon started and now Google apps connected to GPS (search, keep, music, but not play store for example) will not run and get killed instantly.
What I did based on what ive found:
- deactivated play services, uninstalled updates and restored the account, GPS 9.0.83 (240-121911109)
- wiped cache/dalvik which helped for couple of minutes
appreciate any help!
I've had problems too with the latest play services on LG G4 H815 6.0 v20d. Google Play Services crashes non boot and Google Chrome crash after a few seconds of opening.
Uninstalling updates fixed it but I'm told by many apps that I need the latest version. I didn't wipe cache though.

True, stopped the apps from crashing, but made them unusable, even Inbox which worked just fined on the corrupted (?) version.

Got a fix. Google apps working. No force closes/errors. Root needed to prevent auto-update to latest version.
i) Get to the May 7th (or earlier) Play Services from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/
Look at the notes at the top to see which version you need arm or 64 ect.
In you're case, it's '240' so arm64 + arm android 5.0+ version. Direct download for you link: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...s-9-0-81-240-121617224-android-apk-download//ii) Enable airplane mode to prevent updates
iii) Then just install the apk on top of your rolled back version. Apks only install if version is newer.
iv) Using a root-enabled file manager like ES File Explorer, open \data\app and create two new, empty folders titled com.google.android.gms-1.apk and com.google.android.gms-2.apk. This tricks Google into causing auto updating of your GPS to fail.
v) Reboot (important)
Optional) Set Google Play Services as a device administrator again under security settings for Device Manager features.
If you get an error during install, then follow this guide to install: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/delete-disable-downgrade-prevent-update-t3091832

Edit: yep. Same here. When I turn internet back on, it updates to latest version. Try installing an older version.
I'll try and find another way to stop auto updates.
Same problem here, uninstalled services by titanium then installed back by apk and flashed open gapps, worked for me
None of those worked for me. Well, I used the opportunity to update XtreStoLite to MM, and problem disappeared, obviously
However, come to think of it, it could have sth to do with Amplify killing processes. Thing is, I didn't manipulate with anything there recently, but after activating xposed module on updated ROM i saw some crashes again. Anyway, I disabled it in any case now, want to see how the battery will last on the updated ROM, but it could be connected

Were you by any chance changing your phones emojis? I was and rebooted and noticed the GPS crash. Undoing emoji changes didn't fit it.

Hello,
I own a new Honor 5x since 4 weeks. Last week gboard was released in the play store and i tried to install the app on my phone. The installation ended with no error but the install button is shown again. The app is visible and usable in the system but the play store detects that i can install the app again and again and again.
The keyboard is visible in the settings menu of emui but i can't access the keyboard-settings. If I touch the menu button I only come back to the settings menu.
On google i can't find anything about this. Can anyone here help me?
Best Regards

How about uninstalling it and installing again. If you are rooted, you can uninstall system apps.

My Phone is not rooted so i can't uninstall the keyboard App. It's only possible to deactivate it but after that it's the same problem again.

Had a same issue, EMUI came with Google Keyboard 4.1 preinstalled, but couldn't upgrade at all, Play Store didn't recognise it.
Since I can't root mine yet, I tried with factory reset, and it worked. Do a backup first, if you don't want to setup apps again.

Try to clear data of Play Store.
Hello everyone,
I currently have the Canadian Model of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925W8 with Android 6.0.1). I have need to convert an application on my phone to a System App, which is something you can only do while rooted. After performing some research, it appears this website provides a root methods to use on this particular phone. The thing is - once I convert the application to a system application, I need to revert back to an unrooted phone (obviously with the system app still in tact). My question is: after performing the conversion, how to I return to an unrooted phone while keeping the converted app a system app?
Please let me know,
Thank you.
Can i ask which app?

Sure, it's a GPS Spoof app (obviously for Pokemon Go). I actually have a Galaxy S8+ but, with the game's increased security and Android 7.0's security updates, spoofing has been disabled on that phone altogether. I still however have my S6 Edge which is on Android 6.0.1 therefore bypassing a lot of Android 7.0's security. After a lot of research, it appears that the only way to spoof your location within that app is to move the GPS spoof app as a system app, then unrooting so the game will play. (This prevents the need to turn on Mock Locations within developers menu which Pokemon Go flags).
I attempted to run the root linked above however it caused my phone to hang on the boot screen. I'm currently trying to fix this by flahsing stock firmware however Odin keeps telling me it failed....not the usual PASS notification. Help would be appreciated

Oh I see, have you tried magisk and magisk hide, I use it with Pokemon go and it doesn't detect root.
When you say it hangs on boot screen do you mean the Samsung logo or powered by Android logo? It can hang on Samsung logo for a short while it's normal.
Finally what error are you getting in odin and we can fix that first?

Thank you for your quick response! I managed to successfully flash the stock firmware on the phone, allowing me to get past the Boot screen (the samsung screen is where it froze before). I attempted to flash the root package once more and this time it was successful!
I then opened Titanium Backup, converted my GPS Spoofing app to a system app, which caused my phone to say "Processing...". This screen remained here for the duration of the entire night. When I woke up this morning, it STILL said "Processing...". I then force closed TB and rebooted the phone. When it restarted, I checked Settings - Applications - Application Manager and, yes, I can see my GPS Spoofing app listed under the system apps dropdown menu. The problem now is...how do I launch it to use with pokemon Go? I'll need to unroot, figure out how to launch the application, and hopefully it will work then...

Now that you have it installed as a system app does it show in the app drawer? What I can tell you is I have tried a lot of GPS spoofing apps for Pokemon go and none of them actually worked. You can always flash magisk and hide Pokemon go from detecting root status and passing safety net. Then you can keep root

Unfortunately, no. The GPS Spoofing app does not appear in the App drawer after converting it to a system app. And Magisk sounds great but, to be honest, I am not interested in keeping root, I just needed the one app to be a system app to hide it from Pokemon Go's flagging (as well as Mock Locations in Developers menu). Do you know where I could launch the app from?

I don't know Sorry, you can try moving the apk to system/priv-app and reboot. But I know the app needs to be hidden from root and safety net to be able to work with Pokemon go.

As far as I know, Pokemon Go cannot see system apps within system\apps or system\priv-app. I will attempt to uninstall the system app and perhaps place the apk file into the suggested folder, ensuring permissions are rw-r--r-- (which I believe is the correct permission settings). After that, i will unroot, allowing my phone to pass safety net, then, in theory, it should work. The only problem is I still need the icon to launch the spoofing app, which is not located in the drawer...if I cannot launch it, it cannot be used.

Hey! A quick update - I don't think I succeeded in getting the GPS Spoofer to be a system app however I semi-got it to work. This particular app has a setting that is called "Privacy Mode" which apparently allows it to hide it from being detected by Mock Location settings in Developer Options. When I use this, I was able to spoof successfully once from my home (real location) however my character would run back and forth like a crazy person. The second time I attempted to spoof from a different location, I signed in successfully however the phone's GPS wouldn't pick up a location and I was in a huge empty field with a GPS error (The location settings were set to GPS only). Do you know how I can get around this to spoof successfully?
A13 stock. Magisk 25203. PS Remote Play app 5.5, and hidden in the Magisk deny list, like other apps.
Other typical root detecting apps foiled, but not this one. Hiding the Magisk manager itself didn't help.
Suggestions?
Assuming you're on the stock ROM, else you might need to use MagiskHide Props Config. Try turning on Zygisk and adding Displax's version of USNF and Shamiko (note: Shamiko is a closed-source root hider, so your call if you trust it). Keep in mind that if you use Shamiko, then the "enforce deny list" switch needs to be off. Shamiko reads from the list and handles it instead (so you do still need to have Google Play Services and PS Remote Play in the deny list). So far I haven't had anything detect root with this setup as long as it's in my deny list, though I don't have a PlayStation so I can't test it with this specifically.
I am on A13 stock. I'll look into this. FWIW, one doesn't need a PlayStation to see the app PS Remote App fail the root check, which is upon opening it, resulting in error 88001003

Interesting, it's happening the moment you open the app? I don't have a Playstation account, but I can open the app and get in far enough to see the account login screen with no error. That's on my system with the above utilities installed as well as Magisk and LSposed, running the Android 13 QPR1 beta. If you set all that up and it's still happening, try clearing the PS Remote Play app's data, too.

Yes. It may be using some data from the general PS App to auto-login, but it appears as instantaneous error to me, even after full storage/cache wipe and force close.
I just updated USNF, and installed the MOD version on top of that as you suggested, still no go. Disney+, Nintendo, other apps that check still work. Play Store certified, pass YASNAC.
Haven't tried the Shamiko thing yet
Are you hiding the Magisk app itself?
I'm using Canary manager, btw

I am hiding the Magisk app itself, with the default "Settings" name. Normal release (25.2/25200) of Magisk. Do you have any other root-related apps the PS Remote Play app might be looking for? (Though I myself have Fox's Magisk Module Manager, LP, the TWRP app, and Franco Kernel Manager installed on my phone and they don't seem to be setting it off.)
I'd suggest turning off USB debugging. I had similar issue with some of my banking and other apps and tried every possible solution but didn't work. Finally I read somewhere to turn off USB debugging and Eureka!!
I've narrowed it to something the recent app version 5.5 is doing
Versions 5.0 and earlier have no problems loading.
My USB debugging is/was off.
It must be looking at / for some other app I have installed, which is really annoying to troubleshoot
Hello,
As you said, I downgraded the app to the version 5.0 ans now I can login
But I can't associate the playstation
It ask me to upgrade to the last version and if i refuse, the association failes.
Do you have the same problem ?
Thx

We should also try to determine what exactly latest version is detecting and preventing app from working
