Hi, I am a student studying software engineering and this is my 3rd year and i am required to find a topic/subject for the undergraduate project to propose for lecturer. later it will be developed for real but i need to do the presentation first to obtain the lecturer's interest.
so anyone have any idea for apps or systems in mind that involving of using Android device? most students are doing web development or robotic kind of topic, but i wanted to do something for Android. the system must not be too simple, but also not too complicated for me to develop in the future but have a powerful output/results which help people doing things/works in everyday life.
and also some lecturers requires it to have Artificical Intelligence feature/type in a system.
and if you do know while suggesting, please do include what coding/programming language and what other knowledge(graphics/physics/etc) would be used in those systems.
I'm using SGS2, and prefer to make it working for hdpi device first cuz i can test it

I was referred here by a friend to ask for help on an Android Java Application. I would consider myself beginner level programmer with limited knowledge in Java.
I am currently a high school student who volunteers at my school's tech department. My boss came up with an idea to make an application that we can show the superintendent of the school. I decided to take that idea and begin development for an application. I have been working for a few months now on this project and I only achieved the basics and created a Google maps system with an SQLite. My problem at this moment is the SQLite and then possibly integrating maps to work with the SQL.
I have no money to offer. I ask for someone who can help me fix my mistakes and possibly guide me through this project. I understand this is alot to ask. I have until March 26th to hand in this application.
I'm a C# developer by profession and have dabbled in Android application development in the early days of Android (prior to Eclair). At the time, I followed the Google Tutorial, various websites and bought a couple of books. However, I felt there were some things lacking explanation to fully understand how things worked. I've recently had the interest to revisit it. I know there's the Xamarin software that will allow me to develop Android applications using C# and Visual Studio but I was keen to stick with Java code and Eclipse. I know the Google Tutorial has been updated but a brief look at it still seems to show there's not enough explanation behind certain aspects.
Can anyone recommend a good book that takes you through a real and working Android application which has good explanations for things along the way?

Hi, I have built an application using android programming and I want to forward & sharing image from one application to other which was loaded from a remote url. I usually search for many Mobile Development Blogs which fortunately get resolved in such Q&A forums. So again, I am hoping that some of the tech experts in this community can help to figure out my issue.

I liked Xamarin but creating more advanced UI means you will have to know java/kotlin.
Is it worth learning Java/Kotlin for Android development then move into Xamarin for it's cross platform compatibility?
Any help would be appreciated.
