Developer request for AOSP ROM [redmi note 3 pro]! :) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

There is an AOSP but it has sony apps, has errors. I want a pure AOSP MM no extras just as it was meant to be for the Redmi Note 3. No fancy names, tweaks etc just basic drivers and latest AOSP MM source code.
Obviously things like fingerprint, volte, snapdragon camera would be needed.
Which Dev is up to the task?

Hey there... It is not so easy to develop as one may think! Developers will not always respond to these sorts of threads. I am moving this thread to the q&a section, as it does pose a question, but generally these threads will not attract the attention of developers for your device. It's never too late to start learning how to develop though, maybe you can give it a shot!

AOSP base rom for Redmi Note 4(MT6797)

Hi
Please build or port an Aosp rom to our great devices.
If somebody agree with me, please strengthen in it.
Thanks

There are people working on CM and AICP ports. You can see here: http://en.miui.com/thread-407842-1-1.html

If you already knew then why did you start a new thread?
Why do some people think that asking for a ROM will make it magically happen faster or something?
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk
Do you use AOSP rom if that rom don't have fingerprint function (because RMN4 use FPC1035 with MTK TrustSonic enabled, it's so hard to port it unless Xiaomi release kernel source code) ?
Most people asking for porting rom from other devices but also demand porting rom have full functions working like original rom which impossible to make it happen...

Yep. As I said in the X20 kernel thread, it's only just the beginning because that's only generic X20 kernel source. ODM's *always* add their own hardware that is not covered by the original kernel source.
Typically, Camera and Sensor drivers were the most difficult to port (with blobs and reverse-engineering stock firmware). But TrustSonic sounds like it will be the biggest task.

difference, beetween roms

What are the differences, advantage and disadvantages of aosp, lineage and gzosp.I asked for this question not for full form

Aosp - the stock vanilla android code which Google provides. It's nothing and without any feature in itself.
Lineage - They modify the aosp source code according to themselves and add features like customisation, advanced reboot etc. Usually they replace googles code with their own, thus making a difference.
Gzosp - kinda same to los and they add their own basic feature like advanced reboot etc. But their additions are less than los. And they don't really modify the code.
All of the above serve as a base rom. But since los is much more modified it makes a rom itself. You can actually use a base gzosp rom but it won't have that many features like los in the begining.

Gzop integrate from CAF as well and probably that's the reason why its relatively smoother than LOS or AOSP base roms

First thing it's wrong section
custom ROM depends on users choice and usage and different people may have different views
if you look for best stability but limited customization opt for omni ROM or AOSP-E
If you looking for super customisations then go for CrDroid, Resurrection Remix, Havoc-OS etc
but if you looking for balanced one along with decent battery backup go for MiracleDroid
my recommendation CrDroid
daily driver ( must try) : MiracleDroid
I found that the latest AOSiP (Illusion Project) combined with Stormguard kernel gave me really excellent battery life, had lots of options and good performance.
I also really like Alexey711's LineageOS Extended. I don't think he posts here on XDA, but keeps his wares on AFH. He updates regularly and provides lots of good options.
Then lastly, I also love MIUI 10. I prefer Xiaomi.eu's version, but also really like Escobar1945's version (eagerly waiting for that update!).
In the end though, every single user has different needs and different usage patterns. Best thing is to try them all. Try different combinations of ROMs and kernels until you find one that works best for you.

What about Redmi k30 Ultra Custom roms?

I was planning to buy this amazing device but i'm a little bit worried about the long term usage(atleast 2years) because of MIUI and Deminsity 1000+ .. so is there any chance of getting custom roms and gcam stable port? Because Redmi Note 8Pro is also on mediatek chipset but it has a lot of gcam port and custom rom support.
This is a phone made for China, I don't think there will be alot of custom roms. And I don't think there will be a gcam as well.
A Custom ROM basically doesn't depend on Android device's chipset.
The general approach to finding one is Googling for "YOUR_PHONE_MODEL ROM" or something similar, optionally including the wanted Android version. Try it out - you'll find what you want.
I will build rom for this line. There are international languages.

Very happy to see this and will be following eagerly @vandieutot . I really like my phone but the software is a big let down. Too many issues and workarounds required to get it working properly.
In preparation for this, could you tell me what will be required?
I currently have the K30 Ultra but its still standard phone. No root or anything else as yet.
Cheers. S'n'D

Hi,
Planning to get this phone too... But no french language is kind of a draw back.
I do not build anymore (no time) but I can offer a build server in case you need something to build rather fast.
If you need it, send me a PM.
Regards.

If your rom safe to flash(no brick) im ready to help in testing.
If you can make a custom rom, that would be wonderful. Many k30u owners in China want it. There is a guy that made an Aosp rom for it, but he can't fix the bugs(fingerprint bluetooth)so if you can just help us, that would be great!

[req REDMI NOTE 4X MIDO ROM STOCK OR CUSTOM]

HELLO im newbie. i have one old redmi note 4x mido, with snapdragon chip, 3 gb ram an 32gb rom.
im looking for a rom clear, fast light , basic.
i have installed twrp 3.2.1.0 and now i want to root it.
who can help me?
is possibble to have a rom like stock rom but can install it from twrp?
thank you very much.
please help me...
First, update your TWRP:
Download TWRP for mido
Download TWRP Open Recovery for mido
dl.twrp.me
Then you can think of a custom rom. If you want light and basic rom, you can look on LineageOS or Pixel Experience. First one is being releasing without Google Apps, you would need to flash a package (if you want to use Google apps of course ):
The Open GApps Project
OpenGApps.org offers information and pre-built packages of The Open GApps Project. The Open GApps Project is an open-source effort to script the automatic generation of up-to-date Google Apps packages. All Android versions and platforms supported.
opengapps.org
Pixel Experience is equipped with Google apps by default. Both ROMs are close to pure Android, not like MIUI. You could find some MIUI ports from other devices, but I wouldn't really recommend them. For such an old device like mido something close to stock Android is much better

How have you managed to make 100+ posts if you're a newbie?
Personally I can't tell much about those ROMs because I use different one. But they are well-recognized in the community, so they are rather safe way to go.
As for the camera, they probably have some camera pre-built. But you can achieve much better quality with some GCam mods. Even better than with the stock cam, if you know how to set it up.
Anyway, if you'll decide you don't like custom ROMs, you can always go back to stock using Mi Flash tool. But I doubt it, since customs allows you to enjoy Android 10 now (11 is on its way for mido too, but still early at the moment)
