Did you mean flash mode???
If that so, run the latest flashtool version, and then
push your phone's back button during pc connection and release it after message appeared
on the flashtool.
thank you for the replay.
I want to flash kernel fxp133 but on some tutorials i saw it can be flashed in fastboot mode.
i try to put the ftf file in firmware folder but it doesnt show up when i try to flash kernel in flash tool.
maybe im doing something wrong.
to flash .ftf put phone in flash mode, to flash .img files put phone in fastboot mode. I never heard x10 kernel flashed using fastboot.
kernel flashed but now i the phone hang on fxp logo.
Okay, I have a big problem with my phone, I decided to redo the operating system to a new version/ROM because the one i was using on it before several issues where coming up with it, 1: I Couldn't connect to other providers even though i had phone unlocked. 2: Some default programs where having problems starting.
So When doing a kernel upgrade my phone did not respond kept staying for 2 hours on the "SE" logo, and would not budge, so i decided to remake it, after about 4 hours i was able to get a OS on it, but this OS was older and out of date, when trying to go back to xRecovery it did not want to come up, i downloaded a Reboot to Recovery APK, which informed me that My "xRecovery" was not installed, which is weird because it was installed before.
I been trying to get the Default root method to install xRecovery which every time i ran the "Flash tools" program, it would not allow me to install xRecovery.
If anyone can contact me on skype "mradziwilko" to help me out, or post here ill be here checking on forum every min.
Thanks

Hi buddy, Have you tried to use ftf file like zahdi5h, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212260 to update?
You have to have unlocked boot loader and you can drag and drop the ftf into flash tool. Make sure you tick no final verification in flashtool or you will get error.
If that don't work then I suggest starting over with fresh 2.3.3.
Go back to stock using Sony Ericsson Update Service (seus) Use google or search threads for program.
Then just re-do, unlock boot loader and install recovery again with flashtool.
Hopefully zahdi5h ftf file will get you out of trouble.

I downloaded this FTF File, when opening it with the latest Flash Tool, it does not Recognize it.
Is their a possability you can link me another FTF, i know CM9 worked, but because i dont have a boot loader i need a ftf to be flashed, i tried with the IMG file, but the flashtool.exe keeps saying <Waiting for Device> and does nothing.
Also to add more info :
My Phone I thought was originaly a Xperia X10a, which it bios it says its a Xperia X10i.

Hi mate is your boot loader unlocked? If not then unlock it with flashtool. Try Version 0.9.10.1 of flashtool. Work's for me.
Download from http://androxyde.github.io/index.html?1373179542000
And you can also drag and drop the FTF file into flash-tool. FTF contains Kernel and rom., tick the no final verification box on bottom right.

Hi everyone,
I just bought a brand new Z Ultra C6806. I plugged it into my computer, installed the My Companion software, and then proceeded to root the device via the Chinese root, which seemed to work just fine. I then tried to unlock the bootloader with Flash Tool, but couldn't get Flash Tool to recognize my device. It kept on saying that I needed to install drivers. I'm doing this on a windows computer, and I already navigated to the drivers folder and installed the z ultra drivers.
I then got fed up with that and saw the thread that let you flash a recovery with a locked bootloader. So I followed those instructions and had a working CWM and TWRP. Except then I wiped data and system and flashed the CarbonRom custom rom, and now my phone won't boot at all.
I'm hopeful that everything is not lost since when I hold volume up and plug my phone into my computer I see a blue LED, which I have gathered means that it is successfully still entering fastboot mode?
How do I get Flash Tool to recognize my device? And is it possible to unlock the C6806 bootloader or have I been deeply mistaken all along?
Thanks for any help

You can use method A. Read carefully how to install the drivers and do not use a USB 3.0 port.

so what you've done is to try and flash a ROM with a locked bootloader. You've found out that it wont....
You just need to use 'flashtool' and flash a FTF file.
But like you said before you'll need to ensure drivers are installed properly. flashtool will need to say:
'device connected in fastboot mode' or
'device detected in flash mode'
Download the latest version of flashtool. Then when you select the type of device, you can select Xperia Z Ultra.
and make sure that ADB is installed (windows will detect new device has been plugged in, and if it wont install drivers, you will need to tell it where to find them)

Reinstalled flashtool drivers for z ultra and flashmode and fastboot, pointed my windows drivers interface to the driver file I downloaded from the sony unlock bootloader website and still didn't get anything on my laptop.
Did the exact same things on my desktop and everything is working fine now, flashtool recognized my device, flashed a Sony FTF, unlocked bootloader successfully, playing with CM now.
Still not sure why this is the case, but alls well that ends well I suppose, thanks.
install flashtools driver you can find it in Flashtools folder. PC need driver when xzu in fastboot mode.If you use USB 3.0 like me try different usb slot.

Hi Guys,
My first Sony Phone (previous Samsung User). I have the US Version C6806 LTE model. I have a similar question. I have unlocked my bootloader successfully via Sony's website. I want to be able to install TWRP and backup original ROM before applying custom ROMs. Doesn't look like there is a root available for this phone model yet? I am on firmware 14.1.B.2.257. My questions are:
1 - Is there a TWRP image I can flash on my model via fastboot without having root? Then boot into TWRP and backup the ROM?
2 - If not can I flash any of the images that I seen on XDA via fastboot that include the Root and TWRP in them? Or will those not work with .257 firmware?
3- If none of the options above work can I download an FTF image (older version) that I can root and use TWRP and if so which image do you recommend that would work with my phone model and LTE network on AT&T?
Thanks for all your help and sorry for all the questions I am a noob with Sony Phones. I did research here and seems most of the threads and images are NOT for C6806 which I have.
I think all tyour questions are answered in various threads in the X-ZU forum...
You have gone about it all ass about face, you should have downgraded to .532 then rooted with kingo (looks like is is safe?). Once rooted you should of then backed up your TA partition in case you ever need the phone serviced.
I dont know if TWRP is working well in any of the boot.img but CMR works fine (except for the date of the backups)
any of the firmware/ftf/ROMs will work with any of the Ultras as far as I know

I flashed a .532 firmware still no safe root method from what I can tell. Looks like I need to flash an earlier version or a FTF hopefully that contains root and custom recovery. I will keep reading and researching. Thanks for the help.
do you want to end up on a rooted stock firmware?
as you have already unlocked the boot loader you can just flash one of the kernel/boot img with recovery and then flash whatever rom you want from there...
I also run into Cyanogen Recovery and have trouble going back to FlashTool with my chromebook. I am a bit panicky, but your post is comforting and ensuring.
I got the C6806 xperia z ultra in year 2014. I have been using it as a home primary PC.

Root the M4 Aqua E2303 Locked Bootloader/Install TWRP on 2.167/3.92
Before we begin:
Make sure you have the following:
•A Windows PC
•Flashtool (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_d8uWGbkaetTnhWX0J5UG5hN28/view?pref=2&pli=1)
•The .128 firmware (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzVQf67OZ9NtMFotOXRycTZoSlk/view?pli=1)
•Patience
•A good internet connection
•15 to 20 minutes
• The M4 Aqua Root Toolkit (https://www.dropbox.com/s/edse0h6b02odzn1/rootkitXperia_E23xx.zip?dl=0)
•ADB Drivers (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0MKgCbUM0itNVB1elljU2NPR0k/view?pref=2&pli=1)
•TWRP Toolkit (https://www.dropbox.com/s/yomdwq3p2le9hvi/M4Aqua-lockedTWRP-0.1-installer.zip?dl=0)
How are we going to do it:
The procedure is pretty straight forward, as the M4 Aqua is only on Android™ 5.0 we can take the kernel of the older versions of firmwares so we could root the device, while keeping the firmware version to the newest release (2.167/3.92). The method has been only tried on the E2303, there may be chances of it working for the E2306.
Let's begin! Part 1, Changing the Kernel:
First, we need to install the latest Flashtool version (link above), after you proceed with the installation of Flashtool, you need to install the Flashtool drivers, which can be found in C:/Flashtool/drivers or the path you selected flashtool to be installed. Once you open Flashtool drivers you want to select FLASHMODE DRIVERS, this is only so that the M4 will be recognised while in flashmode. After the drivers have been installed, you want to move the downloaded .128 firmware to C:/Users/*YourName*/.flashtool/firmwares or you can use the other method I will show later. Once you have done that you want to open Flashtool and wait for the Sync to finish. After that has finished, you will see a lighting icon in the top-left corner, you want to press the icon and select flashmode, now the second method, at the top you will see a path leading to the generic .tft folder in which Flashtool belives the .ftf files are located by default. You can change that by pressing the button on the right and lead the program to the path of the .128 ftf file. After you have selected your .tft file you will see on the right a lot of options *everything that the .ftf file contains*, if you want to keep the data on your device you can tick the first two options, a bit down on the right you will see a lot of options, including system.bin, you want to tick everything EXCEPT for the kernel.sin, this is the most crucial part. After that is done you want to let the program prepare the files, mean while you want to power off your M4 Aqua, after the process on Flashtool is done you want to press the VOLUME DOWN button while connecting the phone to the PC, once you see the green led light you can leave the button, if everything was done right the process of flashing should begin. If everything went well the kernel should be flashed and the phone should safely power on. Now we can proceed to the second part. Rooting the phone.
2ND METHOD
You can downgrade to .128 firmware and download the .167 or .92 firmware and update everything except for the kernel. You can do this by going into Flashtool, and doing the steps above but TICKING the kernel.sin. Try this if the first method doesn't work.
Part 2, Rooting the phone:
Now that we have changed the kernel we can use the root toolkit to root the device. Download the root toolkit from the link above, but before you do anything you want to go to Settings>About Phone, scroll down to Build number and press it 7 times, after that is done you want to go back to Developer options, and you want to tick USB Debugging, after you have done that you need to install the ADB Drivers from the link above, after that is done you can connect the phone to the computer, now you want to extract the toolkit and run install.bat *No administrator rights needed*, and then you should see a screen on your phone asking if you want to trust the computer, you want to tick the box saying always and you want to press yes, now the rooting process should begin and your phone to be rooted. After this is done we can proceed to the part 3, installing TWRP
Part 3,Installing TWRP:
Now, that we have root we can install TWRP using another toolkit. This part is optional but if you want any custom ROM's you need this. This part is the easiest, you need to download the toolkit from the link above and just run the script. We don't need any additional steps as we did them in Part 2.
If everything went well you should now be rooted and have TWRP with a locked bootloader and on the newest firmware.
In case of bricking you can use the Sony PC Companion tool and repair my phone/ tablet option. YOU WILL LOSE ANY DATA SAVED ON YOUR PHONE.
sir , can this apply to D2353?
I have only tried on E2303, but you use the right .ftf files the procedure should work

Root and flash stock kernel tft u use
I'm having issues with this also. Downgrading the kernel only causes a boot loop animation. I can downgrade everything to 128 and it works. Going back up to latest with everything BUT kernel causes boot animation loops also.
EDIT!
Oh heck yes, I did it! For anyone stuck in a logo boot loop despite following the above, here is how I did it:
- Use Flashtool to completely flash my .167 E2303 to .128.
- Use above tools to root and install TWRP.
- Use Flashtool again, but this time in Fastboot mode. I extracted the system.sin file from a .167 ftf and then flashed system using Flashtool.
- Reboot the phone into TWRP. Clear cache, dalvik. I did NOT clear data.
- Install M4 extras. Install AOSGP. Clear cache, dalvik.
- Reboot took about 15 minutes, probably less.. and BINGO.
Thanks to all.

When i upgraded from 128 to 167, phone works well but random reboots. Any fix this issue?
Clean install of .167 and .92. Flashing the .128 kernel causes the blue boot animation to hang (the start up sound cuts off half way). Flashing the previous kernel back over works.
Same happens when I flash .128 then everything but the kernel from .167 and .92.
Unsure what the FSC script option does, but yes or no makes no difference.

If your random reboots usually happen while downloading or updating apps in the play store, you should try this. Make sure you backup your data first just in case.

Hello. Please help. I got softreboot everytime I try to call someone

Hello,
thank you for this guide. I have a question: why not extracting the old kernel and just flashing the kernel.sin?
I have been using the prerooted .575 ROM by kulvertti (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...lipopprerooted231a128z2-tabletsgp511-t3100821) with the bootloop fix in the last week, and decided to reflash the rom without the bootloop to test whether it works without it.
After the advanced wipe of everything including internal memory and flashed the .575 rom, my tablet can no longer boot up. It just stayed in the Sony Xperia screen. Tried to ADB to it, but gets the "device null not found error", nor the adb devices showed it was connected to the PC.
What can I do to get me out from this now? or at least how can I install TWRP recovery so I can try flash again? Much appreciated.

Thanks, but EMMA won't work. It is for unlocked bootloader. I managed to download the flashing tool 0.9.22.3 by Androxyde and get everything back to normal, though I still need to flash the bootloop fix for the .575 ROM.
