I have a unlocked and rooted LG G5 (H850 EU variant) with TWRP installed. As I already read in other threads, I can not install with OTA anymore.
I want NFC and glance screen to work so I suppose I need to stick with the stock ROM. Also since I use Xposed, I don't want to update to Nougat for now. Is there any flashable ZIP that I can flash from TWRP with latest Marshmallow ROM? Is this the preferred way or should I rather use LGUp? What do I need to choose not to do a factory reset?
I highly recommend you to update to Nougat, as it is very stable and fluid (from my experience).
Here's the flashable zip for Android Marshmallow: (P.S. not sure if this is the latest version)

USE THEM ON YOUR OWN RISK.
You shouldn't worry about about not using LG UP,
As the zip files contains everything necessary for the update process including: modem, bootloader, etc. (Except the recovery partition, to keep TWRP in tact)
I've updated yesterday to nougat though TWRP, and all was perfect, I didn't do even a factory reset, and preserved root and data partition unencrypted (flashing an extra .zip), so I too advise you to make the upgrade.
pd.: Not OTA nor LGUP worked for me

Hello guys,
I need your help. I have a L7 II P710 and have intalled the rootable KDZ version months ago, but now I installed an OTA update accidentally and stucks since in the recovery (twrp). I checked all threads for a solution and tried to flash the new P710 V20C EUROPE OPEN version to repair the problem, but with several methods from the LG Flash Tool 2014 I could not solve the problem and still stuck in the recovery. Now I could need support from experts like you!
It would be glad when someone could assist me in this problem.

If you have working TWRP, try to flash some of custom roms' like CM10.2 first. After that (if your device boot normaly), you may flash stock kk europe open.
And more details please, like version before ota upgrade, your country, simlock status etc.

Thanks for your reply. I could solve the problem... I downloaded a stock kdz version that doesnt include the twrp recovery or something else. After that I could boot normally up and down. Then I flashed the new rootable that includes TWRP and all works fine. But now there is a OTA update again and I would like to apply this update, but with the TWRP recovery it is not possible. Is there any way to restore the stock recovery without flash a stock rom?
My kdz contains pached bootloader (APPSSBL), and after upgrade via ota you have brick.
If you want this upgrade (why if you can flash my v20c?), you must flash back original RECOVERY and APPSSBL, extracted from your present original rom kdz.
And unroot your device.
Or you may simply flash original kdz.
After ota upgrade, no longer root is possible.
I flashed your 20c version (this was meant with "the new rootable [rom] that includes TWRP"), but my smartphone shows me every time the possibilty to update. Actually i don't need this update and tried to deactivate the OTA updater. I deactivated the update manager from my lg and disabled the notification but it still shows me the message to update. Could I backup the app via TitaniumBackup and delete it?

Yes, good idea. I recommend you to backup whole rom with TWRP. Just disable screen timeout in TWRP before performing backup.
Actually there is a solution. Its better not to use FOTA update if u have custom recovery. But also attached file can help.Sometimes.Helped me with v20D updates. Just flash it via recovery.

Hey out there,
can someone guide me to a way to update my rooted and twrp'd n9wifi to mob30d without loosing data? I was searching for a zip that can be flashed from twrp but no success until now. Normally i use custom roms so im familiar with this but not with stock roms.
Thx in advance
Just Flash boot, system and vendor images (+Radio on LTE devices).
Also checkout FlashFire app, which can apply an ota (once your system is unmodified/untouched) and also flash factory images.
I wanted to upgrade to the newest addition to the oxygenos as soon as it was released, having a rooted OPX. Flashed the OTA normally using flashfire but I forgot to check the "Inject SuperSU" option. So now I cannot flash TWRP, probably not supports the new os and I'm left with an unrooted phone. If any of you could direct me to a custom recovery that will allow me to flash SuperSU I would be grateful
Everything is in here that you need to know to install SuperSU.

Hello Everyone!

And now I want to get back my recovery( last Time I use TWRP recovery that I use Autorec KK to install it). But anyway, for now when I try to install it again using Flashify and....another.....I don't know what happen there is no recovery mode or anything. It shows me a black screen. But I know how to return to normal. And now What I want is.....I need you guy to make autorec mm for lg g2 f320. I don't know how to install custom recovery. Please help!!!!!
Doesn't sound like you followed the correct way to update your device as you need to have the correct bootstack installed. You should be able to find info on it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/boot-g2-hybrid-bootstacks-t3183219
Installation guide for CM13 based roms:
-Flash Bootstacks According to your variants from HERE (click the link above)
- Download the latest build
- Download Gapps
- Take a nandroid backup
- Recommended - Full wipe and factory reset
- Flash ROM using latest TWRP recovery
- Flash Gapps
- Reboot.
- First boot will take a while...be patient, it will boot
You might have to flash the original LG OS and start over to make sure everything is set up correctly.
I have a H850 on V10d. The bootloader is unlocked, TWRP 3.0.2-0 is flashed to the recovery partition and SuperSU 2.78 is installed.
When I try an OTA update, the phone reboots to TWRP. Rebooting from there leaves me with the old firmware.
What is the preferred way to update? Can I use LG Bridge? Or do I have to flash a stock recovery?

Update with LGUp o by flashing firmware zip (if avaible) trough TWRP.
Never do OTA when you are rooted or have a TWRP, there are high possibility to brick in these cases.
so if i have an unlocked bootloader, custom recovery, and i'm rooted, but have a bunch of apps installed and a bunch of configurations, unroot, flash stock and then install the OTA, i'm okay?

If you're going to flash stock, you may not need to worry about an OTA. Just find the latest KDZ file for your G5 H850 here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h850-firmwares/ and then flash it with LGUP. Your bootloader will still be unlocked, and you'll have to use fastboot to flash TWRP after which you can root your new stock firmware by flashing SU. Flashing stock is just that; you'll lose any installed apps and configurations you've set in 10d.

Maybe you can prevent some losses if you use the LG Backup tool at first!
Make a Backup and you can restore some of your apps and their data.
BUT ALL ICON / SOUND & SYSTEM SETTINGS ARE LOST!
