I recently bought a RedMi Note 4 for my father and it was working fine for the first couple of weeks, but now when I tried to make a call, for example to the number 1111-1111, it adds my fathers number itself (let's say 2222-2222) prior to it and the country code +55 (Brazil).
So instead of calling to 11111111 it is calling to +552222222211111111 which of course doesn't exists so I can't call anyone, it might be a simple option that my dad turned on for accident, but I couldn't find and also couldn't find it on the web. I'm resisting to factory restore it cause every time I do it is a pain to reinstall his 3 bank apps.
Anyone has any idea on how to resolve it?
Thanks!

My mom called my phone yesterday, and I went to answer it but it stopped ringing. Then she called again and asked me who the hell just answered my phone, and why they only spoke Spanish.... I thought probably just a crossed line, but then I got a text the next day saying that international calling must be added by the account holder..... As if someone tried to make an international call? ? ? I'm on page plus, so there is no way to investigate... Has my Android been hacked through an app, and my esn stolen?
UPDATE: So, I changed esn's for 2 weeks and things went back to normal. But a few days ago I switched back to the android to test... Sure enough, just now, my cousin called but it stopped ringing. A few minutes later he called back to tell me that I butt-answered the phone. He could BBC world news in the background, talking specifically about mexico. It wasn't me, but someone accidentally answered my call again.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Hey, so Android hacking seemed to be the correct forum for help...?

Possibly. Contact your service provider immediately.
Hi All,
Recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Gumtree online. It was only working on o2 network so got at unblocked from a guy at a market stall so that it works on all network sims. It was working fine for about a week but then randomly came up with a message saying "emergency calls only" and I coulnt make or recieve calls or texts even if i changed the sim to o2. The internet was still functioning correctly however.
Called network provider and have been told that there is a bar on it by an insurance company. Tried to get back to the seller but have not been able to contact him. Have reported him but I would just like to know is there any way to unblock this phone at all? Dont want to lose out on all the money spent on it. would it be worth downloading any unblocking applications if the phone has a bar on it?
Please any ideas, comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Apologies for the long message
Thanks

This forum is for the SGH-I777 (AT&T version, four capacitive buttons at the bottom.)
You're in the UK and bought from the UK equivalent of Craigslist, so you likely have an I9100. This isn't the forum for you.
Either way, nothing anyone here can do to help you - we are all AT&T customers.
Not to mention, sounds like you bought a hot (stolen) phone. Only the carrier it was first connected to can unblock the IMEI and unless you can prove you bought it legitimately they are unlikely to do so. If the insurer already paid out on a claim then they will never do so. Buying from unknown sources is a bad idea.
So in short, sounds like the guy got scammed.

Hi Guys,
I wonder if someone can help me.
I have been trying to dig it online but cant seems to find correct information. I have been to few mobile repair shops around London but not really convinced what the problem really is.
I have been using Samsung Galaxy Note 1 for some time now, but couple of weeks ago my connections starts dropping and i would just take the SIM out and put it back and it would start working again.
What is is that when i enter *#06# it doesn't show any IMEI number. I have tried to restore my phone and install new software didn't help.
Some of the mobile shops said they need to buy a new IMEI number, some said they need to open it and see and some said "Basement" has gone bad. Not sure what that is though. May be he meant Baseband...
So here i am. Would appreciate if someone can direct me into right direction because i don't want any rookie to tear my phone apart.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
Can't analyze your phone from far away. But is it possible that your phone went crazy after an OTG-update of the system?
Well, I think the easiest way for you is to flash a new firmware and I'd like to recommend an "alternative" software. My Note runs on "Team Union" (which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2194307 ). This might fix your problem.
You'll find the IMEI number on the sticker under the battery. Have a look at http://www.galaxynoteforum.net/. and join. There is a thread regarding IMEI numbers, which might help. Good luck
Hello,
I'm currently having signal problems with this phone I recently bought on Ebay ( It was listed with this problem but i didnt think it was this bad lol). I only have 3G allocated to my current plan with ATT but it seems as thought this phone does not connect to the ATT network and when it does it goes out within 3 mins. I have read up on a few things regarding flashing a new modem on the phone and I have also contemplated replacing the antenna module located on the loud speaker part inside the phone. I saw a previous post on where the antennas are in the phone and I believe the one on the speaker is for 3G/4G/LTE.
I just wanted to know, if anyone has any other suggestion on best course of action from this point?
Note: I did update my APN settings correctly already.
Thanks in advance!
Search for a site online that can check if your imei is blacklisted. Or you can call at&t and ask. If you're blacklisted, all this effort will be pointless.

I've already looked up the imei and it is not blacklisted. Sorry I should have said that in the original post.

I've been having what seems like the same problem.
There's 3 threads I can think of on XDA with the same or atleast a very similar issue.
So far no one has solved it. Even by replacing the SIM tray. I genuinely think it's a software issue but I don't know enough about android coding to figure it out. I'm thinking it's time to learn JAVA so I can read all the code and the logs.

I'll let you know if I figure it out.
Are you 100% positive about the IMEI? Ended up being my issue.
For few months now, I am getting robocalls from spoofed number, classic case of neighbor spoofing. Has anyone figured out how to address it?
I usually do not answer the calls and have deactivated voice mailbox as well, but sometimes I expect phone calls where I am not aware of the number. At that moment, I don't know if I should answer the call or not.
For example, last week, I was expecting a call back from the doctor. They have multiple numbers in the practice and I don't any of those numbers. I have central number only. The doc tried calling me 5 times but I didn't answer the call because the number was not known to me. Finally, he sent me a mail on the portal and asked me to call back. So I did. I apologized profusely and luckily, he didn't mind as he is facing same issues.
I am trying to avoid such situation again.
Apps like Robokiller and similar haven't worked in my case. I have Pixel XL, fully updated, rooted but as many claim, I never get red screen on spam calls. I am using Hiya (free) too, but it isn't of much help either. I am on at&t MVNO Airvoice Wireless, if it makes any difference.
Thanks for all ideas in advance.
