Can't play online videos - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since I've flashed SlimKat 4.4 and moved to CM 11 4.4, I haven't been able to watch videos online. There's audio but the video is just black and the YiuTube logo glitched on the bottom right part of all videos I play. Tried different browsers, no luck. Can only watcb through YouTube app but I uninstalled all Google apps because I hate them, now I need to be able to watch vids thru browser. Local videos work fine.
Help me, pros. Thanks.
Another question: is it ok to clean flash a JB rom over KK?

[Q] HELP!.Need Youtube Working

I wanted to play YouTube videos on my A7HT v1 and found that version 1.3 works. But the videos do not play in fullscreen.some are small while others are large. .I also tried using Skyfire browser but the video quality is bad in it.
Then i switched to 2.1 beta 6 ROM(you can find it at archosfans forums) and noticed that the YouTube app in it displays videos in fullscreen but the videos cannot play on any ROM higher than 1.5.
Now i have decided to decompile the 2.1 apk, copy the properties that tell it to play in fullscreen and paste those into the 1.5 apk.So can any one guide me on this.
Thanks
Make sure that your browsers are up to date. Im not much of a youtube user but I think that they just started using HTML5 for the videos as opposed to flash. So if the app is working but the browser isnt, that could be why. Aside from that, try to empty the cache for your browser or the app? This might not be related directly to your ROM, I have heard a lot of people (running stock roms) complaining that youtube has been broken on their android phone. Does it work in your stock ROM?
Hope this helps, but I doubt it haha.

Youtube NOT WORKING!

I have a LG Phoenix running CM10 Thrive ROM. I know the rom wasn't meant for the phone but it works fine. The only issue I have is with YouTube. The app does not play videos and forces close most of the time. I tried several fixes but none worked. Please help! I think I have to install a codec, any help with that would be appreciated.
Search and install an older version. It Will work

Tried Youtube 1.0, 2.3 and 3.1. None worked. The integrated player for the ROM doesn't work for online flash videos either. It just skips to the end and won't play.
Use this Apk . Rolle Youtube.

Thanks, but I got Youtube as well as the camera working on my P505 using a later build. Thanks for the help! I will use the apk and see what it can do.

[Q] Youtube Issues

Okay, I am either losing my mind, or there is something seriously wrong with the Youtube Android app. I have a Nexus 10 running CM 10.1 (have also run PA and stock) as well as a Galaxy S3 running Beans (previously CM10). On both of these devices, Youtube can't seem to reliably play for more than 4 minutes at a time. Furthermore, any time I try to seek forward in a video, the player crashes. Finally, every time I click a Youtube link from another application, the video will not load; I have to go to a different video and go back to the one I was trying to watch. Is everyone having these problems? Is there anything I can do to help alleviate these issues? I was planning on using my Nexus 10 to watch online lectures on Youtube, but it will be of little use for that if it can't play more than 4 minutes of video and I am unable to seek to my previous location!
Try finding a way to uninstall the app and then reinstall it. Maybe using a apk file? It could be the YouTube app that comes with the ROMs on your devices are either very buggy or might be corrupted. My YouTube app currently works fine on stock ROM but I have not yet tried cm10 so I'm not quite sure. Hope this helps
Sent from my Nexus 7,
That's an issue with CM ROMs I believe. Had the issue on CM10. Try setting the quality to HQ in settings. That's the way it worked on mine.
Or alternately you can try tubemate app

[Q] videos not streaming via chrome or internet on note 2

Hi.. this is my first post on xda. Not sure if im in the right forum topic.
Im using Note 2 -android 4.1.2.
Ive come across an unusual problem today. I tried streaming videos and none of the videos are playing on both chrome and the defalt internet app. I always used the default browser video player
When a video is clicked to play, the usual black screen appears but thereafter it just keeps loading with the circle going round in the middle (attached screen). But nothing happens. I have not installed any other apps since before nor any other mods.
What I have already tried.
I have resetted app preference under app manager and stil the same issue
Tried installing MX player and tried to load the strea ming video via mxplayer still same issue.
Appreciate your help.

Cant play HTML5 videos.

Can you guys play HTML5 youtube videos from the youtube desktop page on your phone? I've been trying on Chrome but I cant get it to play ever. I get an error message.
I've tried both enabling and disabling HTML5 setting on the youtube page. https://www.youtube.com/html5
Also, I cant play imgur GIFVs. Both on the site or the app. http://i.imgur.com/B1Tq4QQ.gifv I can open that link fine on my computer but not on my phone.
Is it just me or does everyone have this issue?
Im using the Archidroid 4.4.4 kitkat ROM.

Thank you. I'll look into it.
I managed to get the Gifvs to work by wiping the phone and using Archi Kernel instead of Boeffla.
