I have the Snapdragon variant. Unlocked my bootloader using the official method.
Using ZCX TWRP and after flashing n firmware and then Nitrogen OS 7.1 this showed up upon booting:
To start Android, enter your password.
Help, how do i fix it? I also tried finding for anything about passwords or keys in /data/system but there isn't any. :crying:

Thank you.
i have the same problem as i installed nitrogen os its asking password for entering android as i formatted data and cache as well as internal storage i am getting same issue again
If you have a password problem at reboot, go back to the TWRP and go to the Advanced - File Explorer. You delete the following files in / data / system and then reboot.
Gatekeeper.password.key /gatekeeper.pattern.key / locksettings.db / locksettings.db-shm / locksettings.db-wal
I havenot such files in my redmi note 7 twrp

Hello
I've been using XIaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro [Kenzo] and I'm very happy with this extraordinary value for money phone
However I have run into a big problem, I had been using a custom Greek Rom Called "GTV Version 6.9.29" which is based on MiUI 8.6.10.13 and was working totally fine, had no bugs, lag-free etc. and I wanted to switch to CyanoGenMod just to try it out and have a taste of Nougat
and install this ROM here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-cyanogenmod-14-0-t3461068
and I installed it using some version of TWRP ( I do not remember which one ) all I remember when I was booting into Recovery mode it was asking me If I wanted to keep the phone "Read-Only"

I did A WHOLE BACKUP OF ALL PARTITIONS, did a factory reset, Installed Cyanogen and phone booted CyanogenMod.
WiFI and SIM cards were not working and that sucked.
So I did a complete restore of the Backup I did, phone booted fine, WiFi works and SIMs do not work.
But it does not recognize my PIN which is 5314 and I'm 10000% sure that the PIN is correct and also it does not recognize my Fingerprint and I cannot unlock it.
I did a Google search and there was in MIUI 7 a Forgotten Password option and I cannot find it.
Please help and tell me what I can do, I do not wish to do a Factory Reset, that's why I did a complete backup
Thanks
Boot into TWRP.
Go to Advanced > Terminal and type these commands
cd /data/system
rm *.key locks*
reboot
Pin will be removed. Hope it helps.
I deleted them using TWRP File Manager, Phone is OK now and also I reflashed my ROM and IMEI were fixed.
Thanks a lot for your help!
try flashing cm13 firmware or whatever rom you are using.
So I have a Asus Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 ZC553KL that has 32GB of storage. I decided to root it, I had to unlock bootloader, install Twrp t o flash SuperSU. Anyway, when flashing SuperSu, something went wrong, or I did something wrong when wiping data/factory reset, because the phone coudln't start the OS anymore, it only boot to fastboot or recovery.
So I ended up having to flash a new ROM. I wiped everything, I had to repair and format some partitions to fix Twrp errors. I flashed the new rom through adb fastboot. Then I found a more*recent Rom, and did it all again.
Right now I have a december 2017 Nougat with Magisk root. But I just noticed when connecting the phone to PC that it shows "Shared Internal Storage" of 6.40GB total space only... I checked on the phone, same thing:

}
So I went and installed a diskinfo app:
Why is my Data folder so full? This is a fresh ROM...
I found a Quora thread saying that showing "shared internal storage" instead of Internal Storage is as TWRP bug, and to fix it, a user advised to get stock recovery and wipe data/factory reset, maybe it is related to my issue? ShouldI try to fix it that way?
Updated
Guys I eventually fixed that. It was a TWRP bug.
Now I have another problem. After flashing roms and updating the phone and root, I noticed that I have IMEI 0 Null and Unknown serial number... But even with a imei null I can make calls and send sms... is that normal? I thought imei null would prevent that. Also there seems to be very hard to fix this issue on this phone since it's not mediatek...
i flashed miui 11.0.4.0 firmware to try lineage 17.0 but this happens when i click "add account and device" it says " Don't Disconnect from the network etc " how to fix this pls help me my 2gb ram cant handle miui because its ****ty

So you want to flash LineageOS?
You need to unlock your bootloader which will factory data reset your device.
Since you get that error you should check your network (maybe trying with another, faster one) and if that doesn't help you should do what it says:
Sign out of your MI Account, then add it again and try again.
Perform a factory reset, then add your account again and try again.
As I said: You have to wipe your device no matter what, which means you could do a factory reset now if it's necessary.

I'm totally noob for android/root
My Redmi Note 10 Sunny is bricked or something
I do some research and unlock OEM bootloader and install this rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-11-mojito-sunny-project-sakura-official-aosp.4325663
But It's stuck at Sakura loading screen and doesn't boot to the system no matter how long i wait.
I try to restart a few times but it stuck at the same animation.
Then i decide to power off and open again with power + volume up now i'm at this RECOVERY screen but i don't know what to do.
If i choose Enter fastboot the phone instantly freeze can't do anything and need to power off manually.
If i choose Reboot to bootloader it's just reboot to this very same screen.
If i choose Reboot to recovery same as the above.
If i choose Mount/unmount system the text at the bottom about failed to bind appear.
I post this here instead of in the rom thread because i believe it's not the rom fault but i'm doing something wrong and i lose all of my rom? according to the bottom text.
Please help this is my only phone and i regret it now.

Try PE Recovery, LOS Recovery seems incompatible with the Sakura rom
CLEAN FLASH (RECOMMENDED) :Boot Into PE Recovecy
First Format Data(Factory Reset)
Click On Apply Update And Choose Adb Sideload
Now Go To Pc,Open CMD In Platform Tools,Type adb sideload PPUI_Mojito.zip (File Name Will Be Different)
It Will Be Failed At 47%.It's Normal So Dont Worry.
Now Reboot Your Phone And Enjoy!
I have problem with installing new ROM on phone Xiaomi MIX4 with A/B Partition file system. I followed this tutorial: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
Before I started my trying to update my system, my phone was running this ROM from xiaomi.eu community and everything was running good.: xiaomi.eu_multi_MIX4_V13.0.6.0.SKMCNXM_v13-12-fastboot.zip
Newer ROM, I want to install, is this one: xiaomi.eu_multi_MIX4_V13.0.8.0.SKMCNXM_v13-12.zip
but this new ROM can’t be installed simple through fastboot as previous one, so I need to do it in more complicated way (via TWRP):
Steps I did:
1. I did all data backup on external drive.
2. Phone is fully charged.
3. Bootloader is unlocked.
4. USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking allowed
5. Reboot to bootloader
6. Set active B partition through ADB command – “fastboot set_active b”
7. Run TWRP and tried to wipe all the data through WIPE button, but error occurred:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
8. Trying to install TWRP zip file (twrp-installer-3.7.0_11-0-odinx.zip) through TWRP Install button, but this error occurred:
Can you help me, what do I wrong? What step did I miss?
I tried a few alternative ways to solve this problem, but nothing helped and phone acctually can't run android anymore. Only shows fastboot logo and nothing else.
Thank you very much
